Wi-Fi Modems

SSID changed to ARRIS-0000 and internet is lost. Have done multiple hard resets which haven't worked. I haven't been able to use 198.162.0.1 either. I can't get anything working through the app either.

I noticed that in my firewall logs there are a lot of attempts. Not sure if this is normal or not but I have also been having issues with upload packet loss where I usually have 1% or less than 1% upload packet loss. Sometimes it can be worse, however I thought maybe if there is a lot of resources used on the firewall, then some packets may be getting dropped. Been having this issue for a while now. I use ethernet and also got a new line going to my house. I saw online that the SBG8300 has a puma 7 chipset which is defective, however I’m not sure if this is linked to my 1% packet loss at all. My router is not working. I have tried resetting it and turning the router on/off. How can I fix this?

I am using my G34 router with Xfinity Comcast. From last few days, I’m only seeing 2.5 Ghz band in my devices, if i restart the router, the 5G band comes up, but it disappears after 2-3 hours. Any solution? I think 5G band gives me much better speed than 2.5 Ghz one.

My Arris-G34 has a solid orange light on the front it is usually green. No devices are able to pick my modem up. I have unplugged the devices and I have reset the device and nothing is working someone please help what is wrong with these Arris-G34 modems.

What could be the problem. I thought this router/modem was compatible for use on xfinity. I can go 2 or 3 days and no problems then I can have 2 or 3 hangups. Rebooting my computer normally fixes the problem. What could be causing this? Sometimes it hangs up and the mouse doesn’t work and other times the screen hangs up when online but I can use the computer off line.

Hi I have a Arris G34 the light is orange and it's like they aren't any internet coming into my house. None of my devices will pick the modem up. I have tried unplugging and a 30-30-30 rest nothing works. I bought this back in May of 2023 what is wrong with my modem? Plz help!

Is there an actual User Manual for the G36 modem? If so, can someone provice a link to it?

Apparently Arris sent out a firmware update on November 1st 2023. M ISP is Xfinity, and since this is my OWN gateway, Xfinity does not/cannot update the firmware. It has to come directly from Arris. Since this “update”, I can no longer forward ports to enable access from outside my network. I did a RESET of the G34, but it doesn’t help. Below are the software versions BEFORE 11/01/2023 and AFTER 11/01/2023 BEFORE 11/01/2023 AFTER 11/01/2023 RESETTING the G34 did not go back to the original version for some reason. Is there a way to get back to the WORKING version? Or is there a way to make the NEW version work correctly? Here is Port Forwarding BEFORE 11/01/2023 and AFTER 11/01/2023 WORKING NOT WORKING Is there a solution for this?

My PC does not show network as available. My ARRIS SBG 10 won’t connect. I connected the SBG 10 to the cable coming in from Xfinity, connected it to my PC via a network cable and connected the power. The lights blinked and then stayed on. I downloaded the app onto my phone. The phone “connected” to the ARRIS 2611 network, but without internet access. The same was true for the ARRIS-2611-5G network. When I reconnected my old modem and router, my internet worked again. Does Xfinity have to do something for me to be able to use this unit? I did download the Xfinity app but I’m not sure how to sign in to our account. Is CommScope now the parent company and maker of the Arris Modems?

After my G34 dropped the SSID for the 5G I had to reset it. It now will not allow me to change the password, so I had to change it on my computers. When I connect to the network now my Bitdefender alerts me that it is an unsafe network. I’m using the recommended WPA2/WPA3 security on the router.

I was wondering if it is possible for someone to be piggybacking off my internet? I do have it set up on a password, but my internet is starting to run slower, and also buffering a lot. Would this be N router question or not? If it is, is there a way to find out?

Been having around 1% packet loss for a while now and I think it may be the modem/router. I have ethernet and got a new cable (my ISP is Xfinity). They told me that “a few percent packet loss is normal” which doesn’t make sense because I am hard wired. Is the PUMA 7 chipset inside causing this? I called the number and it said they were closed, it's not midnight!!! Sunday through Saturday business hours? JUST DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK!!!! Anyway, so the setup app doesn't work because I have a newer version of android, so I typed in modem IP and that doesn't work on either of my android phones.. so now what? Xfinity has been no help either, but at least they are actually open.
