Is there a way to diable Wi-Fi on the modem?

I recently got the arris surfboard G34 WiFi cable modem. I have xfinity as my internet provider. I hooked everything up and was connected to internet and WiFi but was getting a very weak connection (about 8 mbps). So I unplugged and restarted the modem. Now it’s showing it is getting about 115 mbps but won’t connect or give WiFi. The modem just keeps blinking blue and green. Won’t go solid and connect like before. I did a reset as well and still won’t connect. I did a troubleshoot with xfinity but they want to send someone out because it’s not working but because it isn’t their device, if the arris device is faulty I will be charged. I’m not sure what to do to troubleshoot on my end or if my new modem is faulty. But it connected before so I’m unsure.

I just got the G36 wifi modem and am trying to connect everything.  My laptop used to recognize the 5 GHz wifi but every time I open up my laptop I have to reconnect and it no longer shows this option so not sure what to do!  My printer only recognizes the 2.4 GHz or guest but does that mean anything on the 5GHz can’t print from this air printer?  I’m sorry if these are dumb questions but my phone and tablet no longer find the printer and they are on the 5 GHz!  Appreciate any info!  This has been quite frustrating!

My ipv6 constantly attempts to provision DHCPv6. Each attempt displays as a critical failure in the event log (see an extract below). Eventually the modem then drops all connections to DHCP including v4 and no devices can connect to the internet. My ISP says there are no problems on their end and the modem looks good from their side. The error messages in the event log are below. I get a pair of messages like this every minute or two:ti_dhcp6c: 72001009-DHCPv6 - No Advertise or Reply Received 558 times     03/13/2024 16:25:21    Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001004-DHCPv6 Provision - 77 Retries Attempted with Last attempt at Wed Mar 13 22:23:24 2024     03/13/2024 16:25:21    Critical  How do I get this to stop so the modem will work?

I ordered modem then it declined because billing address error and I’ve tried disputing with bank but they said no error was made and I don’t have the modem .how long does refund take since the money is gone from account and I ordered from surfboard or was that a scam ? I ordered march 4, it was declined March 5 so is it automatically refunded as it’s out of stock now I can’t even reorder it ?

Is anyone else having a problem with their G34 stuck in a constant reboot?   They had me reboot it because I was having connection issues and now it just keeps restarting over and over again. 

Can I connect xfi pod (WiFi extender) to my g34 cable modem?

I can't get the password for the g36.mondem

Got a G34 now and its still happening. ISP wont do anything for the issue have called multiple times. Is there anything  I can buy that would help level out the power levels?

hellomy email address I used to create my Arris logon will be deleted soon, so I need to change the email address associated with Arris G34 to something new. I am told I will have to reset my G34 back to factory settings. Restore Factory Settings ? will this reset where I have to reset my password? If now how? And once I do the reset, will I have to have Spectrum my ISP be notified again? Any other issues I will have to worry about? 

Cannot get past security check. I put characters in exactly the way they look and it still says incorrect, no matter how many times I do it.

I’ve tried to register my new modem -rouder with no success . G36. I did the scan qr code part and when i get to the part where you put in the letters and numbers  it fails to accept any . 

Hi,I looked at the G34 and the specs for it before purchasing. The specs say WiFi speeds up to 3000 mbps. I purchased the device based on the speed and price. I just installed the device and activated it with xfinity. I have an 800 mbps plan with xfinity. While activating this unit xfinity informed me that the device will only produce 500 mbps. I don’t understand this. How can this unit say it has WiFi speeds up to 3000 Mbps and I can only get 500 Mbps?? Is there a setting I need to change to achieve the speed I have?  Thank you, Kent

My modem stops on orange light. I have reset; I have unplugged and it still stops on orange. 

Just got a G34. Two problems. The first and worst is the dropping internet after a few hours. This happens on both 2.4 g and 5G networks. Once I reboot I have internet connection again but once again it will drop after a few hours. I have followed the instructions and checked the cable power ratings and they are all within the appropriate range. Problem number two: I initially attempted to change the Wi-Fi network and passwords to my own but once I did I could not connect to either 5G or 2.4 g networks even when using confirmed correct passwords. Once I did factory reset I could connect to the networks again.

I’ve been on the phone with tech support twice and have done everything in the posts here that I’ve found. Reset router, uninstall/reinstall app, use default credentials, etc. Last instruction from tech support was to “wait 1 hour and try again”. No luck.  The router is connected to my ISP and I can access through web address, but I really want to monitor and access the router remotely. Any last ideas?

Its says my modem is online the light is soild blue but the internet not working.

Can I disable IPv6 on my G36 to allow only IPv4? Does this require a separate router by using bridge mode?  My ISP can’t disable it for me. 

Where are the QoS settings for the G34? I can get into the modem settings via browser but I can't find QoS.

I have a SurfBoard AX3000 G36 connected to Cox cable. WiFi is good but only 1mpbs down and 5mbps up. I have had Cox activate and they can see nothing wrong with the cable connection but they are unable to communicate with the AX 3000. Showing solid blue LED after flashing blue and flashing green. But now solid blue and still no speed. Previous modem on the same connection was giving me more than 50mpbs symetrical.

Trying to add an extended wifi to Arris G34.  In this case the extender is a netgear AC1200.  Am totally lost with this venture.

I recently purchased a G34 for my mother, upon installing and working with Xfinity support to activate I noticed many web pages weren’t working unless they resolved to an IPv6 address.  Also ping to an IPv4 address (or hostname that resolves to an IPv4 address) doesn’t work. I checked the Gateway > Connection > WAN tab and found that the modem is only getting an IPv6 address from Comcast and no IPv4 address (just 0.0.0.0 displayed).  I tried working with 5 different support representatives from Comcast and none of them could resolve, they didn’t even know what an IPv4 address was.  The only next step I was offered was them rolling a truck, I explained that IPv6 is working but IPv4 isn’t and they said we can roll a truck.  None of this makes sense as it’s pretty clear that the modem not being issued an IPv4 address is the root cause here and a technician physically looking at the modem isn’t going to make a difference as this is likely a provisioning issue.

Can the MTU setting be accessed and modified on Model G36? If yes, where in the menu can the MTU setting be located? Thank you.
