Wi-Fi Modems

My sbg8300 will run fine for 5 or 6 day or sometimes only 1 or 2 days and then just randomly powers off completely ( no lights) I unplug it lights come back on it reboots and connects … sometimes for only a couple of minutes then powers back off other times it stays on for days with no issues… I have changed the power cord.tried other receptacles… I have done a factory reset. I can find no pattern … it is in an open environment so doesn’t appear to be overheating related ….warm to touch but not hot. Please help. Thanks

I am needing to port forward my router but its only letting me do certain ports and not others 

Instead of asking for a username, its asking me for an email address. when I input the email I used to log into the app and register the device, it says the email isn’t associated with an account. Any idea how else I could get in. The app is really useless and won’t let me troubleshoot anything. 

SBG8300 shuts off every few hours

I try to connect to my 2.4 g wifi and it says disabled but when I go into my surfboard it’s enabled and I still can’t connect

My main problem has been with dropping internet when I use 2.5Gb port. I have 1.2Gb plan with Xfinity. When I use the 2.5Gb port speed tests are testing ~1.4Gb download. However during normal use especially felt when doing online meetings G36 drops the internet frequently for a couple of minutes.This doesn't happen when I use 1Gb port. Or at least it appears so.Any ideas?Is this related to “G34/G36 Intermittent Connectivity On Xfinity Network”?If G36 is not fully compatible with Xfinity, I will seek for a refund then.

Trying to log into my router via 192.168.0.1. For creds I’m using the email address I use for my Surfboard Central app account (which works fine in the app), and the password on the physical bottom of the router. I get an invalid credentials error. What am I missing?

I need assistance disabling IPv6 in the settings of my Arris SBG8300.  I cannot find the settings in the WAN or Advanced where the IPv6 can be turned off. 

I’ve been having internet connection problems for 3 weeks. The SBG10 we have is at least 4-6 months old (from amazon--new) along with the coax cable. I’ve gone to my ISP numerous times with them always saying ‘it’s fine on our end’ but our connection continues to be spotty with internet going in/out and getting kicked off gaming servers all day.  Normal troubleshooting has already included checking cables, doing hard restarts of the entire modem, cables cables cables. The problem persists as my gaming computer and my roommates PS5 (both hard wired into the modem) get knocked out by the internet. I’m not very into modems but I am very frustrated and a bit tech savvy. I figured I can peek into the event log and create a constant ping in my cmd window. I found the event logs are relaying a “Loss of Sync” issue. The event logs are a bit behind but ARE showing that when I time out of constant connection in cmd, it shows up in the event logs shortly after as a Sync loss. 

I did a factory reset on my SBG10 but it did not reset the admin password back to admin. And I can’t find anyway to change it.  please advise.  

I cannot get my printer to connect since I ditched the cable company’s wireless router for the G36.  I have an HP Smart Tank Plus 551.  The HP app finds all my neighbor’s WiFi accounts but not mine.  Please help!

I just bought a Surfboard router, but connection keeps dropping.

New job, new issues…. How do I disable this on my modem so my phone can accept calls through the Sangoma Talk and Chat apps? 

My cable modem is three weeks out of warranty as of July 12, 2023. I power it down every night and leave it off until morning.I am the only one in the house so it gets used to stream and for some internet with the computer. Over the last year randomly on startup in the morning I would have to switch the computer cable ports because it would not connect to the computer until I did that. Randomly during the day the modem would turn off and then take a long time to boot back up. I thought it was the cable company doing it but now I find differently. On August 5, 2023 on first boot in the morning the system booted as usual then after a minute it shutoff and rebooted for no reason. It took about 5 minutes for it to get to the point where all the lights were lit on the front except the on line light. I tried a manual reset which did not help, I called my provider and they tried to ping the modem and I was told they could not detect the modem. I checked all the connections at that time and

I am unable to enter the router settings through 192.168.0.1 . Keeps returning Warning “Your Connection is Not Private. Started doing this a while back. I am not able to use the WPS because I cannot get in.

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG6580. It stopped working randomly. I have unplugged it. I have reset it. I have replaced all cables. When I plug it in the lights on the front flash once and disappear and all you can see is a faint wireless connection icon. The lights on the back are all on. What is going on?

hi so i just recently changed my router to a arris g36 and my synology media server seems to not be able to show on my network and i cant seem to find any settings to allow it through i also have tried with my wd cloud and nothing

I have a domain that is set up to the router WAN. That appears to work from outside the LAN. But from inside the LAN I cannot access my service (webpage running on Linux) unless I use the IP address directly. I tried to create a Manual DNS Entry, and the router says it accepted the entry, and then I reset the DNS cache on my internal PC, and when I then run tracert it still returns the WAN address, and cannot access the webpage.What am I doing wrong?

Now that my G36 Arris Modem has been rendered useless by Xfinity’s recent upgrade to 10G in my area i would like to return this modem that does not work and get a refund.  I can not find a place on the SurfBoard website that lets you initiate a return process.   Could someon please provide a link to initiate an RMA and/or a number that i can call?

NordVPN doesn’t give an error, it just simply won’t connect at all while on the wifi with the sbg8300 router. any ideas on how to troubleshoot what the error is exactly? I have gotten this with nordvpn on some other wifi networks as well, particularly some airport wifis, etc, but most of the time it just connects.In addition, every time I try to connect a Ring device, it says to “check internet connection”, even on the 2.4ghz network. Any idea how to get that to work?SIP has been disabled already

How do I update my firmware?  I have Xfinity and my latest driver version is 3.0.2.201.

model 3270a has been reset 2 times and I cannot access the modem. I cannot set wifi with the code provided, Right now I am frustrated and at a loss of what to do.

I see from the online community that to change wifi name and pw you log into an UNSECURE site in your browser 192.168.0.1. Even with the ethernet cable my network and computer are like no way, not secure, people can get your pw, credit card numbers etc. WHY??? Is this seriously the only way this company has allowed this to be changed?
