I have been having problems with Xfinity service? I was finding that I would lose all internet connection for 24-36 hours at a time. Ihad Xfinity out and they stated my service was fine and eventually told my my modem was obsolete. I purchased a S33 at that time and all was good. Now three times in the last week I have lost access. It is both WIFI and my hard wired computer. I have attempted to restart the S33 and my router and this does not work. I switch to my hotspot and do what I need to do. I will come home from work and presto wifi is working again without me doing anything. While on support with Xfinity I bypassed my router and plugged my computer directly into the router with no success. They are telling me it is my hardware (router) since they can see it and state it is online. Thoughts?

Is says SB6183 on the modem, just curious to as why this would be.

Moden is less than 2 months old, I had no problems until a few days ago and now just looking at my event log there's more than 150 (Yes, 150) disconnects since the 10th of november, 50 reboots daily. On the 12th it went from 5am-7pm without reboots according to my log (I didn't do anything) and then it went back to rebooting. Already checked the coax cable, manually rebooted the modem, reset the modem, changed power outlets (router on the same power strip doesn't reboot either) and I also left it on without the coax cable and it still rebooted after 30 minutes (I don't know if that's on purpose). I can see the LED change from solid blue -> solid orange -> blinking green -> solid blue over and over again every few minutes (haven't had a solid hour today without rebooting). It doesn't ever turn fully off. Is the S33 a modem/router combo or just modem? I’m not talking about WiFi, I just need to be able to physically connect multiple devices to the LAN interface using a switch and want to make sure it hands out DHCP IP addresses. From what I’ve found the default IP is 192.168.100.1 so it does do some routing but want to make sure I can connect multiple devices on the inside.

Xfinity internet did some recent updates to the service and after that my internet is no longer working. My devices do connect to the Wi-Fi and xfinity says my modem is online however it keeps saying no intervener connection on all my devices.

I have contacted my Internet provider who directed me to you for help. They said I am having issues with the modem locking onto the router?

Hello, I was using the Xfinity-provided combo unit and decided to purchase a better standalone unit. I went with the Arris Surfboard S33 modem and a mesh network router system. My Xfinity plan gets up to 1.2 GB of download. Since installing the S33 modem about a week ago, I'm only seeing downloads around 100mbps. Any video calls have been very choppy as well. I have an Ethernet cable connected from my router to the 2.5GE port on my S33. The light on said port is blinking amber. From what I'm seeing online, that means it's on a 100mbps connection. How can I improve this connection to get closer to my plan maximum? I've reset the modem and nothing's changed. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I remove devices from my router that I don’t want connected.

I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Astound (formerly RCN) and they could not get my SB8200 to provision. they would send signal, lights would blink, and then it would just turn off. If I reconnected the ISP supplied modem there was no connectivity issues.Tried to call Arris and even though they say they are open 7-Midnight central time the voicemail said they were closed at 10:25PM. I connected directly into the modem and couldn’t communicate with it either as the modem won’t stay on. Any ideas?

I have an Arris SB8200 Modem. Recently, it is resetting (i think) or turning off and turning on multiple times a day. It is extremely frustrating, as it used to never do this and now it is constantly doing this. The blue lights will go off, and then will turn yellow for about a minute and then go back to blue and the internet is back. Attached are the event logs and other info about the modem. Got the S33 to replace my Xfinity modem. Had the internet switched to this modem. Xfinity saw the connection activated on their end, but I couldn’t see the WiFi name on my end. Tried to search for Admin and used both the serial number and “password” as the password. Neither worked. I was able to get Xfinity to activate the old router in the meantime. What should I do now? Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I don’t believe I was given a default username and password for my modem. What would they be by default? If needed, how would I hard reset?

The warranty period for my Arris SB6190 modem is until March 29, 2024. Yesterday it just stopped working. How and where can I send a faulty modem for replacement? The link to support from previous responses to comments is not active.

The modem is only a few months old and since a week I have an issue with it. I use comcast/xfinity and the downstream connectivity light has always been blue and the upstream has been green because of the slow speed of 40mbps. My download speed has always been about the same which is 900 mbps. Since the downstream connectivity light has turned green (last week) my download speed has not changed it’s still about 900 mbps and more. The only way I can have back the blue light to come back it’s by recycling the power or resetting the modem but the blue light will not last. During the day or next day it will turn green again even though the speed is still 900 mbps Anyone has any idea why this is happening? Thank you

If i connect my laptop straight to the modem most pages work, but when I plug my router it stops working

S33 modem stopped providing internet service. Front panel LED is flashing green at Avery high rate for speed. Tried power off for multiple minutes. Tried resetting and reboot procedures. Same LED high flash rate (essentially a flicked). Tried direct computer network connection to access the modem default IP address, no response from the S33 unit. Any other options to get this unit working? Was purchased 3/31/23 and is still under warranty. Not sure how to make replacement claim if the S33 is truly dead.

The online light will not co.e on and says no internet connection we unplugged it and reset it still nothing! Frustrating

Dead SB8200. It's been barely 6 months since I purchased this modem and it's completely dead. I have a universal adaptor to make sure it wasn't the power cord. This thing is dead to the world. Nothing I can do to fix this. It's still under warranty, but I can't seem to get in touch with anyone to find out what I need to do with a piece of junk.

Hi, my SB8200 is about 3 years old. My ISP is supplying 500 mbps but I’m barely getting 200. Cox’s answer is that my modem is outdated and should be replaced. They will basically not do anything to help. I’m no expert and I realize things get outdated, but I don’t think that’s the case. Looking for opinions, some advice. Should I replace my modem?
