SB8200

I recently install and SB 8200 Modem and every devise that I have had no problem getting internet connectivity on every device except my Honeywell Gateway.  I use a Netgear switch.Working with the Honeywell team they are convinced that there is something preventing their gateway from connecting to the modem.  They sent me the email below in an attempt to do some trouble shooting:I am sending you some network recommendations that might cause that your thermostat can't connect to your home network. You may your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and check the next settings. 2.4Ghz, or 5GHz network. The TH9585WF will only connect to the 2.4GHz.  Enterprise Business Networks requiring RAS, Guest networks, or networks requiring Web Portal authentication are not supported. Recom

SB8200 hardware version 4 is not attempting to update firmware after activating with Spectrum. I need the update so that I can enable link aggregation.  I used the Spectrum live chat feature and the agent told me they won't push an update because it's 3rd party hardware even though it's on their approved device list. I tried a reset to see if that would make a difference, but no. I'm including a copy of the event log from after the reset, in case that is any help.  

Just installed an SB 8200 and I want to make sure I have the maximum network security that this device will supply. How do I check/adjust the security settings? 

if it is not is it a problem?when or if will Comcast usual do an update?I just got it in today.. so far so good.I did have problems with the default login 3 or 4 tries and it finally worked with the last 8 digits of the serial number. Information Standard Specification Compliant Docsis 3.1 Hardware Version 6 Software Version AB01.02.053.05_051921_193.0A.NSH

My SB8200 modem is only connecting with Docsys 3.0 (Green) on upstream.  The downstream is blue however.  Any thoughts on what is causing this?

Comcast said the first time our netgear modem may be too old, even though it was a docsis 3.1.  We got a motorola a few days later and had the same issues.They came back a few weeks later and replaced the old rg58 drop (they should have done that a long time ago)  and ran a new cable from the pole all the way to the modem outlet. Signal improved, dropouts slightly improved but still goes out for minutes to an hour. A week later they came back again, replaced a port on the pole and adjusted the DB down a little. But didn’t make any difference. On the comcast board someone said that motorola may have a firmware issue causing all the errors on the OFDM channel. So we got the SB8200 and this one too is having dropouts and the log is full of errors. Comcast says everything looks fine on their end.  It’s doubtful we had 3 bad modems in a row. All these errors are just from just 2 hours of uptime and we are loosing connection every 5 minutes now.

I have a SB8200 surfboard modem.  Trying to connect my LG tv to the wifi but do not know how to find the password.  I’ve looked on the bottom of the modem and tried everything there but nothing works.  The other thing that is strange is that the tv and my computer call the a MOTOF512...and not an Arris surfboard.  Maybe Motorola used to own Arris or something.  I don’t know.  Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!

I am having an issue with something eating my allowed data for the month. I contacted Arris for support and pointed out an issue with the log file and they failed to acknowledge a problem.   They had me reset it.   The problem repeats.  The log can easily get overloaded and fail to allow you to log in and get the reports.      So I need the logs.   I  am having problems both with my internet provider at the same time.  I have been online and on the phone with them.  I have had the cable repairman out.  The cable repairman insists that the input power levels are sufficient and that if he increases them the reflections it will cause too much noise.  I used this forum as well.   I noticed the modem would report that it had issues with updating software when it was started up.   And what help did I get from this forum?   Now I get a message they have closed out my topic and lists it solved.   I have two big companies pointing their fingers at each other and I am stuck in the middle.  I have spent 40 hours of effort trying to solve this issue.  A bit frustrate

Hi! I’ll start with my first question. Does the CM8200 support LAG(LACP)? and also I can’t access my web interface on my SB8200 from a 192.168.0.0/24 network, is this a known bug? It’s not shutdown in the config file. What is the current version of firmware on DigialCM? My ISP (Midco) seems to think that two year old firmware is up to date.

New Surfboard 8200 User. I can access the WebManager fine with a computer plugged directly in. Should I also be able to access it when the computer is going through my switch>router>modem? It doesn’t connect for me.

So my original problem was that my internet connection was dropping (Xfinity) so we scheduled a tech to come out for a fix.The initial issue was resolved because it turned out that the line was damaged and the house we moved into had multiple splitters that were causing our signal to "leak" he mentioned that he was surprised that we had a connection at all from how bad it was, he disabled all the other Coax outlets that weren't in use and our issues were fixed for that day.I should note that Prior to this visit we had our Arris SB8200 modem's lights as Blue for downstream. (speeds are 600+mbs Down and 30mbs Up)After his visit the internet went down that night only to return in the morning but the lights on the Modem turned all Green and occasionally flicker (and have remained green) but occasionally it turns Blue for downstream for about 5-10 seconds whilst the connection drops only to return to green again.For ex. any stream/Netflix video/Game that is ru

Have a new SB8200 I can log in but as soon as I select any option it goes back to the login screen.  I can’t see logs or get to help.. Please help or I will have to return it to the store

My Internet goes down pretty much the same time every night and comes back on around the same time every morning. Usually it'll go down anywhere from 3 o'clock to 5 o'clock in the morning and then it'll come back up around 8 o'clock in the morning almost on the dot every day. I've talked to our Internet technician probably 20 times over the past three weeks and they have even come out to the house and they cannot find anything wrong. All they keep saying is that I should rent a modem from them which I do not want to because I just recently sb8200 for almost $150. By the time the tech even comes out of course the net is back online.  I really do not know what to do. I noticed something weird in the event logs, that is goes back to 1970 on the log time/date.  I honestly do not even know what to do at this point, I thought about buying a new modem to see if that even will help and I guess I could always rent one from my Internet company

Looking for wifi extender that will maximize my 500GB signal

I currently have the SB8200 modem that I bought back in 2017. I was looking around at modems to see if I need to upgrade to a newer model and I see that DOCSIS 3.1 is still the top of the line, so I should still be good for a while.However, I saw that the Motorola MB8611 advertises that their modem has Active Queue Management (AQM). I can’t find any reference to AQM on the Arris site, but I did find that it is part of the DOCSIS 3.1 spec. Is this just a case of Motorola listing a feature that every DOCSIS 3.1 compliant modem has, or does Arris not have AQM in the SB8200?

Purchased new SB8200 in February and installed and activated it per Comcast and Arris instructions.  Had new Linksys MR9600 router already installed and operating. Had no trouble for a few weeks and for 3 months now recurring crashes and DOCSIS 3.1 dropped to DOCSIS 3.0.  However, the DOCSIS chipset remains online to Comcast and they show the modem and system still up and operating with no indication or record of outages from their viewpoint.  Had 5 Comcast technician onsite inspections and nobody has the answer.  Currently have a borrowed Comcast Xfinity modem in place and absolutely no outages, slow downs, or connection issues which is at least circumstantial evidence that the Arris SB8200 modem is faulty.  Rebooting resumes internet connection and service but only briefly before another crash.  I do not know whether SB8200 is incorrectly configured but I changed nothing after taking it out of the box and would not know how anyway.  If there is a solution I would be interested in

Hello, I just got off the phone with Spectrum to activate my SB3200. The LEDs on the unit seem off. I’ve attached photos of the LEDs, as well as the Status page from the web interface.Most of the videos and photos I’ve seen online show the up and downstream being blue, and the internet green… In my case, the downstream is blue, the upstream seems to be white(?) and the internet/power also seem to be whiteish green, but not bright green like I see in other photos and videos… I’m assuming my upstream is not DOCIS 3.1...When the unit boots up, all LEDs are the typical bright green.Please see photos. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure this thing is setup correctly, or if I need to escalate this with Spectrum.  

I’m not sure if this was posted before but will the SB8200 have WiFi by itself? Thanks in advance.

I just had this activated last night and having some channel issues and only the downstream light is blue. The upstream light is green. Spectrum  says they don’t see any problems. Is this normal? 

I have my Surf Board connected to a router and can get Wi-Fi internet just fine.  But all of my Ethernet wires throughout the house connected to the router aren’t receiving a signal.  I tried plugging in an Ethernet cable straight to my laptop and still no internet.  I’ve tried resetting and rebooting both the modem and router and still no internet through Ethernet.  What am I missing?

just tried a Arris SB8200 on Vyve cable's gig plan (they say max of 960mps).I couldn't get above about 600mbs so Vyve sent out a tech who replaced something on the pole feed (anyone know what that might be?) That got me up to the 800 neighborhood but no further. Thinkin it might be modem prob so so contacted Arris tech support.  He said (and confirmed when I asked a different way) that the SB8200 would not go above 800mbs on several major carriers result of a technical implementation.The tech said that I had two options:Change vyve plan to one that had max of 800 mbs, or:Buy another Arris (also DOCSIS 3.1) modem - the Arris S33.Clearly, although a modem is advertised as DOCSIS 3.1 compliant, who knows what speed you can get in the home/office installation.any way for me to get full speed from the gig plan or do I have to buy (yet) another modem???  ///
