G34 | G36

Out of nowhere, I got kicked off all my devices and my wifi just disappeared. Though, okay, maybe I should just reset it, but when I try to do 30-30-30 factory, nothing happens. Any ideas? 

I believe there is more than one issue going on. But this is what I know. I lose connectivity both wired and ethernet. sometimes for a second, sometimes for minutes. The lights on router onlly sometimes change from blue to orange during this. I had seen aquite a few Event logs not sure what to make of them. Every check of Qam shows in parameters. I dont know if these logs can give some guidance. I am a remote WFH rep and need stable internet I bought this modem router for the 4 ethernet ports and wifi 6. We are a 3 person sometimes 4 person family. Son’s a gamer, We have Amazon devices and Cameras and Streaming SErvice not to mention phones, tablets, ets… Average about 30 devices at any given time. Please help. I signed into my guest network and now I'm unable to get out of it and back to the normal network (not guest). Every time I try to sign into the not guest network it's saying wrong password, which is not wrong. This all came about from me struggling to connect my blink camera system, which failed miserably. 

The bottom of the model provides WAN & HFC, but not CM. I need this to activate my WiFi through Xfinity app. 

i sent in a request for help.  I can’t find how to get a live chat again, the page just says it’s open.  Also, this modem is driving me nuts!  It doesn’t work and I’m past the time for returning it to Amazon.  HELP!!! how do i get a replacement of a different model?  Too many people have this problem for it to be my problem.

my building is looking into an arrangement with Frontier to install FIOS in my building. We currently have xfinity and I have an ARRIS G36 modem. Its is working rather well now so I wondered if I could keep it if and when this building goes over to  FIOS. I can’t get much of an answer from ARRIS and after a long hold, I was able to speak to a tech service person at Frontier, who told me that the only modem compatible with their FIOS is the ARRIS NVG443B. But that one isn’t even listed on ARRIS’s website. Anyone know anything?

G34 ipv6 setup 

I’ve been using an old surfboard modem with google wifi mesh for years but never seeing speeds over 150mbps. Xfinity told me this was because my modem was outdated and couldn’t support higher speeds, which by the specs is probably true. so I upgraded the modem to the s33. With speed tests, I was now getting 800mbps at the modem (what I pay for), but my WiFi was still topping around 200mbps on devices nearby. I decided to ditch the mesh altogether as my house is not that big, and got the g36 modem/router instead. Now on 5g, I’m getting WiFi speeds between 350-450 when near the router, down to 80mbps two rooms over. On 2.4g I’m getting 40mbps max. Is this really the best WiFi speeds I can get with the g36? 

Furious customer here!! For several MONTHS I have been battling with Arris for a refund for a modem that failed within one year of use. They refused to refund, as the product was not purchased directly through them. (A very unfair policy that leaves most consumers at a loss, as most merchants will not accept faulty tech merchandise and will just tell you to contact the tech company directly).So, they sent a replacement instead. This sadly failed to work within ONE week of use! Clearly there is a problem with their products (as I’ve now seen from lengthy searches on this forum and online, including a class action lawsuit in 2017). There seems to be a significant number of issue with their products and compatibility with Xfinity.Compounding this, the customer service experiences I have had have been HORRENDOUS, including empty promises to return calls; no direct line offered to the senior rep, Priya, I have been fruitlessly working with, requiring a minimum of 30 minutes

I just installed a G36 modem on my Comcast ISP (setting it in Bridge mode).  After the fact I discover that many others have had connectivity issues with this modem, with the finger pointed at the firmware. And the finger pointing solution seems directed away from Arris toward the ISP. My firmware is what came installed when I bought the unit late last year : 01.04.288.01.01.NCSDoes anyone have newer firmware than that? And how bad are the connectivity problems?   

I cannot the admin portal up on wired connection.  Looked through all positions - updated firmware, reset modem. User name and password found on the mobile app used on login page of admin portal. Splash screen stating “login first” appears for a moment and then back to overview page with login. Using chrome, which G36 doesn’t like so also tried MS Edge - same result. Need to check advanced settings in G36 as my child’s Yoto player no longer will connect to g36. 

I just brought a G36, now being told I need a firmware update to 1.05I see a lot of frustration out there about this.Xfinity tells me they do not do it. Not true I know.Where do I go from here?Bottom line for me should I just return the g36?Sorry if this is old news. I should have done better checking before buying it.

Hoping for some guidance here on what to do. Out of nowhere this morning, G36 just decided to stop working. We have Xfinity internet, they show no outages in the area. Tried power cycling the modem, didn’t help. Tried the reset button and holding that for 30,60 seconds, didn’t help. Not sure what to do here going forward, Cables all check out and are connected just fine. 

I bought my G34 September 2023 and it has been working on the Xfinity Network until 2 days ago, it went offline all of a sudden. I have disconnected from power source, tried to reconnect via Xfinity app and it just continues to be offline. I called Xfinity and they were no help, they want to send a technician to my home and charge me. I work from home and internet access is crucial. Please advise what I can do to get my G34 back online with Xfinity Network. Thanks. 

We were having problems with our G36 locking up. After numerous times of it locking up I unplugged the unit to let it reset. After turning the power on all it does it blink blue rapidly. I pushed the reset button and nothing has changed. Can you instruct me on what to do to fix the problem?

I’d welcome any insight as to what may cause the 5GHz WiFi signal on the G36 to regularly provide slower (19, 27, 35 40, 65mbps, etc.) network speed than the 2.4GHz (72mbps). 2 Coax cable connected devices meet network speed service levels (Network is WOW, Service Level is 300/20.) Only two devices connected to 5GHz channel (1 Android phone, 1 Tp-Link Mesh WiFi Extender.) Other factors for consideration:Both frequencies are using non-congested channels in my area (they are the only signal on their respective channels according to the WiFi Spectrum analyzer.) Bandwidth selection set to Manual: 2.4Ghz is 20/40; 5GHz is20/40/80 Default settings for MU-MIMO enabled; DFS disabled Distance from the modem/router does not change these results (10 inches up to 50 feet.) Rebooting the modem/router does not change these results.

I purchased the combo through Amazon. As soon as the window closed to return (1 month), it started dropping connections. After 6 service provider visits and nothing was resolved because the modem router would work and as soon as the tech would leave, it started dropping connections. Sparklight cannot update firmware and Arris won't. This is the only item that I have purchased from Amazon that is absolute junk and not cheap. NO ONE will address this issue.

my internet is very slow 35 dowload and 21 upload 

I have a 34 gateway and the wifi and ethernet speeds are extremely slow compared to what I pay for. I have a 600mbps plan and I get 150-200mbps on wifi and 100 on ethernet on the second port as the 1st port I only get 50mbps if anyone has any ideas I would be greatful.

Can anybody tell me if the surfboard G36 is compatible with optimum internet

I just moved into a new home and bought the G34 so I do not have to rent a router from Cox. However, Cox could not fully activate the G34 because my home has fiberoptic, not cable. But is there any way to use the G34 as a router only?
