Wi-Fi Modems

So, in short, my desktop and laptop both think I’m located in Canada, but I’m actually in Pennsylvania. This has become a real pain when it comes to streaming and other websites requiring location info.I’ve tried to eliminate all other possible sources of the problem. I don’t have a VPN, and it doesn’t seem to be a software issue. I’ve spoken to support at Xfinity, Windows, and Google, and none of them can figure out the issue.I think it may be my SBG8300 modem, because I’ve taken my laptop to a relative’s house who has the exact same type of Xfinity internet, and lives only 15 minutes away, and when I connect to their wifi (without changing anything on my laptop), suddenly my location info is correct.I’ve also restored my modem to factory settings and still the issue persists. Any help in figuring this out will be very much appreciated! Thanks

Does the arris or Motorola SBG6580 modem have security issues with win10 & when was firmware last updated.?

Just recently when I try to make a bet on prize picks, getting blocked says my VPN is altering my geolocation 

I connected my sgb10 as directed using the coaxial cable and power. All indicators show stable internet connection but when I hardwire with an ethernet cable to my desktop, I received no internet connection. Additionally, the Wi-Fi network is available but has no internet connection

Hi Team I have an optical name. I have a gap and need to connect to Feit Electric's 2.4Ghz security camera device. I’m trying to add a Smart Life app gateway to my 2.4 network. It fails each time. The directions ask that I ensure MAC filtering is turned off. How do I turn MAC filtering off? When I sign in and navigate to it, my choices Allow, Deny & Allow All. None seem to work. 

Can I use a range extender with my new cable modem

For the past month, I’ve been having issues with losing internet on my G54.  When it happens, unplugging and replugging resolves the issue temporarily.  The issue will go away for several days and then resurface to the point where I’ll have to reboot 2-3 times in a single day.  This has made troubleshooting with my ISP difficult, since they make every effort to avoid sending a technician.  However, the reason I’m posting this here is because I noticed that even when I have no internet, the light on my router/modem is steady blue to indicate that everything is working fine.  Furthermore, I recently went into the GUI and noticed that ALL of the event logs and system logs are completely empty for the past 90 days.  I’m curious to know if anyone else has experienced this with their G54 where there’s no internet but the router/modem itself thinks everything is totally fine.

What does it mean when the two blue lights and keep flashing on this modem(sgb6700-ac)? i have tried to reset this network settings but it hasn’t work. I have also tried hard resetting.  

Out of the blue, the password for our 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi stopped working. All of our devices say “incorrect password” when trying to connect. 5G wireless still works with our normal previous password. We did not change the password for either band. We have tried logging into the modem interface or GUI but the default username and password don’t work. I don’t believe we changed those either. We have also tried holding down the reset button on the router several times, for up to a minute, and that hasn’t done anything to help. We are out of warranty so hoping we can find an answer here!  Arris Surfboard SBG6950AC2 

I’m having similar issues as well however for my case I’m not able to connect any devices to Xfinity . My devices connect just fine to the G 34 but the G 34 will not connect to the Internet. I have had it troubleshoot from Xfinity and they indicate that there is a sufficient signal coming to the house and that the modem is readable, but nothing connects through to it, this is definitely an Arris issue 

Hi, I have a new Surfboard sbg8300 modem. I have 20 renters who regularly connect to it. Rather than have to tell everyone the new modem name and password I’d love to be able to set it to what it used to be. How do I do so?

I have 1Gig internet with Comcast.  When plugged in with ethernet I’m getting 910 MB download, but after removing the cord the speed drops down to 20 MB, sitting within a foot of the modem.  Have already tried a factory reset with no change.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

How do I get the max download and upload speed out of my SBG8300

My G34 is limiting access to just one laptop. Its the laptop that I original setup the network on. This seems to have happened randomly. Contacted my internet provider and they see it the router connected and are able to ping it. Connecting devices through ethernet works fine. Everything has looked fine on the IP site and the WIFI has a green check and shows the one laptop, but no other devices are able to connect. I’ve restored to factory default settings but that doesn’t seem to work. Any suggestions?

I assume from the product webpage that this is not compatible with ooma (digital voice).  Please verify this. Is it compatible with Ring Cams (voice also)?  Alexa”  Hue Hub? For those that have purchased this, are there any issues with it?

I have a SBG10 for several years.  Now I notice slow WiFi speeds (52.0, 43.8, 69.8 etc. for download ) on iPad and iPhone, my PC is connected to Xfinity internet using Ethernet, the speed test shows high download speed such as (469, 558.28) .  How do I improve download speed on my Apple devices?

I’ve searched and don’t seem to be any clear way to submit a warranty claim for my G34 Gateway. The support site says to come to here, but then there isn’t any way to start a support chat. All it says it’s available. I had to switch back to my old modem and separate router since the Wi-Fi wasn’t showing any internet connection. No problem connecting to the Wi-Fi, but no internet connection from router to the internet and this is even after factory resetting the G34 Gateway.

Apple laptop & I phone seems to drop signal on g34.  all other devices seem fine.

I have recently purchased Surfboard G36 and found that I needed to cover more sq feet.  So I ordered the twin mesh W130.  My question is, can I add the two mesh W130s to the G36 and use them as extenders?  If so, I’m having a difficult time getting them set up.  As I navigate the app I keep getting error messages hooking into the internet.  

$300 for a top of the line Arris G36 and they won’t stand by it.  Comcast technician out for two hours and says that G36 and G34 won’t work and are incompatible with their network.  Hours on the phone/chat with Arris and the best they can do is send me another G36 in two or more weeks. That won’t help! Comcast told me to buy a Motorola modem or rent theirs. They see continuing incompatibility problems with G34 and G36.  I’m frustrated and caught in the middle.  I have other options on modem, but not on service in my area.  Arris took my $300 and ran.

I recently purchased a G54 modem/router and have been connecting my devices.  However, my Samsung TV about three years old will not connect to the WIFI.  All my other devices seem to connect easily.

I am not able to connect my television to the router/modem even though it is online.The screen on the tv shows that it is not able to find the AP? I did not have this problemwhen I used my equipment from Xfinity. How do I get a port of access? Thank you

Should Wi-Fi light be blinking on modem when connected

I have had an Arris Surfboard sbg7600ac2 for about the last 3 years, everything has been working fine until this morning.My connection kept dropping out on my connected devices and when I would go check the router, all the lights were off except power.It would restart and bring all lights back on, and all devices would connect then after a couple minutes it would turn off again and the modem would drop back to just the power light, then restart again. Over and over.I've unplugged the modem for several minutes then turned back on, same problem. I've reset the modem to factory settings, it works for a little longer then same problem. Running firmware 9.2.103AA85 Any help would be appreciated.
