Purchased SVG2482AC new today...got internet connection and voice service but no wifi and customer service is gone for the day. Internet keeps telling me every website is not secure and to go back. Can anyone help, please? 

Hello allI installed a G36 a few months ago and when I would use 192.168.0.1 to login into the router I would get a screen saying a secure https connection is being established and I would see https in the URL. Now that screen has disappeared and I cannot manually type in https://192.168.01.I would like to re-enable the https connection. I’m on Xfinity. Any pointers would be appreciated!Thanks

Hello everyone. The MoCA configuration on my Arris TG3452A modem keeps going back to disabled after a restart. So every time an outage or anything happens that restarts the router, I have to go to the only part of the house where WiFi works, log into the device, and re-enable it so the extenders work again. If I’m not home, then everyone is up in arms. We work from home, so that’s a problem.Does anyone have a clue why this setting would switch itself off on a restart?The thing I’ve had this modem router for years and it used to retain its MoCA configuration just fine. For some reason this problem started a few months ago when we switched to a faster service tier. I can’t say it’s the cause of it, but it coincided with it. I’m wondering if a firmware update introduced the issue.Two people at my ISP said it must be a faulty unit. They swapped it for a new one. I just tested it by simply restarting it (not resetting it, just restarting) from the web interface. Same problem.A third person

Well after talking to Cox on the phone and in the store, they can’t activate my new S34 modem.  This company really needs to stop advertising that it is compatible, because in Las Vegas, it is not.  I hope Amazon will take it back, if not I wasted 200 bucks for nothing.

I am aware that there are other firmware related posts but am lost about what to do next.We are Comcast Business internet customers and decided to get our own SB8200v3 modem and WiFi router as the Comcast modem / router combinations didn’t offer the features we needed. The modem however crashes every few weeks, what is a problem when I am not in the office as people struggle to trouble shoot and reboot the modem.I spoke today twice with the Comcast support, both associates claimed that they have no access to my modem, what I however believe is not true.Can somebody direct me to how I can get the firmware checked and updated if possible?I currently have the firmware version ( edited personal information )

I was able to locate how to update my Password, however I would also like to change the user name to something other than simply “admin”.  Where is there a link to accomplish a user name update?

I have a Linksys extender RE7000 purchased about 4 years ago,  but not able to connect.  Is it compatible with G20 ?  

My wifi went down, I think its my 6 year old router.  I bought a new wifi 7 router but it hasn’t arrived yet.  I did the factory reset on my SB8200 modem, and I’m trying to reset my wifi name and password.  I’ve never reset the password before (ya, I know you are supposed to for security- I had a friend setup the modem when it was new about 2 years ago).  I’m connected to my modem with an ethernet cable, and when I type in 192.168.0.1, I get into an arris page, but it does not have the “system basic set-up” like the youtube help videos show.  Here’s what I see: I have an old Dell XPS computer from 2015 with windows 10.  How can I access the basic setup page to change my wifi password?  Thanks! 

I have the same problem as listed here that was closed…there was no solution listed.. Does Arris just ignore there issues?? Does anyone have a solution to this problem???

I just got off cable and have internet thru Xfinity. My printer connected fine to Wi-Fi before. Now I have this new combination modem and router and it won’t connect.   I have another printer in another room that connected fine. That was an HP printer.

I cannot get my Acurite Connect to connect to the Arris G34 - the ethernet light will not come on either device.  I have changed the cord and checked the settings- help, please?

Won't connect to router. Will connect to computer but only one. As soon as you move the cable to a different computer the internet is down.

Does anyone know a specific WiFi range extender that works with the G54?

I setup a G34 modem then later purchased a WC4T with 2 routers.  After multiple cycles through the setup process I have the Modem wired to one of the WC4T with the second WC4T connected with no ethernet cables.  All three have Wi-Fi enabled.  I wasn’t able to have the Surfboard Central app connected to the WC4T and the G34 Modem at the same time.  I don’t know if I would have been able to setup the system without a Computer to configure the G34 Modem and a Mobile device with the Surfboard app to configure the WC4T devices.It was frustrating to have continued failed attempts to setup a WC4T before realizing how to remove the G34 from the Surfboard app to get the WC4T to connect successfully.  I then struggled connecting the second WC4T before only getting it to connect correctly without an ethernet cable attached.Pass → G34 wired to WC4T wireless to WC4TFail → G34 wired to both WC4TIt took multiple days of trial and error to get to this setup.Is this the optimal setup?  I’ve tried to pu

How do you set up a VPN with a G36?

I am using an SB6183. Xfinity said I could use it, so I bought it to save some money.Xfinity app recognizes that I’m using it, and services are activated. I can get online via the ethernet cable, but cannot connect wirelessly. When I tried to activate the surfboard via the app, it was not listed. Rather, a link to an older app was suggested for me to download. This app is not available on my phone because the app is too outdated.Why can’t I activate it via a website browser?  frustrated. Just want to connect my phone and xbox to my home internet.

Cannot get faster that 50Mbps speeds from my SBG7600ac2 Wifi.  Wired ports are at 600Mbps.  Does anyone have any suggestions/Ideas.

I have just installed a G36 to replace an old Linksys.  Everything is working fine except my vuescan scanning software.  It cannot find my Canon MB5120.  Everything else is the same.  I have a Dell G15 computer running Windows 11. Everything up to date. Everything is the same except the router.  I have other scanner software that finds the scanner and works fine.  The author of the vuescan software says that  the router is blocking access for the software but offered no additional help.  I have a little knowledge and experience with computers but don’t know how to go about fixing this.

I have about a 5 year old SB6190. Downstream light is bright blue, but my upstream light is either white or out. I contacted my provider and everything shows fine on their end….download of 500 MBPS and upload of 25 MBPS. Is it possible my upload LED has burnt out. I rebooted it and the green LED is flashing as it powers back up, but the download light goes to Blue and the Upload light appears white when it is back on line. Is my modem going?

So here’s a bit of weirdness.  Just bought a G36 and everything seemed fine.  I gave the “Primary Home” 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID’s the same names and passwords as the old modem, so all my devices should all automatically connect without having to select a new network and enter passwords.  Or so I thought.  After a few minutes I realized all my PC’s and Ring devices were connected and sending/receiving data, but none of my Apple devices were.  They showed as connected to the old (same as new) SSID names, but no data.  This was simultaneous with my PC’s and Ring devices sending/receiving data.  I tried forgetting the networks and re-entering passwords on the Apple devices, nothing worked.  Out of desperation, I tried using the two “Guest” SSID’s and all the Apple devices connected with data.  I honestly don’t know or understand why it worked, but it did.  Just thought I’d share.

Mediacom is my ISP and they are doing an upgrade to their system that will disable all DOCSIS 3.0 modems.  They now only list 2 modems as compatible with their service - Netgear CM2500 and CM3000.  They seem to be promoting mid/high split technology.  I would like to buy a Surfboard SB8200.  My questions are: Will the SB8200 work with Mediacom? Does Arris sell any modems that are mid/high split capable?

I have the G54 wifi/router and recently purchased the 2 pack of the mesh devices W121.  Spent hours trying to get the W121 to work without success.  Do I need to change a setting in the G54 unit to make this work?  App keeps giving error codes which do not appear to provide answers.Please help.
