Wi-Fi Modems

How can My modem reset to factory settings without me?  Xfinity said it wasn’t them and the modem might be malfunctioning.  The modem is less than 6 months installed.  Been having network issues ever since I connected it to Xfinity.  Thanks.

I’m having an issue changing my IPv4 LAN DNS to “statically configured” on my G34 router.  When I change the setting and set the primary and secondary DNS servers, fill out the CAPTCHA, and then hit save settings, it appears to take.  After a couple of seconds, the screen refreshes and its back to “obtained automatically”.  The software image name is “Edited personal details” and the firmware version is “Edited personal details”.

I reset the router. I want to create a username and password and access it. I’m able to connect to it with my laptop and it goes directly to login screen asking for my email and password. I’m not able  to get past this screen. I appreciate any suggestions.  btw, I’m using two different Surfboard routers in two locations. Can I control them both from the app?  

No connectivity issues until a big storm rolled through. My Alexa alarm went off in the morning and I couldn’t turn it off by talking to it so I went over to unplug and noticed it had no internet connection. When I got home later that day still no internet. I unplugged it for 30 seconds, nothing. Then again for 2 minutes and nothing. I noticed the lights never blinked or changed colors. They both are solid blue when plugged in, off when unplugged then right back to solid blue as soon as I plug it back in. I tried doing a hard reset and it won’t even respond to me pushing the reset button for 10 seconds or 30 seconds. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated! 

What exactly is a TOKEN when setting up DYNDNS and port forwarding?

I am trying to set up Parental Controls through the SURFBoard Central App on my SBG8300. In My Experiences tab I have created a User Profile under Parental Control and when I move to +Add Device I see a selection of devices I can select.  When I select a device and click ADD DEVICE at the bottom it spools for a while and then clears the page, not adding the device.  It does this with every device on the list.  I cannot add any devices as it spools and then clears ever time.  Why is it spooling and what can I do to get a device added to the User Profile? 

It's pretty clear now that Arris G36 is a massive frustration to several customers. I can not have satisfactory use of my Xfinity 2 GB connection.So my question is, instead of this dumb piece of plastic with bad tech inside and worst customer service, what do you folks suggest as a good modem wifi? Because this one is going to the trash can tomorrow. 

When I try to change the 2.4 network name and password I get a spinning circle for about a minute, then it ges back to original name and password.   Any suggestions?

I need help connecting my wireless hp8600. It says filtering is enabled in my g36 new modem. (No button to disable).  how do I use surfboard with the gs36 to disengage the filtering???  Thanks

just setup my Arris SBG7600AC2 internet working fine but the landline phone is not working. I have Xfinity triple play

I would like to claim warranty on my Arris g34. Mines messed up and I did everything to fix it. The light is stuck on amber and I hit the reset button but it’s not doing anything.

I’m having trouble getting my router restarted. It stopped working today (blue light was flashing) so I did a hard reset according to what I found from arris online. It now won’t stop blinking blue which I think means the IP isn’t connected? I’ve tried resetting again but that still isn’t helping. Do I just need a new router?

How to turn off the router portion on my Arros model number G 34

I recently bought the G36 and have been having issues with receiving my full plan speeds. I have 1gb speeds from xfinity. I would receive 1100+ mbps wired with their modem (xb7) but with the G36 if i get lucky it can pass 700.I contacted xfinity they said all is good on their end. Anyone have any tips to increase the speed if possible. Thanks 

I have a SBG8300 with a customized 5GHz and 2.4GHz band. My ISP is Sparklight and I am located in Arizona USA.The 5GHz band shows up on all my devices, but I can’t see the 2.4GHz band. I have tried multiple tablets, mobile phones, laptops, and my desktop computer. None of the devices can detect the 2.4GHz band.My internet speed is over 300mps upload and download (though I don’t think that would have any effect on the band broadcasting) and the 5GHz band connects perfectly to compatible devices. 2.4GHz is nowhere to be seen. I did use band steering previously, but we recently got a few devices that only use 2.4GHz. I turned off band steering and the 2.4GHz band isn’t detected by any device in any location inside or outside my house.I did everything I can think of to troubleshoot and nothing has worked.Two factory resets (each of these settings tried on each reset) Default 2.4GHz band and a custom 2.4GHz band with new SSID and p

To be honest I’m very disappointed so far with my G54, but mainly for one reason, no VPN. (Nothing wrong with speeds/channels/etc.) I want to protect my entire network, but several reviews I have found online say the G54 will not support a VPN (Example, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, etc.), nor do I find an example in the user guide. (which also happens to look like a recycled S33 guide), on how I might set one up.I do see a mention of VPN under IPV4 Maximum Security (see attached image), but have found nothing on how to set one up, if it is even possible. I’m seriously contemplating returning this product if I’m unable to setup a VPN, but I might have missed my return window, and this wasn’t a cheap product. How in 2024 would this not be supported?Will there be a firmware update that enables this feature? I would even pay a on

It appears I have a connection with solid green lights on front. Back light by ports is amber and blinking. We have normal internet service so assuming there is an issue with the router. I would like to know if there is a fix for this as none of our devices are working and cannot connect. 

Hello, Ever since hooking up this modem, my download and latency are very slow on my Mac.  My Download is around 53 and my latency is at 41.  The screen also freezes frequently during ZOOM meetings.

All,I bough in December 2023 a new Arris G34 for my Xfinity 800Mbps service ( I replaced my SBG6580 after 12 years of service).A couple of issues:After I placed in production the G34, I checked the Software Version.It was Firmware Version:01.05.020.04.01.NCS. But after a few weeks, I noticed that my G34 is running “Firmware Version:01.04.028.01.01.NCS” . Is it normal for xFinity to downgrade the G34? I’m running Firefox 126.0 but I’m still getting the message on the G34 UI console  -  the version of Mozilla Firefox you are using is unsupported. Your Gateway's web interface has been tested to work with the minimum version: 63.0.3. For the past week, I have Internet connectivity issues ( 40% loss in Teams calls, my VPN client is keep disconnecting, the Verizon LTE Extender direct connected to the G34 LAN port can’t build the IPSEC tunnel , etc). Recently upgraded to the G34(Cox ISP), ever since upgrading my internet speeds have drastically fluctuated. They will be around 500-600Mbps, and then drop and stay around 30Mbps.I experience the speed Issues on my Phone, Work PC and Personal PC.  I’ve speedtested both PCs and both experience the same speed fluctuations. I’ve done the standard troubleshooting of power cycling, and reconnecting all cables. I’ve tried both Wifi and Ethernet connections both experience same speed fluctuations.I’ve spoken with Cox and they don’t see any issues with the signal/service they are sending.Tried checking the Modem settings through the App which is not super useful. I haven’t changed any of the security settings or anything, so they are all stock at this point.Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated 

I recently upgraded to the Arris G36 and my WiiM streamer can not see the NAS DLNA anymore. I used DLNA to stream from my Asustor 5202T NAS to my WiiM streamer on the old router.  The Asustor NAS has plex, emby, and its own DLNA and separate UpNP servers running. These always showed up on my WiiM and even my Heos device prior to switching to the G36. I know DLNA is not being blocked overall because I turn DLNA on for my laptop, which is on WiFi and it will show up on the WiiM. Also the Emby client and the Plex client are able to connect through their own protocols to the servers on the NAS. This leads me to believe the G36 is somehow blocking the Asustor NAS for DLNA/UPnP but not servers from other devices. I am hoping this community can help me out.
