Cable modems with built-in Wi-Fi router

Pretty simple: Using the Surfboard app, showing internet speeds of 450 mbps but shows only 70 mbps on WiFi which is observed on connected devices. I’m guessing it’s something very simple I’m missing. Using spectrum. At my home when I updated to new modem immediately WiFi went to 350 mbps.
Hello, My SBG8300 is blinking both lights at the same time (fast blue on both) after a factory reset. My MediaCom technician checked everything and seems that my router is the issue.See the attached picture. Is there anything I can do, or is it the end of it?Thanks
I got the SBG8300 a few weeks ago and having some video lagging issues with my laptop. I’m paying for 400Mbps. The laptop has an Intel wireless-AC 9560 Channel Bandwidth of 160MHz on 5GHz. I did SpeedTest from about 30ft from the router. and get about 100Mbps. My iPhone gets 375Mbps from the same spot. I don’t know about the wireless on the iPhone but is this a fair comparison?Does the SBG8300 go to 160 or is 80MHz max? Would it help if I had a 160MHz router?
Hello,, Forgot my admin password for the router so performed a hard factory reset. Since then I am unable to login with default admin credentials. Yes checked my typing and also attempted with cusadmin and serial number and last 8 of serial number. Any suggestions?
The g34 cable modem will not connect to the internet. The isp has activated the device. I only have one blue light strip at the bottom that glows solid blue. No connection to the internet.
I cannot see my G34 network on an older laptop. This is not a problem with the password not working. The laptop’s network adapter is 802.11 n, so it should work. It’s not even seeing the G34 as an option to connect to.
I recently upgraded to the SBG8300 router. I have reconnected all my wifi devices for the exception of my Google Mini. It fails to connect via wifi. I have performed a hard reset to the mini, added both 2.4g and 5g as network options,, tried new google mini and spoken to tech support. It worked fine with my old router. I use it as the doorbell chime for my Nest front door camera. Google has no ideas and claims it’s the set up of my SBG8300. Arris tech support can’t find the answer either.
Hello. It seems that my modem is bricked. Everything was working until the connection dropped. One solid blue light appears for the power icon. Browser will not connect to 192.168.0.1 or alternatives. Tried 15s , 30-30-30 method to factory reset, doesn’t work. Power cycling multiple times does nothing as well. Can this be salvaged? Any help would be appreciated.
Our devices are no longer connected to our Surfboard SBG6580-2, and when we try to reconnect for internet service, we are told that we have an incorrect password. We have used the Wi-Fi security key that came with the Surfboard all of this time. We’ve reset the Surfboard, including the 30-30-30 reset, and also had Comcast reset it, but we’re still unable to connect. Any solutions to this problem?
I recently purchased a SBG6580 thru a previous owner because I needed something simple for my new place. I am trying to figure out how to lock my security but needing help with the username and password on the 192.168.0.1. Does anyone know the general way to login so I can secure my device?
After installing & connecting via ethernet all my devices I let the network run a few days. I logged in & out of gateway from mobile app & web browser, with no problem & was convinced everything was working well. I attempted to relocate the router to a central location & it took forever to come back online, nearly 40mins!!! Now I’m having connectivity issues, cant log into mobile app or through web browser.Like many people, error message about my browser version not up to date, (turn off firewall) certificate errors, (let anyone access), then finally the web browser loaded the login page after a long 10 min wait only to enter user & pass “Operation time out, try again” . so I click login. wait a long time as the system thinks it over only to get timed out again. but next time a intentionally added a charractor to the password to see if I get time out error or invalid password. I got timed out!!! then I sat back and scratched my head. Smoked a little. and an
Xfinity keeps emailing me stating my Arris Surfboard SBG8300 is no longer compatible. We’re supposed to be getting 800 speeds and are getting 500. Someone told me this is because the SBG8300 is known for having a defective puma chipset. Is Arris offering a fix for this? Mine is still under warranty and I did purchase a 4 yr product replacement plan from Best Buy.
I’ll try to hit the main points quickly:SBG6782 seemed to be working well about 2 months agoHad a major power outage and internet provider was down for a day or two (Suddenlink/Optimum)When power and internet came back on, my modem wasn’t working at all or barely at all and cable provider said that I needed a firmware update on my modem (which they supposedly did from their office). After that the modem was dropping the signal about 1-3x times an hour (and sometimes more than that)Service call and it seemed like there were some issues that they resolved (like my modem not being in their system anymore etc) and some line to home cleaning up, but after a few weeks, modem still dropping a lot (2-3 times an hour). Another guy comes out and shows me that I have a really good signal to my modem but I couldn’t get internet… I disconnected routers etc. and got the internet working and thought that was it… BUT modem goes back to dropping signal 1-3x / hourFinally convince them to let me borro
When I try to connect a 2.4 ghz device (smart plug, etc) I either get an incorrect password when trying to connect or it gets connected and then drops. I know the password is correct.
wifi speed coming from SBG8300 only 5 feet away getting 53mbps on 2.4ghz & 5ghz yet with ethernet hardwired to Orbi the wifi is 890mbps.
