How do I create a Network for my WiFi? Can’t switch to my SVG2482AC Modem with Comcast/ Xfinity because there isn’t a Network to connect to and they won’t help. When I reactivate and connect the rental from Xfinity my old Network pops back up and I can use it. Was “chatting” for hours and all they did was sell me a new phone! 

New Arris modem, t25, on Comcast cable. Power, cable, Ethernet & phone lines all connected. Internet/Wi-Fi work fine. No dial tone on phone? Suggestions.

The modem lights on my T25 are very dim.  I remember them to be much brighter.  They also look amber in color.  Has something been done to cause this?

I have a Loran device which uses a power injector to supply POE.When I hook up the input lan cable to the injector (The mostly non-powered side) and  have the other end directly in the gateway/modem (just called gateway after this) I don’t get a connection.  The lights by the ports don’t light up and my device is not connected according to the UI However, if I use the same cable and go to a switch first, it works just fine.  The lights light up and my device shows connected. Do I need a “crossover” cable in this application ?  (one where the wires have switched positions relative to the jack on opposite ends)Thanks

How do I get my T25 out of bridge mode? I can log in using 192.168.100.1but I don’t see that option. If I perform a factory reset will that do the same thing? Once in standard mode, can I go through my new switch to get wired and wireless devices to the internet from XFinity?

Hello, I was wondering if it possible to use an Netgear AX1800 EAX14 with an Arris SVG2482AC? Is it possible to connect both together with Ethernet. If not what would anyone suggest to use.

I can see the option but it's greyed out.

Recently on my Arris SVG2482AC my ethernet ports have stopped working, WIFI still works fine. The ethernet ports within the web access show they are inactive and down but there is equipment connected but still do not work. Was there a firmware update recently causing these to stop working or is it time to replace, it is almost 6 years old. I have factory reset the router also just as precaution. I have it connected to a UPS with surge protection so thinking unlikely if power surge would have caused an issue. I have other equipment connected to the same UPS with no issues. Thanks

I have been dealing with this issues for quite sometime. And comcast is trying to implicate that there is nothing wrong with the lines yet these error messages are very specific in what's happening. The tech arrived today to tell me that the lines are okay. But the presence of the error codes he could not tell me why they was showing other than the issue is on the modem. Which is a classic move for Comcast. I am asking the community if they have experience this phenomenon. What is the solution? 

Periodically the modem won’t display the caller ID on the phone, just says incoming call.  Ate the same time the voice on the phone call becomes scratchy.  Reboot modem and all is well for a while again.

I have a SVG2482AC with non-responsive parental controls. For about two years I was able to control which devices in my home could access the internet. One day those setting stopped working. All devices can access the internet, at all times of the day and night.The parental controls that I set are not being implemented. I can block a device, and it still can access the internet. Sometimes one device will be listed multiple times with varying IP address. I’ve blocked all the computer names/mac addresses listed for the device I want to block, and it doesn’t work.I’ve tried blocking both windows pc’s  and apple devices. It doesn’t matter.It is worth noting that when a new device is added to the network, it cannot access any website that is on the blocked list. However once it’s be added as a trusted device, the parental controls do not work on it either.How can I gain control over which devices have access to the internet again?

Hey Arris Surfboard Community, need a little help.  I have 2 Arris NVG468MQ routers (Frontier) that I’m trying to connect together to expand the network within my home.  Here is the setup that I have:Main Arris internet modem is connected to WAN of Router 1 LAN of Router 1 is connected to WAN of Router 2 Router 2 is in transparent bridge mode LAN ports of Router 2 deliver internet via ethernet to devices such as PC, DVR, Smart TV, wifi extender Everything works pretty good with this set up for 10-40 minutes and then Router 2 begins to malfunction and will disconnect, connect, disconnect, wifi stops working, then at times will stops working altogetherI was wondering if anyone else has experienced challenges like these and can share or recommend any troubleshooting ideas in order for me to get more consistent performance out of my second router.  I’m wondering if it’s a security issue with Router 1 possibly viewing Router 2

why cant i log in into arris and edit my router , its not letting be use the basic ,admin/password.also im in germany and im supposed to be playing in europe servers, but my router sends me to asia servers in every game. how do i fix this without using a vpn

Just connected my svg2482ac, how do i manage the connected devices/ monitor my childs use of the internet 

I recently bought this modem secondhand. It’s out of warranty.I can’t do a factory reset. Tried holding down button for 10 seconds, 30 seconds, tried unplugging and replugging, even tried the ‘30-30-30’ method (hold reset for 30 seconds while powered on, continuing 30 seconds while powered off, continuing 30 seconds while powered back on), nothing worked and the network name will not drop off / return to the original name before the first owner set it up (i.e. ‘Arris-3010’ etc).The guy I bought it from is very tech savvy and wondering if he made some kind of change to it to prevent factory resets. He changed the password on the 10.0.0.1 page from the default (which is ‘password’) and doesn’t remember what it is, so I can’t change the modem settings that way.When I press the reset button, the modem does reboot after 10-15 seconds of holding it down,  but the network name does not reset, and the admin/password credentials don’t reset.It’

I am on my 3rd Arris T25 install in the past 3 weeks. Each install works, shows on the Xfinity app as connected, but randomly resets with loss of connection for 2 to 5 minutes each time.Can go several hours without a drop, then drop randomly between 5 minutes and 30 minutes between events.System was working perfectly with the Xfinity leased voice/wifi/cable modem. Nothing changed other than replacing their modem for the purchased T25 non WIFI unit, .I have always used my own WIFI router.  This driving me nuts and no support from Comcast other than trying to send a tech for 100 bucks / visit to analyze my end.. As an engineer, replacing a perfectly  working system/modem with another modem means my system is 100% normal, unless the spec on the Arris T25 is remarkably different from that of the Xfinity modem. As the T25 is approved for use by Xfinity, what the heck is going on?Thanks

How to update arris TG2482 router?

Suggestions on how to disable or dim the led lights on my Surfboard SVG2482AC? The modem lights up my whole room at night. Taping front doesn’t work (light splashes out the side) and not seeing an option for disabling in the admin software area. I’ve resorted to throwing a dark cloth over the unit but it runs warm and weakens the signal.

Currently all my devices are working under one password. I need to access to make a second password and split my devices between the 2.4G and 5G.

Nonresponsive Aris modem. Electric pole took a lightning hit last night. Once everything was repaired outside my arrows surfboard SVG 2482 AC will not power up. Can I get this unit repaired?

Hello Surfboard community! I have a used SVG2482AC Modem that I am using with my Xfinity internet service that I am having trouble setting up.I have setup and registered my modem with Xfinity customer service and I am able to connect to the internet through the modem via ethernet. I setup a Wifi network name and password through the initial Web Manager login page but cannot locate that Wifi network on any device I have (phone, laptop, Xbox). I have been trying to log into the Gateway/Web Manager using the default “admin/password” as many different people/help forums suggested and that combination does not work. I have tried so many combinations and keep getting 5 minute timeouts. I am hoping someone here may know how to help before I try paying money to the Arris customer service support or buying a separate router. The image below is what I see on the login page.
