Hello, after many hours working with comcast and missed sleep trying to provision my new S33 modem, I had a thought to log into it but couldn't. So I factory reset the S33 & was then able to connect. Looked at log & see a critical error TVL-11. Basically, saying the MAC id doesn't match the model in comcasts system saying its something other than the S33. So, when they send signal to provision it, it fails. How can mac id & model be different. Tried calling modem support but they are not open yet. Has anyone seen this before? Is there a fix besides returning it & posting a very negative review?

I have a Sony Bravia  Google Play TV. My service provider is Comcast and I connect to Xfinity TV program on a HDI port and  Google Play is configured for the port called Channel . I began having service interruption issues on my Sony Bravia Google Play about 1 month now. The Google Play App would just hang and not load at all while in the same instance the NetFlix app would load wihout issues indicating that this is NOT a network issue on my network. The Netflix APP  has  its own icon and loaded without issues and have no issues with Xfinity programming loading  That tells me that my TV is working ok, no issues with the sound or picture.  Ive began getting messages from SurfBoard and Fing suggesting that services have been handed off.  The XFINITY Remote controls the volume when ocassionally  my Sony Bravia Google Play TV  works which suggests there may be some crossfunctioning.  

About a month ago my s33v2 starting making a high pitched whining noise.  At that time the internet was slow but power cycle fixed it (the internet, not the whining noise).Now the modem seems to have stopped working completely.  I power cycled the modem and router several times, tried multiple cables (both to router and directly to PC) and neither the router nor PC detects any connection.  Checked with xfinity and their service is fine but no modem is detected.  Held reset for awhile but still nothing.Modem is still under warranty but support is closed today.  Any advice?

I have Cox for Internet. Cox support told me to use a switch (not a router) to connect two computers to the modem. It seems like a simple thing to do, and I want to be sure to get a compatible switch. Any recommendations for a switch?I'm also considering having a Cox technician come to my house to do the setup in case there are things I don't know that need to be done -- currently have their Panoramic modem/router. Is that a good idea?

S34 activated with xFinity for “internet only” service, no voice. The 1-Gig port does not seem to be useable, at least for my VOIPo service.Do xFinity settings capture the 1-Gig port, even if xFinity voice is not used? If they control it, given I don’t use xFinity voice, can I log onto the S34 and somehow open the port for my use? If not, can I request xFinity to release the 1Gig port to me?I get it that I can work through the various xFinity support options and at some point get this eleveated a time or two to get to someone there who can actually answer my questions and not just read me scripts, but I am hoping an S33/34 user has been through this and can provide practical info first pass.Thank you, Bill

I too received no confirmtion of order or tracking, nothing, zilch. Order support links all deadends except being routed to the Community where there is no order, or sales help of any use other than opinions and runarounds.A few days after the order I was emailed to comment on my new modem (that I hadn’t received) using the s/n which I hadn’t received. My new S33v3 modem works fine and is connected to Xfinity. When I try to register it with Arris for the warranty, when the online form validates the model, it tells me the serial number and model number do not match. I’ve tried entering the serial number multiple ways, same results. I verified the serial number through logging into the modem, as well as the tag on it. The registration screen tells me to call a phone number which is answered - no voice or message - then disconnects after a few seconds. If I try the online chat, it asks to check the warranty status first, which of course it fails because I am unable to register it. Any suggestions? Not feeling all warm and fuzzy at this point. This is admittedly a minor thing, but annoying. My S33 modem recently had a problem booting and connecting. Thanks to this forum, we figured out it was the power supply going bad; substituted another from an external hard drive and the modem booted and connected fine.My 2-year warranty on the modem runs until Sept. 2025, but when I contacted support about a replacement power supply, I was told that “accessories” are only covered for a year.Ok, cool. But where is that documented? The warranty card for the modem says software is covered for 90 days, and “(B) for the Product (excluding software), for a period of two (2)years from the date of purchase from ARRIS or from an authorized ARRIS reseller.”I don’t see any mention of accessories, though I do see a paragraph that says, basically, if it doesn’t have an Arris label on it, it’s not covered at all.  The power supply is not Arris branded, so, technically, I guess they don’t have to cover it at all.So

Purchased the S33 three weeks ago, and for the past week it has disconnected at least 4 times already. Twice it happened overnight, so I wasn’t able to see what was happening. Turns out the modem overheats and shuts off. It finally turned back on after 30 mins and the light was white and eventually it turned orange after an hour. It still was not online though. Took a good 3-4 hours before it was back online. 

I’ve been using an SB8200 for several years. I seem to recall a setting specifying the expected speed from the ISP. Comcast recently increased their speed but it seems I’m locked to the previous value (using Speedtest). How do I reset that setting (or am I remembering incorrectly)?

Im In surfboard app.  I called my provider and they registered my product.  The app is now saying please enable WiFi settings and ensure that you are connected to your home network wifi with network connectivity.  I believe I should be. 

Bought Arris Surfboard cable modem SB8200 from Amazon February of 2024. Needed a higher end modem to support the speed and devices we currently run. After installation just recently December 2024, we experienced extreme lagging in our web browsing and gaming. Also, the app to Install is out of date. Only older versions of Android can install it. We hooked up our previous netgear modem again, since it wasn't giving us as much issue as this newer Arris cable modem. I would like to know what the warranty will cover since it is practically never been used and we are not satisfied with the product?

My SB8200 will not connect to docsis 3.1. I have a spectrum gig plan. Spectrum tells me my plan is docsis 3.1but my modem is stuck in docsis 3.0. I don’t see an option how to change the setting in the management page. spectrum is no help and tells me to contact the manufacturer. Any help would be greatly appreciated Also I cannot access the management page while the modem is connected to the net. I can disconnect from the net and access the page. 

I have a SB8200 modem and for no reason at all it drops our internet connection and I have to call for a paid service to walk me through the issue to correct it.  Have my computer connected to the modem and it says everything is working fine but the indicator lights are: power - solid green, Receive - solid blue, Send - solid green and online solid green.  I can access the internet when connected to the modem but my nighthawk router will not connect.  I have logged into the modem manager but don’t see anything out of line there either.  Any ideas on why I need to call for assistance one or twice a year to adjust my settings to allow it to work again? Wifi - Netgear Nighthawk X6S, AC4000 Tri-band, model - R8000P

S33v2 light solid amber, blink of bluegreen then back to solid amber.  No connection to any device but internet shows connected.  Power cycled  the provider and Arris devices, did the paperclip reset on the Arris device and checked the Ethernet and coax connections and found no problems with those.  No change, any ideas??

So, yesterday I purchased a new SB8200 and had Cox activate it. However, while it works all the lights are Green, shouldn’t two of them in the middle be Blue? I’m 80 and not that tech savvy.

My Surfboardd S33 does not connect in the morning for few devices (laptop or desktop). For rest it works. When I connect the not-working devices via my cell phonehotspot these work immeidately. Can you help ? Thanks in advance

I got new modem but unable to connect because I don’t have default id and password 

I have an Airport Extreme which evidently automatically takes the 192.168.100.1 IP address so I am unable to connect to my SB8200.  Any suggestions? 

On the configuration page there used to be a button “Restart Cable Modem”. This button has disappeared. Who changed the firmware and how can I get the button back?(My ISP denies that they have changed the firmware on the modem that I own)EDIT: When I remove the coax cable and restart the modem, the reset and restart buttons are there! However, as soon as I put back the cable the buttons disappears 🙄.How can I keep the buttons with the coax cable connected?Several years ago, the buttons were there even with the cable connected..

xfinity could not activate the modem. they could see the modem and run tests but could not activate it. Xfinity documents the modem as compatible.The modem’s front light was solid blue. The modem was very hot.My old modem still works so I don’t believe there is a problem with cables.Shall I exchange it? It was purchased from amazon.

Doesn’t DHCP a private address.

I have SB6183 and would like to add a 2.4 ghz wifi option so that I can have both 5 and 2.4 but we are not able to access an admin page. We think the firmware might need to be updated too.  can someone please guide me step by step on how to add a 2.4 ghz wifi option? We use google mesh as well. thank you so much in advance!
