G34 | G36

Surely there is a way to backup the configuration on a G34? I hear from a lot of sources that it cannot be done which makes no sense at all. Am I missing something here? Why in heavens name would Arris not provide this fundamental and necessary function? Are you telling me I have to screenshot/write down every last one of the things you have altered, and keep that around and manually re enter it all if something goes wrong?

I bought the G34 about 1½ months ago but was not installed until moving to my new houseon March 1st. Since then WiFi drops consistently and when dropped I can not evenaccess the modem using a computer attached by Ethernet. I need to exchange this for something that works.

All the Ethernet ports keep going offline (no lights). I power cycle the modem it’s good for a few minutes and the ethernet ports go offline again. How do I open an RMA to get the modem replaced?

Trying to set up g36 but can't get connected to the Internet. Previously I was using a separate modem and router.

So when I setup my g34 my isp said any issues would be with the modem/router company, anyways my issue had been fluctuating download speeds which should be a 940mbps and upload up to 100 but I'm getting a max of 5 and as low as 100 kilobytes 

I have a pixel pro 7 and can not connect on it to my wifi.  Is there a newer version of this application?  I downloaded from google store.   Thanks

Why is it hard to keep a instant, constant wifi connection?

I have a G34 on Cox that has good internet connection on 5Ghz (but with very poor range. The 2.4 Ghz has Wifi with good range but NO internet. I’ve tried changing to every channel, restarting the Gateway, but no luck. Any ideas to resolve would be appreciated please.

despite numerous attempts to rectify this with troubleshooting efforts, the internet connection keeps periodically dropping out.  I use an ethernet connection to the router, and the ISP is Sparklight.  This is very disconcerting, since I am often teaching online when it happens!  I have rebooted the router numerous times, checked all cables, etc..  I can’t seem to get through to “customer support”  either.  I just bought this cable modem/router last month on advice of the ISP and it’s been very frustrating, to say the least.

Trying to get my printer online with the G34 model.  I input all the information, it is wireless, and input the ID number..  It always produces an error notice.  I printed the error report and it says the MAC address filtering may be enabled on the router which can prevent printer from connecting to the router.  How do I cange the MAC address of the printer to the list permitted devices for the router?Current configuration of the MAC address  is [edit: removed personal information]     How do I enter that into my printer?

HELP!!! Someone has hacked my Arris G35/G36 wifi modem twice. I believe it is someone in working the industry. My internet provider/server is WOW! but they tell me they cannot help because I own the wifi modem. I need help stopping the hacking into my system. The person or persons who is doing this is getting into modem Gateway settings and changing the configurations. I am fighting to get and keep my bandwidth of 1 gig from the hacker(s).

 I have had issues with the G36 for a few weeks now and have had to reset the modem every two days because internet drops.  I just got this email from Comcast saying Arris is the problem. Comcast claims it will take Arris months to fix the issue… is that true? Here’s the email below I was sent from Comcast ” We’ve noticed intermittent connectivity issues with your internet service and have identified the cause to be a defect with your Arris Surfboard G36 internet modem + router. Arris is working on a software update that should fix the problem. Because the update may not be available for several months, we have taken steps in the interim to improve your connection and provide you with the best possible experience. These proactive measures should resolve your intermittent connectivity issues and provide you with fast speeds, but your modem may not achieve the full speeds included in your Xfinity Internet package until the Arris software update is deployed.No

I would like to set a time block from night 10 pm to 5 am next day morning.  But I am only able to set from 10 pm to 11:59 pm and I am not able to find how to set for the remaining duration of sleep time by adding another time block.  How can I achieve a night sleep time for few devices on the network?

Can the Max WC4T be used as an extender?

I’m connecting the ethernet into Port 1 of the modem to the wall. In a separate room, I’m plugging a new ethernet cable from laptop to the wall CAT5 port. I’m not sure if there is a setting I need to do to use ethernet this way but it’s not working.  Laptop is Mac and cables are new. I am inserting ethernet into docking station, it shows that, I see IPv4 and IPv6 but they are set to auto use etc. Connecting laptop to modem directly works.

I had an Iphone 12 and now Iphone 15. When I have long phone calls lasting 10-30 minutes, eventually my calls get disconnected. Spectrum, my ISP, says it is the SURFboard DOCSIS® 3.1 . I believe it is Spectrum service. I attached logs   

I’m a Cox Communications customer in Scottsdale, Arizona. About 2 weeks ago I began to notice a gradual slowdown in my internet speeds. Videos were beginning to buffer a lot and frequently visited websites were downloading slower and slower. Reps at Cox told me that my Arris DG2460 modem was outdated and that I should get a new modem.Based on several recommendations, I bought the Arris Surfboard G34 and set it up this morning. It’s a Cox approved modem compatible with their system/equipment.When I’m using a modem I’m nearly always on my Dell Optiplex 7020 desktop. I connect it to my Arris modem on Wifi. My wife uses an iPad (also Wifi). Occasionally, I’ll check the appearance of a website on my Android phone. Additionally, we stream video and TV through our Roku device.So, we use 4 different devices with the modem, but never simultaneously. Is there a way to diable Wi-Fi on the modem?

I recently got the arris surfboard G34 WiFi cable modem. I have xfinity as my internet provider. I hooked everything up and was connected to internet and WiFi but was getting a very weak connection (about 8 mbps). So I unplugged and restarted the modem. Now it’s showing it is getting about 115 mbps but won’t connect or give WiFi. The modem just keeps blinking blue and green. Won’t go solid and connect like before. I did a reset as well and still won’t connect. I did a troubleshoot with xfinity but they want to send someone out because it’s not working but because it isn’t their device, if the arris device is faulty I will be charged. I’m not sure what to do to troubleshoot on my end or if my new modem is faulty. But it connected before so I’m unsure.

I just got the G36 wifi modem and am trying to connect everything.  My laptop used to recognize the 5 GHz wifi but every time I open up my laptop I have to reconnect and it no longer shows this option so not sure what to do!  My printer only recognizes the 2.4 GHz or guest but does that mean anything on the 5GHz can’t print from this air printer?  I’m sorry if these are dumb questions but my phone and tablet no longer find the printer and they are on the 5 GHz!  Appreciate any info!  This has been quite frustrating!

My ipv6 constantly attempts to provision DHCPv6. Each attempt displays as a critical failure in the event log (see an extract below). Eventually the modem then drops all connections to DHCP including v4 and no devices can connect to the internet. My ISP says there are no problems on their end and the modem looks good from their side. The error messages in the event log are below. I get a pair of messages like this every minute or two:ti_dhcp6c: 72001009-DHCPv6 - No Advertise or Reply Received 558 times     03/13/2024 16:25:21    Critical ti_dhcp6c: 72001004-DHCPv6 Provision - 77 Retries Attempted with Last attempt at Wed Mar 13 22:23:24 2024     03/13/2024 16:25:21    Critical  How do I get this to stop so the modem will work?

I ordered modem then it declined because billing address error and I’ve tried disputing with bank but they said no error was made and I don’t have the modem .how long does refund take since the money is gone from account and I ordered from surfboard or was that a scam ? I ordered march 4, it was declined March 5 so is it automatically refunded as it’s out of stock now I can’t even reorder it ?

Is anyone else having a problem with their G34 stuck in a constant reboot?   They had me reboot it because I was having connection issues and now it just keeps restarting over and over again.
