Wi-Fi Modems

Hello, I bought blink cameras and it won’t connect to my WiFi. The rep from blink believes that I need to turn off my firewall setting. Can someone help me with that?  Thank you 

We have a SBG8300.  When logging into Cisco AnyConnect, It is saying “The VPN connection to the selected secure gateway requires a routable IPv4 physical adapter address.  Please move to an IPv4 network and retry the connection or select a different secure gateway.” Not sure if it matters, but this a government laptop. We have another home laptop that also logs into a VPN, but it is commercial company VPN, and with no issues. Suggestions?

We have tried to connect several times tonight and we keep getting “Cannot connect your home network”.  We have rebooted several times.  We are connected to the wifi on our computer and even on own phones.  So I don’t understand what we are doing wrong?I am getting error code: 0000-1613

My modem has all lights solid green but none of my devices have been able to connect to the internet. I've tried power cycling the modem but didn't get anywhere. I've also contacted my ISP and they said that everything was good on their end and there was nothing they could do.

Is there a way to update the firmware for  wifi and does anyone know the password of the day to view advance features? The password generator  produced a password but it did not work.  The wifi constantly buffers Spectrum changed out lines, and connectors but, there is still an issue with buffering Thank you in advance!

HOW TO RESET PASSWORD

My internet gets dropped several times per day. The Send/Receive light on the modem is flashing indicating the firmware is updating. I can’t imagine the firmware needs updates multiple times in one day. I’ve contacted Spectrum and been told the problem is in the modem.

I have a situation where I have had daily connection issues and had to do multiple hard resets. Now the unit will not reset. The way I know is because in the past when I do a 20 second reset the ethernet lights would turn orange. Now they won’t turn orange and will never connect.BTW,  I have an open support ticket on this. I think I have a bad unit and I’m trying to get a replacement but I have to do the support dance. I explained that if the connection light never turns blue, they will never be able to diagnose the issue remotely. Am I correct? 

I’m concerned about occasional short-term disconnections from the Internet (WiFi is off). I have a G34 and Cox internet. My internet drops multiple times a day. Any known fixes? I have reset multiple times.

Just got the G36 to replace my very old Xfinity modem+router. While I don’t get the issue that others have mentioned with their G34/G36 about whole connection drop, I constantly get the packet drops while playing games. Other applications are quite tolerant with packet loss so it was only visible while playing online games. Any idea how to resolve this? This happened starting the night when I activated the router…. The old router does not have this issue.

Hey everyone! Like many I’ve tried to trouble shoot online, with no luck. My SBG10 is having some intermittent connectivity issues. When this happens, the SBG10 reboots itself and reconnects and restores service automatically after a few moments. This would be fine but I work from home and it is resulting in a lot of dropped calls. This issue started on 9/11, the same day there was an ISP outage for unplanned service maintenance, which makes me think something on their end got wonky. PC is hardwired in, not on Wifi, though everything that is connected to SBG10 drops service as well. This happens maybe 4-5 times a day. I’ve talked to the ISP twice who say that everything is fine on their end. Checked the coax cables to make sure they are snug, removed the only splitter I had and plugged the modem directly into the coax coming from outside. Same results. Not sure what else I can do here, other than get some second opinions. If it comes down to needing a new modem, that’s fine.

I recently lost internet connection due to a storm - not the first time it’s happened, but this time my connectivity did not come back up. I have a G36 surfboard I use in bridge mode with sever eero pods for Wi-Fi around the house. I ended up resting the defaults on the G36 which then showed connectivity, but when I set the G36 back in bridge mode I lose connectivity to my provider (Comcast Xfinity). what is going on?

I am not getting the data transfer rate of 300 Mbps that Spectrum says I’m supposed to get and they say it is because the modem. According to your website, the Surfboard SBG6580 cable modem has a maximum data transfer rate of up to 343 Mbps down. Saying up to 343 Mbps means anything above 0 to 343 Mbps! In some data transfer rate test tests in the past, I have gotten around 235-to around 258 Mbps down. Just a little while ago, it was only 153.1 Mbps down. Another issue is the lack of Technical Support for the product by the company! It seems Support is getting worse generally for things. In the past I have been able to call and speak to a person. Can’t it be done now?

Hello all. On my existing network I have the EX7300 extender.  I  upgrading my equipment to an Arris G34 cable modem router combo. I am trying to pair my EX7300 extender. At first it connects, but within minutes I get an error with no internet connection that states the extender cannot connect to my network and I end up in an endless loop of being prompted to setup The extender.  I am still able to access internet directly through the Arris G34 , it just loses connection to the extender. was wondering if anyone is aware of compatibility issues with these product models? Or, any suggestions on how to get around the problem I am having. Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions.

Just installed and activated the Arris G34 in my home, in the upstairs bedroom. Cannot get Wi-Fi downstairs in our 1600 sq ft house despite the fact that this product on Amazon claims to cover 2400 sq ft. Do I need to configure this to cover the range or claims to cover? Some trick to it?

I’m trying to setup a new G36 gateway modem. I’ve activated the modem via the Xfinity app. Now I’m trying to configure Wifi via the Arris Surfboard app but getting a communication failure.Any support help?

Ive recently switched my modem to the G34 Ive been trying to Mirror my Iphone using Reflector Software which worked on previous Modems ive used but for some reason now switching to this modem The reflector broadcast isnt available. are there some settings i need to change to make this work?

Successfully activated comcast/xfinity. Ethernet connect working fine. Added my own password successfully. Cannot access wifi on this laptop, where set up was done. Cannot access wifi on my smartphone using my own password or the network password. Reboot of SBG8300 B261 did not fix. What now?

Hello I have a model SGB10 that i purchased approximately four years ago and I am trying to update the firmware. I have had great dificulty tring to log onto the Arris web manager . I read online that the default username/password combo is “admin” and “password” respectively. I tried that and then got a mesage that says “Invalid user name or password, or your access has been locked due to multiple failed login attempts!” I tried using the SSID and key that are on my device’s sticker, but that didn’t work either. If I select “Device Status” then it will bring up the box with info such as # of connected clients, firmare version, etc. Why isn’t there a way to reset passwords via an email link?!? I tried doing a hard reset but that doesn’t seem to have changed the login back to default settings. I have tried using both the original orange Surfboard app as well as the Surfboard Central app and have had made little progess there either. For the orange surfboard

I have an unusual problem. My wifi password ends with an ampersand (&). I thought at first it was just a display problem. When I viewed the password in the surfboard app. the ampersand is encoded to ‘&’. But then when I tried to do some reconfiguration the app asked if I wanted to join the router (since I changed the auto join to off) and it passed the encoded version of the password to my phone’s wifi connection. And now I don’t have wifi at all. Looks like I’ll need to reset and start over. So, please fix the password problem and remove all encoding before display and passing the password string to the wifi connection.

Is there a recent outage with the sbg6400 model from Arris?

For the last two months our internet will randomly drop service and not come back unless we do a physical reset of the modem router. The longer this problem has been happening the more often we have to reset the router and hope our internet comes back. This is a huge inconvenience since both myself and my spouse work from home and rely on our internet connection to do our jobs. Help please. 

A month or so ago my G34 started getting flaky, and now it doesn’t last more than a day or so.After a while, all wifi channels simply disappear from all of my devices (two Macs, an iPhone, an Android tablet, an Amazon Kindle). Those devices call all still see other wifi access points, including xfinity’s semi-public ones.Meanwhile, my desktop Mac is also connected directly via a cat6 cable, and is still working great.Restarting the Gateway restores all access; but only restarting the “Wi-Fi Module” doesn’t help.I can’t see any place to see if my device needs a firmware update or something — is current information hidden somewhere in the 192.168.0.1 management panel?
