At the request of my ISP WOW I am attempting to connect a new Arris SB8200.After connecting the power to the modem I received a single green power light on the front of unit.I pushed and held the tiny reset button in the back for 15 seconds although I didn’t feel any spring to it?I connected the ethernet cable from my Windows 10 PC.Opened my browser with the 192.168.100.1 address to test the ethernet connection and it would not connect? rebooted PC still no connect to 192.168.100.1.This PC connection is known good I am using it successfully to post this with my old Arris SB6141.   Its the simplest ethernet to PC single connection no router or any other devices.No flashing lights on the front of the SB8200 modem after the reset either?I have not moved the coax cable over to the new SB8200 yet since I can’t login using Admin to check the signal strengths.Very impressed with my old Arris 6141 and the WOW customer service said your forum

Hi. Surprising how those little (especially the blue ones) LED’s light up my spare bedroom at night. I’m guessing there’s no way to dim them on the unit itself?  There’s no user manual and I’m unable to access the device with that IP address shown in the quick start guide.  Sux but looks like I’ll have to block the lights with something.

I bought my S33 in July 2023. A few weeks ago (Jan 2025) my S33 began making a noticeable buzzing/squeaking sound, which seems to have gotten louder. Hard to notice with TV on (right next to it) but in a quiet room its ultra annoying. Connectivity didn't seem to be affected though. To try to fix the noise I tried briefly unplugging it and plugging it back in. That didn't help. So, I tried to unplug it and let it sit for a bit, when I plugged it back in it gave me a white status light and makes a constant rhythmic buzz squeak now, no internet connection. Left it that way for several minutes and status/connection did not change. What's going on here?

I need to activate my modem 

I came home only the 1st w lights were lite up I've unplugged both modem and router box and after that it blinks yellow and goes back like it was no internet connection at all

Good morning, I have a ARRIS - SURFboard S33 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Multi-Gig Cable Modem. (Purchased Oct 2021) I switched to an Xfinity modem for a while due to a sales pitch.  I tried all day yesterday to get my S33 back online.  The reps at Xfinity kept telling me that there was an outage in my area. It wasnt an outage, my S33 apparently had some files that needed to be updated in the modem.  I spent 5 hours in chat mode with Xfinity and 5 reps. Xfinity indicated that the files were updated to teh S33.  How do I know for sure?  Is there a way to test it beyond connecting and activating the unit through Xfinity again.  What other options are possible to test the speed and operation of the modem?  I prefer not to go through that again.  Thank you all

I just purchased a SURFboard 8200 v3. The Receive and Send lights both show as green, indicating DOCSIS 3.0 is being received. My ISP is Spectrum, and their local office stated that they have only been using DOCSIS 3.1 in my state for several years. I have seen some other answers regarding this issue related to “provisioning”, and that the issue lies with the ISP, not the equipment. I’m unsure of the proper question to ask the ISP. What is provisioning and what do I need to ask the ISP to do to try and address this issue?

First post, hope I’m putting this in the right place.TLDR: Xfinity activation bricked a previously activated SB8200, and their tech support told me to contact Arris for a "configuration file".****I've used a self-owned SB8200 with my Xfinity plan for 3 years, but after upgrading to the gigabit plan, Xfinity began sending me email notices that my equipment isn't capable of fully utilizing my plan.So, I bought a recommended Arris S33, swapped out the SB8200, and had the S33  activated and running in minutes. I put the SB8200 back in a box for storage, feeling it would be handy to keep around if the S33 failed in the future.Although the S33 performs just as well, if not better, it is much hotter than the SB8200. So much so, that I decided to return it to Amazon and reinstall the SB8200. Was advised by WOW I needed a new DOCSIS 3.1 modem so I bought an Arris SB8200 used from Ebay.Attempted to provision with WOW and tech said system was receiving a “walled garden” error?First thing I did was push the reset button in the back of the SB8200 waiting about 20 seconds until the two blue lights and one red light briefly lit before blinking out.When I released the reset pin after the reset the power light came on but the blue and red network LED’s did not blink?Modem should have been reset at this point so I attempted to verify by hooking up a single Ethernet cable to the top ethernet port of the SB8200 leaving my working ethernet connection on the PC. Hi. I’ve spoken with Optimum, and the SB6190 is supported by their service.  Before I get started disconnecting the TM822 and connecting the new SB6190, would be great to get some input from experienced people here.  I have a Linksys EA7400 wireless router connected and working presently, I’m hoping that it won’t be an issue to connect to the new SB6190.Possibly any videos which might help if/when running into any issues?Thanks very much.

Have had my SB8200 connected to xFinity cable service for over a year with no issues.  2 days ago we experienced a 4 hour xFinity outage, after which my PC is the only device that the modem will connect to the internet with. My mesh WiFi system won’t connect to the internet, nor any other ethernet devices such as my Apple TV.  I have rebooted the modem several times and eventually did a factory reset and registered it again with xFinity.  Speedtest on my PC gives me 590 mps download, paying for 500.  The problem persists. Does anyone have an idea of why my PC is the only device it will connect to the internet with?  Any suggestions on correcting this issue?  Much appreciated.rvhughes1

How do I know if my surfboard is corrupted. The past 3 days I have lost service at 930pm until 930 am the next morning. I went onto my surfboard S33 to see if it would tell me anything and it said firmware NA and service provider NA which I thought was weird. It also wouldn't let me refresh, it said last refresh was November something but instead just kept rerouting my refresh attempt to this thing called Fing. Any help please.

Purchased April 2023 so 16/17 months old and total failure while not home….it was plugged into a surge protector and no other devices in the home were damaged so I don’t think it was from a  power surge…..no lights on the arris  and have done all the smart things that arris would say….is the power cable inserted? Yes…did you try it from another outlet? YesWill arris cover this under warranty or is it just that this was a bit of a lemon and most arris’s would last much longer?l did swap out an old Motorola modem that still works so wasn’t dead in the water (after  coordinating with ISP)I do want to have another spare on hand wondering if I should avoid arris or not

How can I get a longer timeframe of Event Logs on my S33v2? Have been having intermittent dropouts. I believe this is a cable supplier (Spectrum) problem vs. Arris. However, I would like to set up a computer on the modem via internet port to log various elements over a longer period of time. How can I do this vs. the somewhat short period of time the Arris logs events.If it turns out this is the Arris modem how can I get a warranty replacement? I do not have a backup modem so would need to continue to use this one until a warranty replacement is sent to me and then I would send to Arris.

I spoke with Spectrum to send me a firmware update and they said that they can’t send updates to third parties so how do I update my firmware 

Spec-wise they look similar. OTOH, I’ve seen people pooh-poohing the Puma chipsets in the CODA56. What's the lowdown on that?

Hello I am trying to submit a warranty claim for my SB8200 Arris Cable Modem but not sure how to begin the process. 

How do you reset your username and password if you dont remember them

Looking to replace my BrightSpeed modem with the Arris DOCSIS 3.0 Modem (SB6190). I am seeing varying information on it’s compatibility with a VDSL2 Transport Type. Anyone have this info before I unbox the modem and start swapping it out. 

Can any of you having problems accessing the 8200 even access its built in mini-webserver?There is no combination of IP addresses and methods suggested that will work. All I ever get is are “not responding” and “time out” messages from the browser. (The same browser that accesses the router with no issues.)This Modem is new and works perfectly but I need to see my bonding parameters because the cable company is having challenges in my area and needs feedback from my end. Their tech support said that Arris Modems are famous for being inaccessible for unknown reasons. Has anyone had success with a method not already suggested above? Thanks.  

Cox Cable came out, my Arris SB200V.3 modem died, shows I bought it along with modem install at BB a few months ago - chat is not working on ARRIS site, found phone nbr for ARRIS cs and no answer - need to find our more about warranty and ability to return defective one. Headed down to BB now to buy a new modem. Very disappointed in the ARRIS “support” -

My arris Modem has both green lights on, the WiFi is blinking however and my devices recognize the network but can’t connect to internet. I’ve cycled multiple times and reset. Any tips? Been out all day
