Can someone tell me how to log in to my SURFboard SVG2482AC?

Hi, I have an Arris TG2482 device. I want to create a VLAN to separate my TV + smart lights etc from the rest of my devices. Please note my networking experience is close to nothing. Is the virtual server the same thing as VLAN? What exactly put in as parameters when creating it? Can someone please guide me through the process? Or at least ease the pain when trying to do it. I have understood that in order for the VLAN to function, I need to link it to one of the physical ports in the Modem/Router TG2482. Is it an issue if I have ethernet cables connected to all of them already? Does the VLAN port need to be empty? Then, how to actually connect a smart light to the VLAN? Thanks for the help :)

Model number is svg2482ac and I cannot access the admin page. I've tried multiple ways from the app, from my computer with ethernet, through wifi, nothing works. My isp says it's is connected and working. What can I do now?

A few weeks ago, outgoing calls from our Panasonic phone system (base station plus wireless handsets) began dropping after 20 - 50 seconds. Xfinity tech rep had us plug the base station directly into the modem - didn’t help. He also found water / ice in the coax connectors and replaced the line all the way to the pole - didn’t help. We plugged an old-fashion wired phone directly into the modem - didn’t help. Xfinity tech rep’s only other thought was that we had a modem problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a suggestion?

I had a TM1602A that crapped out on me so I replaced it with the same one...now, I can't connect with my optimum router. Do I need to buy a new optimum modem?? Since this newly replaced modem is refurbished...I dont know the password or how to get it....any help would be great!! Tks!

I lost my username to be able to log into my router so I can change the network password. I see that my modem isn’t supported any longer. I know it has been changed from the default, and I’m on my last attempt before I get locked out. Help!

I’ve been dealing with Comcast for a month to get voice service on an existing cable line. They were finally able to provision the service and send a signal to SVG2482AC so that it appears on the network. There is a dial tone and the modem will make calls. However, if one calls the number associated with the modem, the phone never rings. For the caller, it’s as though the line drops before any connection is made. No fewer than five technical people at Comcast have looked at this. They’ve re-provisioned and re-booted the modem multiple times to no avail. They have a service technician coming onsite tomorrow, but it’s not clear what they’ll be able to do. Any suggestions? I’m going to make sure the modem has the latest firmware before they arrive, but somehow I can’t believe that will help. I have to believe it’s something on Comcast’s end.

How do I update my TG862G router?

The modem disconnects from the internet every 10 minutes and reconnects within 3 seconds. This continues every 10 minutes 24 hours a day. Happens when hardwired as well as WIFI on 5G and 2.4g. Tried a factory reset. Didn’t work. Used different laptops, windows 10 as well as apple for debugging all the same results. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Installed new SVG2482AC modem the Power, US/DS, Online lights are solid steady white BUT 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz & Tel lights blink/flicker continuously. Is it normal for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz & Tel to blink continuously?

I use a SVG2482AC and wifi is slow even nearby. I use TP-Link extenders to help areas of the house where I am most, but wifi speed is still slow. Wired cable modem using Xfinity give me about 750mbs to my MacBook Pro, buy wifi around the house is weak. Will a new maxPRO W31 mesh wifi network work with a SVG2482AC cable modem? Is this the fastest configuration?

What is the best extender to use with a SVG2482AC?

I have been using Parental Controls successfully. A few months ago they just stopped working. I am trying to use Parental Controls to block my child’s access during certain hours. This is no longer working. I have also tried to completely block a device. This has no effect. As an alternative, I tried to download one of your phone apps to manage the device, but I haven’t found one that supports SVG2482AC. Is there an app that works with this device?

Bought a t25 supposedly compatible with optimum, but was used for xfinity. Optimum could activate it, but no phone ot internet worked

Why does my modem keep restarting at least once or twice a day?

I purchased a T25 modem to replace the Xfinity Xfi. I have internet connection from T25 lan port to a pc, but not when T25 is connected to my router. I reconnected the Xfi. Every thing works!!! What am I doing incorrectly for the T25 not to connect thru router? I had a Xfinity tech out today helping. He don’t know either.

I am trying to log on to gateway settings page but I have forgot password. I did a hard reset with paperclip in pinhole reset button on back of gateway(held in for 20 seconds). I went to log in page and used admin as username and password as password but a box popped up and said incorrect password.. What Gives?

I will be installing a SBV3202 modem with Comcast soon. I see the modem’s IP is 192.168.100.1 but my home network is 192.168.1.x range. Is there a way to change the SBV3202 to 192.168.1.1? I do not want to change my home network to match the modem. Thanks, Dennis

Trying to connect phone ( not mobile) to modem. Have spent hours online with xfinity and still nothing. If I reconnect their unit it works. any suggestions? thank you

I purchased a T25 that stopped working, and wondering if Arris has a way to diagnose it for me and repair it ? Given the cost/initial investment of these devices I'd consider repairing it vs. buying a new one. The warranty has expired by a couple of months, but I believe it can be ♻️ recycled ♻️ and/or repaired. Thank you in advance

I had an older modem tm225r that I replaced with a t25 because of fluctuating speed issues. It could vary from 250 or 300 to under a 100 (wired). Measuring from the Ethernet port on the t26 using a laptop and using Comcast speed site,with the new modem I still get under a 100 even though my service says 500 down. There were issues with cabling and connectors that they just replaced. His handheld meter is saying 600 down,but several different laptops said under 100. Any ideas?

Hello all, and happy to be part of the new community! My most recent Arris product was the T25, and I was extremely happy with it as it was very dependable and trouble-free. Last year, I updated my home network to support multi-gig and was surprised/disappointed to see that I didn’t have an Arris option when it came to an eMTA with a 2.5 Gb (or higher) Ethernet port. Even now, I don’t see that Arris has entry on the market… any plans?
