I recently purchased a G36 with the intention of eliminating Comcast’s rental XB8 modem at $15 per month. Comcast recommended the G36 as a DOCSIS 3.1 cable compatible modem with download speeds up to 4 Gbps. I have 2 Gbps service from Comcast. I did the install of the G36 and I’m only getting 1.2 Gbps maximum wired out of this modem despite Comcast showing 2 Gbps coming out of their coax cable.I spoke to Arris Tech Support who have been very helpful and they told me my modem was not commissioned correctly by Comcast. Comcast field tech is trying to tell me that my Surfboard G36 is correctly commissioned for 2 Gbps. How can I prove to Comcast that the G36 hasn’t been commissioned correctly?  

I upgraded my Comcast / Xfinity speed to 1000 GBPS but my speed test only shows up to 313MBPS. I tried and got the same result when tethered on WAN and on WIFI  I’ve tried restarting the modem and router both from Xfinity’s app and power cycling the modem / router. Still no change. I called Comcast/Xfinity and they said I need to lease their latest router / modem for $15/month. Is there no other way to get close to the 1 GBPS speed that I paid for?

Replaced my router with another surfboard C 34. I think it finds it every time I try to log into it. It says failed. I have unplugged it. I have reset the router I have added seven other devices. I can’t get the printer on there.

I have bought the arris sb6183. I noticed the box does not come with a password for it. Will I be able to access the internet with this if I connect it to wall with coaxial cable plug in power and connect Ethernet to computer and typing in the code starting with 192. or is this setup incomplete?

I have the arris g54 model and the internet keeps cutting out.  I will have connection then will lose connection, then it will come back.  Solid blue light, then blinking green, then solid blue.  I've reset the modem numerous times, contacted xfinity and nothing works.

For the SVG2482AC unit I am trying to turn off the onboard wifi.  I plug into it with a cable, check IPconfig and see 10.0.0.1 as the gateway but I cannot log in with either Edge or Firefox.  Just spins, never prompts for credentials.  This wifi seems to be conflicting with my already existing wifi system

Hi. I have been using a streaming service called Xtreme HD IPTV for about 6 months now with no issues until the past few days where I cant seem to get any service on on it.  They are saying it an issues with my ISP ( Xfinity) but when i call them they tell me its and ARRIS issue and that Xfiniity cant help. The support team is telling me to disable an xFI advance security.. but i have no clue how to do this.  Any help for resolution on this is greatly appreciated.  

My PC isn't receiving an internet connection from my surfboard modem. I talked to Xfinity and there's no issues on their side. All the lights are the colors they are supposed to be. (Green blue blue green) but I'm getting no internet through the ethernet cable. I've tried several cables as well and it hasn't helped. Everything is plugged in correctly as well. I've tried resetting the PC numerous times and the modem as well. I've tried turning my firewall off and that doesn't work either. I can't think of anything else I can possibly do. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. 

We bought this modem about two years ago. In June 2023 (about ten months after we bought it) the problem started. We would lose connection and then it would slowly come back. Since it was in warranty, I contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement. While I waited for the replacement to come, I borrowed an old Motorola modem from a friend. It worked fine, so I didn’t bother using the replacement Arris.We moved some things around this past weekend so I figured I’d put the replacement Arris into use. It (the fresh out of the box Arris) seems to be having the same issue as the one it replaced. This makes me think it was probably not a mechanical error.I took a video of the lights on the modem so that I could describe it in this forum. When the modem's working properly, there are five lights lit, but the second from the bottom, which I think is for the WiFi, flickers repeatedly. I want to setup a wifi channel just for my kids devices that I then control access to at night. I want to be able to turn off the wifi at 9pm for example, and then turn it back on in the morning automatically.

Hi,I have sbg8300 modem.  It suddenly drops connection intermittently.  Internet provider tech said signal is strong.  Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot?  Internet provider is Starlight.   

I have my set-up with Arris (my old unit), Netgear WiFi 7 Router and Ooma Phone.  I need to upgrade my Internet Modem to allow for the Ooma Phone, which is hooked up to my Netgear.  Which Arris Modem would work for my set-up?

I have a SBG8300-9D65 and I have agreement with Xfinity for 1Gbps, so I should expect at least 800Mbps but I’m getting less than 100Mbps.This used to work well always over 650Mbps… suddenly I’m having this slow speed.Xfinity tech came to my home and tested the cable from the outside connection box to the connector inside my home, he said it is good, up to 1.4Gbps…My modem is on warranty until March 2025.Should I request a RMA? or there is a tech support for troubleshooting?Any firmware update that I could apply? and how?   

The company uses a Zyxel EX5501 (as labeled), but it's running Arris firmware (likely a dreadful carrier-customized version), which is extremely difficult to use. It doesn’t allow changing the WiFi name or password, only functions as an AP, can’t assign IP addresses, and the backend is very hard to access—I had to search through a ton of resources online just to get in. Worst of all, the upgrade page only allows firmware uploads smaller than 8MB. This isn’t a half-finished product; it’s junk. How can I flash it back to the original Zyxel firmware? 

We have router model SBG6700-AC.All of a sudden our phones will not connect to router. Our computer will. Phones are saying incorrect password but password has not been changed. Same phones also

Then ARRIS G34 gets denied and it's Engineering because ISP provider Sparklight and Cable One are not allowing the  ARRIS G34,  itself to compete with other Routers and Wifi models.  Maybe it's time for a change in brands. Correct. 

Help setting up ARRIS SB6190

After moving to a new location (moved to an older house as opposed to being in an apartment), SB8200 can’t establish a downstream connection. Getting errors very similar (almost exact same status message) to the ones in the following post:I also am getting multiple instances of “UCD invalid or channel unusable” and “No ranging response received.” Modem has worked for 2 years and has only started failing after the move. Checked and the warranty has expired in March of this year. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? Thanks!

Before I go into detail, I want to proactively thank  this community for the help you can provide us.  Thanks!!  Our Wi-Fi account is no longer available on our house system. Our WiFi provider did several tests/checks and said their signal to us was good. They referred us to Arris because we bought an Arris SB8200 modem and router which has worked fine so far. It sounds like we need help setting up a new account through your modem. I have no idea how to do that. 

Just received my Arris Surfboard S34. Contacted Xfinity and have it activatedI have an ethernet cable connected from the modem to my computer.I cannot access: 192.168.100.1It reads: “Safari can’t open the page “192.168.100.1” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding. 

I have Spectrum 400MB plan.  Can I use either S33 or S34 modems?   Particularly attaching to company VPN.  I've been told that my connection has a lot of Jitter.  Will either of these devices help that?

I have bought a new modem SB8200 and router Tp Link Archer AXE75 for few months.On Saturday October 26, 2024, my wifi stopped connecting to Internet. I followed this site instructions https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1556/. I removed the power cable and coaxial cable from SB8200 modem, then waited for 1 minutes. I turned on the SB8200 modem and waited to for it to startup. After it booted up, I plugged in the coaxial cable and my wifi stopped giving “connected without internet” and everything was fine. But this happened on Sunday the next day, I redid the steps on I took on Saturday. And today, on Monday, I just unplugged the power cable from SB8200 modem and the wifi started working. I think my router is working fine because I don't have to restart it. But I really don't know which of the two, modem or router, is at fault.I hope to get some help to pinpoint the cause and fix this problem. When I try to access my ARRIS SURFboard mAX router, I get the following message:“The device or resource (the local IP-address for the router) is not set up to accept connections on port “HTTPS”.  I have been using the IP-address or xxx.xxx.xxx.1 on my local network.  Is that correct?  If not, what address should I be using?  If it is, how do I correct the issue?

Just got a G34 cant get onto the GUI website. Fully set up in the app I tried hard resetting it fully none of the default passwords work admin wont work as the username it HAS to be an email the password I made for the Wi-Fi didn't work the default password on the back of the router didn't work after or before factory resetting it.  Please help this is annoying
