Cable modems with built-in Wi-Fi router

Do we need to update firmware? My current firmware is 01.01.137.NCS?
I can’t connect my canon mx922 printer to the surfboard G36 router, my network is up and running but not able to connect the printer
Had to upgrade to new ROUTER/MODEM. G34. Network test results : "HP printer is unable to connect to your wireless router". My MAC filtering IS turned off. DIAGNOSTICS RESULTS show everything good, EXCEPT under settings: no filtering -FAIL.
I am trying to create my own user id and password but I get this message: Invalid user name or password, or your access has been locked due to multiple failed login attempts! I’ve re set my modem 3 times, cleared my cache and still locked out.
I just got my WiFi service installed with Xfinity and I have my own Arris surfboard modem/router. The WiFi won’t seem to connect and the blue light on the WiFi signal keeps blinking. The WiFi does not seem to be connecting and won’t work on my phone or laptop. How do I get it to connect? Unplugging it and restarting it doesn’t work.
On a fairly regular basis my G34 Wifi router/modem will stop broadcasting the SSIDs for 2.4 and 5. I’ve tried restarting and a reset. Nothing seems to make it stable. It still passes wired traffic and I have a TPLink AP that broadcasts without issue. None of the built in diagnostic tools are providing answers.
greetings, I recently purchased an ARRIS surfboard SBG10 through Best Buy. When I was researching this item, the website indicated it was a modem and router combo, however, when I picked up the item, the description on the box only said ‘wifi cable modem’. When the technician came to install my service, he informed me that this was only a modem and didn’t have the router.I checked other images, including the ones on the ARRIS website, and the box description said ‘cable modem and wifi router’ clearly for product SBG10 while mine does not say this.My question is, how can I verify the device I purchased is a combo gateway instead of a just a modem as described on the box? Thanks
Have a SBG 8300 gateway and I am unable to connect to my work server. Internet connection is fine. I unfortunately have basically no understanding of how this works. My IT person says it’s a xfinity problem, xfinity says it’s a modem problem. Which I believe because I can log on everywhere but home.
i currently have xfiniti 200mb service to my home when i do a speed test from any device hard wired to the modem its great i get that speed. When i do a device speed test that is on wifi I only get 20mb at best upload is consistant for bot WIFI connected devices and ethernet connected. Why is my WIFI download so low? how do i fix it.
Ethernet works, but I don't see WIFI. Friends see “my” WIFI on their computers/smart phones. (I don't have a smart phone) When I log in to Surfboard, it says unsupported Browser.
Xfinity has been bugging me about my ancient modem so updated with Arris SBG10 modem/router, which I got from Ebay. Overall setup was straightforward and it basically works, but DHCP service is weird. I add entries to the list of reserved clients, following the “add”/”apply” protocol. I get the refresh/log back in routine as described in the tutorial. But the entries don’t stay on the list over refresh/reboot. I also tried changing a linux computer on my home LAN to Fixed IP, but the SBG10 doesn’t consistently accept that address. Sometimes it does, sometimes it assigns a new address. My SBG10 also seems erratic just showing all attached clients. Is the SBG10 known to do this sort of thing? Perhaps I just got a bum example?
Randomly at least 2x a day, the wi-fi loses connectivity. At the same time, the ethernet connection works as expected. I then have to restart the modem to restore wi-fi connectivity. Working on my dad’s SurfBoard 6700. Using a mac via Safari. I can access the modem after bypassing the secure connection warnings, then entering the logon credentials. However, I get his page displayed Sure can't do anything with THAT.Something is blocking the full page access.
When I try to connect to the admin page, I get this message: Secure Connection FailedAn error occurred during a connection to 192.168.0.1. Peer using unsupported version of security protocol.Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. This website might not support the TLS 1.2 protocol, which is the minimum version supported. It happens on every browser I have. I saw a similar post and the person was told to disconnect the coax cable. Clearly this doesn’t work, because the problem is that the admin page has security issues. I don’t really feel like paying $40 for a live chat, and I can’t time travel back to Internet Explorer where I could override security flaws, so, what are the options?
Upgraded my modem/gateway/router from SBG6900 and G34 and immediately had problems with my TIVO mini’s being unable to connect to the Host DVR. Problem lasted a couple of weeks with no help from ARRIS (assured me nothing internally was being blocked) or TIVO (couldn’t tell me what protocol they used for discovery).Problem was solved when I discovered the setting for “Zero Config” (Bonjour type discovery) under Advanced > Device Discovery > Zero Config was disabled. Enabling it allowed my TIVO mini’s to immediately connect to the host DVR. Note that this setting is on a page that is mainly about UPNP.This could affect anyone else who has printers or other devices that use the Bonjour Zero config capability to connect to one another.
