buffering loosing signal shuts off

Had several instances where my month old G34 drops my 5.0 band but 2.4 stays unaffected.  We’re on Xfinity.  Recycling the router reconnects both bands WiFi connection.  Any insight on how to prevent the dropping of 5.0?

I recently bought a G54 Docsis 3.1.  When I navigate to Parental controls >  Managed Sites > Block Sites. I follow the process to add a blocked site, and enable parent controls and *NOTHING* happens.  The site doesn’t ‘save’ and doesn’t appear in a list of blocked sites.  It does absolutely nothing. This is a basic feature that should work - why doesn’t it? 

I really, really want to change my network name and password. Where do I do this? Specifically.

I just started my XFinity service and I purchased an SBG8300 for both my modem and router. I am not able to connect to any websites besides google, youtube, instagram etc. I realized that I am only able to connect to websites with IPv6. When I log into my modem, I see that the WAN IPv4 is 0.0.0.0 and the WAN IPv6 is something. I believe I am not receiving an IPv4 and so I cannot use many websites. If I check using whatismyip, I don’t get any result for IPv4, but I do for IPv6. If I use the command prompt to ping google, it works using ping -6 but not using ping-4.Is there anything on the modem end that could be done to further troubleshoot or is this an issue with my ISP?

Have G34 surfboard. Xfinity internet. Stream YouTube TV. When we got everything up and running it was great. Now the last month we are constantly losing internet.  Often just restarting the g34 fixes it. So how do I tell if it's the g34 or Xfinity who has the problem? 

I have an SGB8300…I believe it is a modem & router?  I wanted to see if I could connect a mesh network to it in order to extend my Wi-Fi into dead zone or poor signal zones of my home. Is this possible? 

I have a new G34.  I changed the network name, but when I try to change the password, the app thinks for a while and then goes back to the original password.  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks.

I use Magicjack with this modem/router and have for many years with no problems.  Within the last month, the call quality has gone down.  I have replaced all phones, cables, jacks, etc. with no success.  Magicjack tech support says it may be the following router/modem settings:Need to open up the UDP ports 5060 thru 5070 and must disable the SIP ALG.Tried to have Spectrum do these tasks, but I own the modem/router outright and they can’t/won’t address the unit because I own it. Can you assist with these issues??   

My new Arris G36 is not showing my PC plugged into the 2.5 GB port in connected devices but connects to the internet; my devices connecting to my mesh network do show up in the connected devices page.I can see through my isp’s monitor page that the 2.5 GB port PC is getting an IP to itself on the 2.5 GB port. While the 1 GB port uses the 192.168.x.x ip the modem gives, the 2.5 GB port uses 212.164.x.x ip from the isp.The wan is pulling 146.115.x.x from the IP.In the advanced menu is Mac Bridging; it is not on but it says in Help that it is. “A bridged device will get an IP address directly from your internet provider and not have access to your local network."This sounds like what is happening. Arris Tech doesn't understand  and me had to do full resets, etc. Isp has no clue what I am talking about.Anyone know? 

I dc my comcast gateway modem and switched to SBG7400AC2 surfboard.my previous download was 400 , upload 120now download is 100 and upload is 10I’m not an “IT” guy, but please send me advice.Thanks

Will not connect to network.  Orange flashing light.  Intermittent port fails preceding total failure.

I have service with Optimum. The provided modem from Optimum is connected via coaxial. It is providing wifi to more than 25+ devices. I have this SBG6950AC2 modem/router and want to know if I can use this device to connect to the existing network via ethernet and coaxial and use the device to connect some of the devices to this router. Essentially using this router as a wifi extender. Not have to connect it to the provider service. Just allow devices that are more than 75 feet away from the modem to connect to the router.

Comcast Infiniti has come out to my home and verified that my G 36 is not functional I have verified that it has a warranty that expires in May 2024.  how do I get a replacement or a refund?

Last night some of our devices were disconnected from the internet. This morning only my laptop could connect. Restarted router and modem twice each. After restarting, nothing can connect. Xfinity had verified that everything is fine on their end. Network name won’t even show up as an option on any of our devices. 

Is there an answer to a printer (Brother HL-2350DW)  that must be 2.4  and my new Arris SBG 10 router that is dual 2.4 and 5.0 (nota mesh network)?  Take the Arris back and pay rent on the Spectrum?  

I just bought this sbg8300 and replaced my cox panoramic modem. I bumped my speed to 500 mps. I canceled all my cable boxes and now do all streaming. I use 7 firesticks for streaming.  Normally no more than two at one time. Every 3-4 days the screen freezes up and the internet connection drops. Unplugging the modem for 60 seconds and restarting again connects everything again. I had no such problem with the cox panoramic modem. But cox was charging me 14 bucks a month to rent it. I don't do gaming at all. When I reset the modem I check to see if its hot but it doesn't feel like it. I do have TPlink deco attached to one port to extend the signal throughout my house. But that doesn't seem related.  I really want get this fixed so I don't have to keep resetting the modem to cox.  

One day my SBG8300 lost internet connection from Xfinity, Xfinity told me it was the modem, so I bought a new SBG8300. It also had no internet connection. Xfinity then told me they updated the area network and the SBG8300 was no longer compatible with Xfinity. I needed an update for the SBG8300.I looked and there is no software update for SBG8300. Is there a solution for this?

Modem GUI is not loading on my phone or laptop. What could be preventing the page from loading? I tried multiple browsers and I’m still having issues. 

i cannot log into the modem online. I have hard reset multiple times and the default username and password are not working

Dear ladies and gentlemens,I please send me further instructions of how I can get a replacement for my current G34 modem.Background:I’ve recently called a Xfinity service engineer to figure out why my connections always slows down over  the day and finally ends up in an intermittent internet connection. This happened at least once every 24hrs. An investigation by your service team (case number 2308-02902) has already been done on this.The Xfinity service engineer changed the modem to the standard Xfinity modem and suddenly everything works fine.I assume that the Modem has a defect where the cache is not cleaned correctly. It is definitely not the connection to my apartment, because this has been checked several times and is now working fine.PS: the recent upgrade of the firmware made everything worse. Don’t know if it overwrites parts of the cache used for other things before, but it took me about an hour till the connection got established

Woke up this morning to the router only displaying the first “online” light. xfinity app fails to connect from the isp side, can’t resetswitched to different coax spot in case it failed at the wall, no change. wifi signal no longer emitted, can’t connect to router directlyCan’t connect via ethernet cable eitherpowering down for a minute and powering up, no changefactory reset (press pin for longer than ten seconds), no change. have I missed a troubleshooting step? 

I’m unable to access the ‘Operation’ tab at the top of my Web Manager interface. It changes my address to 192.168.100.10:8080 when clicking it. It claims that the default username is ‘admin’, gives no password and accepts no known passwords. I’ve tried leaving the field blank, ‘password’, ‘Password’, ‘admin’, ‘Admin’ and the password I set to log into 192.168.0.1 itself and none of these work either. I know this worked when I first bought the surfboard a few years ago, not sure how to access this again.

I created the following topic about a month ago: Arris responded to check the downstream and upstream values and that if these were out of the recommended range we would have to contact our ISP. I followed the instructions in the article they shared and the values are all within the range they list. Our internet connection now drops multiple times per day nearly every 20 minutes now. I couldn’t respond to the message on my previous post because it was marked as resolved, but if anything the issue has gotten even worse. 

I just got done speaking to comcast and they are telling me that my G34 surfboard model is outdated. Does this mean it needs and update or does this mean it just will not function any longer?
