Good day, I recently had some connectivity issues with my Spectrum service.  I had been using an Arris modem provided by Spectrum for years, but part of resolving their issues, they replaced my old Arris modem with a super duper Hitron modem.Speed with Hitron modem is improved, but it unfortunately connects only to a single PC in my home, it WILL NOT CONNECT to my Cisco RV325 Small Business Router.  Previously, the old Arris “just worked” as far as getting an IP from Spectrum to allow all systems on my network to have internet access.  However Spectrum is unable to provide any support other than “it works on our side”, and tell me that I need to contact Cisco.I see on the Spectrum site that the Arris SB6190 is compatible with their service, and also see that I can purchase one from Best Buy.  Will the Arris SB6190 be able to connect to my Cisco Router?I will run to Best Buy and pick one up!!   

I bought a new, factory sealed S33v2 but Xfinity (Comcast) was unable to provision it as the MAC address was already in use. How can that be?

Nov 2023 installed ARIS S-33 modem. Data usage went from an average of 350Gb/month to 1323Gb/month for Nov & Dec 2023 and Jan 2024.No changes in data intensive activity, no gamers. Only change is went to Hulu Streaming TV and dropped Xfinity Cable TV.Any ideas why this would happen?

I am trying to setup my ARRIS modem MODEL SB8200. Xfinity has done everything on their end and can confirm there is a strong signal, however I am not seeing the modem in my network to login. Please advise...

What version do I have? The info page shows "NA". How do I perform an update? 

So I had a S33 for a few months, then it stopped working. Arris sent a replacement. The new one won’t connect at all. I worked with Xfinity for over an hour trying to get it connected and they told me there was a Docsis error on the modem. So I’m using a rented Xfinity modem now and it works perfectly.I called Arris about just sending theirs back for a refund but I was told that was impossible since it was a replacement. They want to go through troubleshooting before they’ll even offer any recourse.I am done with Arris I think. After going through two bad modems I just want a refund. Will they offer a refund if I go through troubleshooting with them and it still doesn’t work or will they just send an endless stream of replacements until my warranty runs out?

Tried to activate an Arris S 33 with Xfinity, Xfinity said that my old 6190 modem is too slow for my internet speed, and I needed to upgrade.  My modem won’t activate, I have tried many times using the app, the light flashes green, and after 11 minutes the app says it couldn’t find the modem.  I hooked up a computer to the modem and on the status page is says security failed, and Docsis network access enabled, Status Denied.  Today, Xfinity came out to check my lines, I had a weak signal, they replaced lines and connectors and when the tech was done, I had a great connection.  He tried many times to activate the modem and couldn’t.  He finally called his tech people.  The tech lady tried to activate the modem on her side and said that it showed active, but wasn’t connected.  She said that she couldn’t see an IP address for this modem, and because of that, couldn’t activate the modem.  She told me to contact Arris and see if anyone has had this problem and how to fix this problem.  T

I posted on here a while back about my S33v2 randomly rebooting several times a day. I have been chatting with some Xfinity agents on Reddit and they lead me to an interesting discovery. While the S33 is on the list of recommended devices, the S33v2 is merely listed as compatible and not recommended. According to the internet, the v2 was released in mid-2021. Despite a different chipset and firmware, there is little difference between the two. Why has Xfinity not certified the v2 version in the last 2.5 years when it is clearly the newer product and probably the only one you can actually buy for the last 2.5 years?My issue is clearly something to do with this modem as I had been using Xfinity’s XB8-T modem for the last month and had zero issues.Is there anything I can do about this except just keep using the XB8-T and

My sb8200 has 2 internet ports. The #1 connects laptop to modem. It flashes orange. 2 connects my router to the modem. It flashes green. Shouldn’t both be flashing green?

I have been trying to sign into my router and the username and password listed on the bottom of it does not work. I also can’t find it online. On the bottom it says it’s a Technicolor CVA4004TCH1. It’s not even listed on the Technicolor website. The only search results I get for “technicolor cva4004” appear to be either fake malicious websites or a website called cox that doesn’t tell me anything relevant. When I go to the address that’s listed right above the username and password, it brings up a page that says technicolor DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem, but again, the login does not work. I’ve searched the internet for an hour now and have found no solution.

I had an incompetent Xfinity tech tell me srros needs to reconfigure my modem cause it’s in bridge mode..After all that I realized he didn’t have me hook up my router and he was wondering why my wi fi wasn’t showing up anywhere..

I need to reset my router. Once done and I reestablish my SSIDs exactly as they were before the reset will my devices automatically recognize them and reconnect since the names are the same and passwords hadn’t changed?

does anyone know if Arris has pushed out any security updates for all their modems as per the recent FBI announcement that deals with Chinese hackers targeting personal modems and installing virus / bots ? I have an SB8200 Surfboard cable modem i am concerned about

The power light keeps blinking and non of the other lights are no. How can I fix it? I purchased the unit on 11/28/2023.

I cant access my routers web manager every way I try to get it google just fails and says ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Hi , I just returned my Xfinity Arris modem and got a SurfBoard S33. I have LinkSys mesh routers in both the cases that work OKI have noticed early morning the Wifi connection does not work and Internet starts to works about 5 mins after connecting.  Can you pls suggest an fix for this ? Is there any upgrade that needs to be done as I bought this SurfBoard from Amazon ?? Thanks in advance  

Not sure if this is an isp issue, a modem issue, or an issue w my signal levels.im sure my isp - optimum - will blame me for not using their equipment,it seems like its could be an issue w my cable modem? Ive seen about 4-6 posts with seemingly similar issues. I also have the issue where you can not access the modem gui management page.i’ve been at the same location for 7yrs, had optimum residential cable, business cable, and now switched back to residential service for better price and 1gig service. This issue is new since replacing my old docsis 3.0 sb cable modem + router to the sb8200 + 2 different routers that both have the same issue.equipment is this - sb8200 -> router/firewall → switch → ap/ethernet.at least once a day my router loses the internet connection for about 10m. all the lights on the modem indicate that it is connected as normal. I purchased the “Arris Surfboard S33” router today to replace my old Lynksys router.  I have upgraded my internet speed to 1GB.  I got the S33 activated by Xfinity and followed the procedure for registering the product as the instructions listed.  After verifying that the modem was converting the cable signal to an internet signal, I attempted to connect my EA8500 router...1st on the 2.5G port then the 1G port.  In either situation the light on the EA8500 continues to flash and no “new” network is seen.  Any helpful suggestions are appreciated as to how to troubleshoot this problem.  Thank you

I just updated from an old SB6121 to an SB8200. The internet is way slower from before. I checked the status page and it looks like all my power ratings are out of the norms. Any way I can correct this?

I came home from being out for a couple of days and my Arris S33 modem appeared in an error state. No internet connection on any of my devices. The front LED turns a solid amber for 20 seconds, then flashes white, then turns off for 2 seconds before repeating that cycle. Tried hard resets and checking cables; also tried troubleshooting with Cox, but the modem just remains in whatever state it’s in. Modem is not responding to input from the reset button, either.  I’m not sure what to do as I haven’t seen any posts with a similar issue to this. I received the modem as a hand-me-down and have only had it plugged in for less than a month (and it’s worked fine until now). 

First Ethernet cable worked to hardwire a desktop- internet was fast and reliable. Then connected wireless router to second Ethernet port- Wi-Fi internet is now good, but the desktop that was hardwired does not have an internet connection.
