When trying to connect PS5 to surfboard wifi, it says connection too weak . Modem is one room away. Help.

I recently received an e-mail from Comcast telling me that my Arris modem was no longer compatible with their speed increase (?), and that I needed to upgrade. I bought my modem directly from Arris. I was about to shop for another modem through Comcast (that they conveniently provided a link for), when I noticed that the modem that Comcast claimed I had was different from the one I actually have. I called Comcast and they finally admitted that they sent me the wrong info. They concluded by saying my modem was “somehow still compatible” I called Arris to verify and they gave me the correct info. If anyone who has Comcast gets this e-mail, make sure they are referring to your modem, and check with Arris directly before buying another modem!

Currently connected via wireless to Arris Surfboard SB8200. I want to connect directly to modem via network cable but when I do that I get the message: Status-Connected; Ethernet has a self assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet. Is there a setting I can change in the Modem to allow connectivity ?

A little background first - my COX account is for 500 Mbps, and with theGateway speed tests on the COX website were somewhat greater than 500 Mbps. However, we experienced daily issues with the WiFi, having to reboot theGateway at least once almost every day. Our laptops and other deviceswould lose connection fairly frequently. So, I recently replaced my COX Panoramic Gateway with an Arris SB8200cable modem connecting to a TP-Link Deco X55 (AX3000) mesh system (3 nodes). The setup was easy and our devices don't seem to have any issues connecting.However, download speed tests are now showing 80 Mbps (upload ~10 Mbps). A wired test with my laptop connected directly to a Deco node showed onlya slightly higher download speed of 85 Mbps. According to COX my modem was provisioned properly and it all looks good on their end. I have the S33 and Archer Gx90 router, when I type the default IP. 192.168.100.1. It times out so I cannot log into the modem to check status... If I unhook the router its works fine..... I just dont want the annoying process. Thanks

Just installed SB8200 and activated port 1 through Cox. Setup was smooth. I also have Verizon Home 5G (Cox is unreliable) running with no conflict. I know how to set pass thru for the 5G modem but need to know how to add the IP address to port 2 on the cable modem. Cox refused to help.

I purchased the S33, how can I tell if it's the v2 model?

I am currently getting several dropouts the past few days. I contacted Cox customer service and they stated that Arris has a firmware update for the Sb8200. I went to the site and found nothing. Can anyone please help me with this. Thanks in advance Max

My ISP is Comcast/xfinity. I am using ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 bridge mode. I have a MikroTik RB2011UiAS-RM Routerboard Rackmount 5xLAN 5xGbit LAN 1xSFP connected to ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1. Here is my issue the ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 is a Gig-e port. The RB2011UiAS will not connect to RB2011UiAS as a 1 Gig port. if I hard set the RB2011UiAS to 100 meg both units will connect, but dhcp will not work or pass traffic. Any suggestions.

I cannot seem to get Google WIFI setup with the Arris SB8200

Looks like the firmware on my SB8200 was malfunctioning (long story, but trust me on this). Mediacom tech support told me to request Arris to update my firmware. According to what I’ve read in this Community, it seems like Mediacom should push any/all firmware updates to my SB8200. Related info: hardware reset in my SB8200 cleared up my issues. So the firmware probably was trashed. Going forward, I would appreciate some informed input from y’all before I start getting after Mediacom. Thank you, Dave

Rebooted laptop, modem, and router -- drops still happening and garbling webex audio. Xfinity mobile app is not showing any indication of outages. Fast.com and speedtest.net always eventually revert to normal speed at round 85 Mbps, but still drops happening. On the SB8200 status screen, comparing expected values on https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SB8200-Cable-Signal-Levels to what I see, the one that stands out is upstream bonded channel power is at 37 or 38 for me: whereas the doc says acceptable is 45 - 51. So, what do you think? Is this a real problem? could be THE problem? No idea what this power level was 4 days ago when webex was fine.

Hi everyone! I’m considering upgrading my modem/router with an Arris product. I was wondering if it was possible to purchase an extended warranty so I can be covered in case of an issue beyond the first year. If so, how much does it cost?

Modem just stopped working and couldn’t connect to internet. I had to borrow a loaner from my ISP but I’d much rather use my modem. I’m surprised because it was a new SB8200(had it less than three months) I keep searching around but can’t find somewhere to submit my information for warranty.

I’m trying to connect Google Mesh Pro to my S33 for wireless internet. I previously had this working for years. I just switched to Xfinity Residential and I cannot get the Google Mesh to connect with the Arris. It says ‘No Internet Connection’. Wired connection is working fine. The MAC address of the modem is registered with Xfinity. I found a post on Google Nest site that someone else had the exact same problem. They registered MAC and SSN with Xfinity, but the post said they ‘got with Arris’. It sounds like Arris had to do something? Here is the part of the post “ I reached back out to Xfinity, gave them the information (they all of a sudden knew the issue once I had the answer) and then that’s where your suggestion came in. They sent me along to Arris and they then somehow connected my Nest Pro to the Modem. “

What does it mean when all the icon lights (Power, Receive, send, online) are a solid yellow, but I’m still connected to the internet? I have a 400 Mbps plan and the is no drop in speed. Thanks,

I hope someone can help me. I cannot have my VIP4302 start after I changed my fiber plan with the local service provider (STC Bahrain). My TV account with them is the same and I can receive it on any e-device but not by VIP4302. the device starts and asks for account number and password but then it gives me a screen “initializing”. the screen goes on like this for days. I contacted the service provider and they told me that they are no longer provide any technical support for this device. For me it is now a junk useless piece but I like its quality. Any idea about how to make it receives from open sources? Thank you in advance

Is this possible? My tv lacks the necessary optical or digital outlets so I want to connect my 5342W set-top box to the home threater, but connecting the HDMI via a splitter doesn’t seem to work. Is there some way of setting the box’s audio output so it will work?

Hello everyone! Have been looking all over the internet and I can’t find an answer. My modem’s power supply stopped working today after almost one year of usage so I know it’s not age related. used my multimeter and it was reading 5V so I knew my power supply failed. I got a new AC universal adapter with the required 12V A1.3 and nothing. No power whats so ever. I checked on every outlet. Found a random backup power supply with the 12V A1.0 and still nothing!! I’m losing my mind I can’t afford to buy a new one. Please let me know if y’all have any similar stories or solutions thank you!!

I have been fighting a dropped signal with my 6190 and Cox internet services. I pulled logs today and spoke to Cox. They claim that they saw an error on the side of the modem. I’m suspecting the drop line myself. This dropped connection only seems to occur when video chatting is ongoing and there is a high level of upload speeds occurring. Any help appreciated. Please see logs below.

I have an Arris Surfboard Modem and it constantly reboots itself. It happens randomly throughout the day and its been happening for two weeks now. Sometimes it loops itself - so it will reboot, stay up for a couple minutes, power down and reboot again. Power cycling doesn't help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just got the S33 as my previous modem was no longer supported and I had been having connection issues. With the S33 I am still having connection issues, I believe it’s the line, but in trying to troubleshoot myself I went to look at the Event Log and nothing shows up. Why is this? Do need a new software version? All my status parameters are fine.

Hi there! I have an ARRIS SB6190 that I bought in Jan 2020. I’ve been having some really slow Internet problems. Less than one megabyte per second on download and upload. I called Comcast and had them send a new signal and reprovision my modem but it's still very slow. I was able to hardwire into my modem and everything seems to be moving really quickly now. Any thoughts on why my Wi-Fi is so slow? I've cycled the modem a number of times and it doesn't help.

My modem SB6190 has been dropping connection every night. Comcast says the signal to my modem is good and they don’t see the lose of connection. Since I own my modem, they said it could be something Arris needs to look at. Any help?

I’m trouble shooting SB6190 modem issues. I have white lights on power and online LEDs. ISP can see the modem is connected on their end, but I don't have service. The white lights also appear to have faint green LED lit up simultaneously. Is my modem cooked?
