Does SB6190 have parent controls? I cant find them on Surfboard Cemtral ap.

I bought the SB6190 router a couple years ago and it’s been working great. However, I recently moved into a new house that has an outdoor security camera, which requires a 2.4 GHz network. The house is also fairly large, so it might be helpful to switch from 5GHz to 2.4GHz given the improved range. Thanks in advance!Ted

I’m able to login to the admin portal of my S33 using a browser but having trouble using SURFboard Central app.On the WELCOME page, I’ve entered my Email ID, agreed to terms and conditions, and when I tap SIGN IN under “Already Registered?”, I’m brought back to the first WELCOME page that asks, “Please enter your email address to access your account”.  I enter my Email ID and tap “SIGN IN” and it takes me to the WELCOME page again to create my account or sign in if already registered.I’m on an endless loop.

I bought an ARRIS SURFBOARD 6190 on October 17 last year at Office Depot.The Modem stopped working yesterday, after only 7 months. No power to the modem. Power adapter was OK, Power Outlet was OK, Modem not working. I called ARRIS support, they said the warranty is not covered here because Office Depot is not an authorized dealer for ARRIS. This is absolutely dissatisfying and the first time I heard it. Will never again buy this brand.  Modem replaced with a Netgear device…. 

The event log generated by my S33 cable modem contains detailed information about the modem’s operation and errors encountered during its normal operation. However, definitions explaining the contents of the event log are astonishingly not included in the user’s manual. Google searches had me going in circles. Does anyone know where can I find the meanings of the various event levels and error messages?What twisted and deluded logic did Arris use to decide that excluding such critical information was a good idea? What's the point of providing this information, yet making the definitions difficult to find?

So what is the difference between red & blue box? Older and newer? Other and 10 Gbps and 2 Gbps 

We have Kumo Cloud software for our airconditioners and now that we have the Arris sb6190 they are not communicating with our phones.  We’ve been told that Kumo cloud will only work on 2.4.  How do we get the Arris Sb6190 to change to 2.4?

The modem has worked perfectly for over a year.  Now the downsteam light is off while the other three are normal.  I have done a hard reset using the button on the back.  The modem works but then it won’t work and we have to reset it.  I accessed the modem and all the levels seemed ok.  Is this a warranty replacement issue?  I can send you a copy of the status page.

Hi, folks, I’m trying to set up this model of modem for a VDSL service and while the modem acknowledges that it is a VDSL2 connection when set to automatically detect, it never connects to the internet. I have sync but no connectivity. Light status is as follows: Power greenGlobe redWave 1 greenWave 2 offWifi green All lights are solid. I am using PPPoE to connect. Any help you can provide in setting up this connection would be greatly appreciated. We have tried other modem brands on this same VDSL connection with no issue, so it’s not the line.

So I switched from a old arris modem / router to a surfboard sb8200. I purchased a router with it since the sb8200 is only a modem. Now when I try to log into the modem to adjust settings I cannot log in. I have forgotten my old user name and password and I have attempted to reset the device and use the admin / password login but it still tells me incorrect username and password. Is this something I am going to have to contact customer support for? Or is there an easier fix?

I have been a long time user of Arris modems. My new S33 that I have had for three months quit working today. It was very hot to the touch and I suspect it was overheating. My old Arris modem was relinked and works fine so I know it’s a modem problem. Arris refuses to repair/replace the modem because it was purchased new off of ebay. Wrapped in a box…… Never connected to the internet. Half of me understands this policy but the unwillingness to help does not. No offer of a partial credit even. I’ll be switching to a different company and will never purchase from you again. Its not about money for me. It’s the unwillingness to do absolutely anything. So here I go to look for other brands. 

Hey everyone. I noticed my receive is light not on and thr other 3 are like a yellowish green. The internet still works but reading the manual says all the lights "should" be on. Anyone got any insight? Thanks!

Hi everybody. Just hooked up my Arris SB8200 and now some of my Roku channels won’t load. Any ideas why?

I have a new SB8200 on a new install. I can access the internet fine when wired to one of the SB8200 ports. When i connect my router’s WAN port to it, no device on my router gets traffic. There are no settings for bridge mode that I can find in the web UI of the SB8200. How can I get my router to work? It IS in DHCP mode for its WAN port.

Can I rename the default SSID to the one I want  

SB6190 on Spectrum - 500 Mbps plan - No issues for the past 6 years, but last month started seeing  Lost MDD Timeout errors - on average once a day at different times. Does not appear to impact throughput and no noticable connection drop. Throughput when tested is typcially 580 Mbps down and 23 Mbps up. Up until last month I have never seen that error message.First tech replaced all connections and removed a Forward Path Attenuator (that they installed several years ago) as he thought the upstream power was too high (51.5)2nd tech replaced the drop from the street with rg11, but errors continue.Modem is connected to drop with a 75 foot rg6 coax with one double female connector (that was replaced by first tech)Current plan is too move the modem so it is connected to the drop with a 6 foot coax and run ethernet from modem to the router to see if errors go away and if they still exist, will replace the modem with a new DOCSIS 3.1 modem before

Whenever I go to the Arris website 192.168.0.1 to change my passwords, it says the website has an outdated security configuration and that it’s not a safe connection because people can see my password. What should I do about this?

I have recently purchased a SURFboard SB8200 and was working thru the activation with Xfinity. During the activation process the agent said they received an error code that the serial number already exists. Error code [] [].(!{2}!) This unit was brand new. How do I get around this?

To minimize vulnerability, can I change the admin password before I connect the cable for internet access? Or does it require xfinity activation first?

SURFboard SB6183 has blue lights that shine out the side. How can these be disabled? I’m willing to cut some wires.

My SB8200 had been working fine for more than a year and a half, but this morning, it went catatonic.  Front panel lights were all still good, but the (separate) router could no longer see it.  The router itself seemed fine.  Rebooting the router made no difference.  Rebooting the modem re-established the connection and everything was fine. About an hour later, the modem went catatonic again.  Another reboot, and everything was fine.  This time I tried to log into the modem to see if there was any useful information in the event log.  It told me my username or password was incorrect, which is highly unlikely since I use a password manager.  After multiple attempts to log in, I had to use the last 8 characters of the serial number as the password.  That worked, and I’ve reset the password. The event log had no useful information, but I noticed the time of the most recent event was more than an hour earlier--before the most recent reboot!  I checked the sta

Greetings and salutations — I have two Arris modems — an SB8200 with WOW/RCN/Astound service and a T25 with Comcast/Xfinity service connected to a router.  The router has multi-pathing enabled and balances remote destination addresses across the two WAN connections.  Under normal circumstances, this works well.  If Comcast’s service fails, the T25 blinks out, the router removes it as a routing option, and life goes on.  BUT, if WOW service goes out, the SB8200 doesn’t blink out with it — instead it switches from being a bridge to WOW’s network to being a gateway to nowhere.  It leases my router a new address from its built-in pool and carries on.  This is an incredibly annoying behavior because it results in external addresses being balanced between the remaining WAN connection (Comcast) and a black hole (WOW.)  Devices on my internal network can get to e.g. ibm.com but not e.g. google.com.  Is there a way to force the SB8200 to function as a bridge when it looses sign

Hello Arris Community! I just purchased a brand new Arris SB6190, but am a little concerned about the power supply. The modem is rated at 12V, 0.75A input, while the power supply that came with it is rated at 12V, 1A. For most electronics, I would only using a matching power supply to avoid damaging the device. Does the modem have some tolerance to make this acceptable, or was I somehow given the wrong power supply with my purchase? Thanks for the feedback!

No internet connection told that my I p address is bad

I was told by cox communications that my ip address  is bad and I need a new one. How do I do that
