I had a problem with cable system which Xfinity fixed by running a new line.  Once activated, my modem connected to the internet but I’m unable to sign in to the modem.  I reset to factory default but it will not accept the default user id and password which came with modem (Admin / password).  I need to access in order to reset my home network.  I’ve tried unsuccessfully to contact anyone with Arris support for assistance or warranty.  I need the modem for work ASAP so will be forced to purchase a new modem (which wiill not be this company brand) unless I can get help immediately.

It is amazing to me that the Surfboard app can only be used by one person, on one phone. We can’t be the only household in which there are 2 adults who may need to manage our internet connection now and then! We put the app on my husband’s phone, thinking I would add it on mine later, since he travels a lot for work, and then I couldn’t make use of it so it is basically useless!

A little background first - my COX account is for 500 Mbps, and with the Gateway speed tests on the COX website were somewhat greater than 500 Mbps.  However, we experienced daily issues with the WiFi, having to reboot the Gateway at least once almost every day.  Our laptops and other devices would lose connection frequently. So, I recently replaced my COX Panoramic Gateway with an Arris SB8200 cable modem connecting to a TP-Link Deco X55 (AX3000) mesh system (3 nodes).  The setup was easy and our devices don't seem to have any issues connecting.  However, download speed tests (WiFi) are now showing 80 Mbps (upload ~11 Mbps).  A wired test with my laptop connected directly to a Deco node showed only a slightly higher download speed of 85 Mbps.According to COX my modem was provisioned properly and it all looks good on their end. So I sent a detailed report to TP-Link support, including all information they requested (various speed tests, network topology, firmwar

This modem has been working well for me.  I want to login to the modem AND I CANNOT ACCOMPLISH THIS.  My tech skill level is high.  I have spent hours doing Google searches on how to do the login, including using different combinations for usernames and passwords, including using the last 8 digits of the serial number for the password, and attaching my laptop directly to the modem, AND NOTHING HAS WORKED.  Arris needs to address this issue, as I found many frustrated people posting online about having the same problem with this modem.  Thanks.

Got Xfinity to activate and working but can’t log in to admin portal

Just hooked up my S33 and had it activated through Xfinity. I connect to my WiFi router and works great. However,  when I unplug from router and hook my modem directly to my laptop, it says unidentified network and it will not connect to the internet. Any suggestions?

I just bought a new SB8200 to replace my DOCSIS 3.0 Modem and I don’t think what the status window is showing me is what I should be seeing. The downstream bonded channels are all QAM256, while the upstream channels are SC-QAM. On the front of the modem, the second light from the top is blue and the third is green.I was on the phone with Xfinity for almost an hour since they had trouble connecting to and they were finally able to provision it. When I asked them about what I was seeing on the status screen they told me it’s that way since it’s a customer-supplied modem, I don’t buy that answer.Channel ID Lock Status Modulation Frequency Power SNR/MER Corrected Uncorrectables 29 Locked QAM256

My T-Mobile Cell Spot (a mini home tower so I get strong signal throughout my home) worked for 2 years without problems. We had to change the primary person name on account and they made us return cell spot and get a new one because according to the FTC it has to be registered in that exact person’s name. Waited to install new cell spot until Arris S33 and EERO mesh pro were installed so it was all new. Everything was working for 7 days and then cell spot went out. Made several attempt to reboot and talk to T-mobile tier 2 tech support. They say that I need to open the following 3 ports so T-mobile cell spot can connect to the internet:UDP 500UDP 4500UDP 123Everything else works great but my cell spot and I fluctuate from 1-2 signal bars. I need it to be back at full 4 throughout my home. It isn’t spectrum nor EERO and T-mobile is saying it is the modem. Unfortunately, I can’t find anywhere that has the ability to change any port settings 

i’ve been trying to set up my modem to no avail  i had this modem and a tplink router set up at my previous address, using xfinity i’m trying to install it now, but the globe button won’t turn on and connect to the internet. i called xfinity and they said it all looks good on their end. i’ve unplugged and reset a few times, but still nothing. 

How do I find the Primary DNS

When the tech helped me set up my Arris 824A modem and WiFi yesterday, we changed the default, preshared Key (password).I am positive it was changed. I wrote it down. I tried to log in today because the network and guest network appeared in my network list but, the latter, will not connect. Neither the preshared default , nor me new password will work. Suggestions?

Does anyone know how to change the modem network name  name and pass word for my air b and b so guest can recognize the name when they connect to Wi-Fi. changjng admin name only seems to change it for log ins to my account any help would be appreciated 

The internet thru my sb6183 would not come back on after being knocked out by a snowstorm. I’m trying to trouble shoot. After a factory start the status for upstream power is below spec. 35.7 dBmV-39.7 dBmV versus the +51 dBmV to 45 dBmV that it’s supposed to be. Is that enough to make it not function?

Please forgive my ignorance of networking for this question.  I plan to connect the S33 to my EdgeRouter-4 and will use Xfinity as the ISP.  When I first attempted this (which I am certain I did not do correctly), the modem had an IPv6 address assigned to it.  My EdgeRouter-4 is currently setup to only work with IPv4.  If I activate the modem (correctly, this time) is it capable of receiving an IPv4 address from Xfinity, or do I need to adjust something in my router setup to accommodate an IPv6 address from Xfinity? Thanks.

When trying to connect PS5 to surfboard wifi, it says connection too weak .  Modem is one room away. Help.

I recently received an e-mail from Comcast telling me that my Arris modem was no longer compatible with their speed increase (?), and that I needed to upgrade. I bought my modem directly from Arris. I was about to shop for another modem through Comcast (that they conveniently provided a link for), when I noticed that the modem that Comcast claimed I had was different from the one I actually have. I called Comcast and they finally admitted that they sent me the wrong info. They concluded by saying my modem was “somehow still compatible” I called Arris to verify and they gave me the correct info.If anyone who has Comcast gets this e-mail, make sure they are referring to your modem, and check with Arris directly before buying another modem!

Currently connected via wireless to Arris Surfboard SB8200. I want to connect directly to modem via network cable but when I do that I get the message: Status-Connected; Ethernet has a self assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet. Is there a setting I can change in the Modem to allow connectivity ?

I have the S33 and Archer Gx90 router, when I type the default IP. 192.168.100.1.  It times out so I cannot log into the modem to check status... If I unhook the router its works fine..... I just dont want the annoying process.    Thanks

Just installed SB8200 and activated port 1 through Cox.  Setup was smooth.  I also have Verizon Home 5G (Cox is unreliable) running with no conflict.  I know how to set pass thru for the 5G modem but need to know how to add the IP address to port 2 on the cable modem.  Cox refused to help.

I purchased the S33, how can I tell if it's the v2 model?

I am currently getting several dropouts the past few days. I contacted Cox customer service and they stated that Arris has a firmware update for the Sb8200. I went to the site and found nothing. Can anyone please help me with this. Thanks in advanceMax

My ISP is Comcast/xfinity. I am using ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1  bridge mode. I have a  MikroTik RB2011UiAS-RM Routerboard Rackmount 5xLAN 5xGbit LAN 1xSFP connected to ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1.  Here is my issue the ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 is a Gig-e port. The RB2011UiAS will not connect to RB2011UiAS as a 1 Gig port. if I hard set the RB2011UiAS to 100 meg both units will connect, but dhcp will not work or pass traffic. Any suggestions.  

I cannot seem to get Google WIFI setup with the Arris SB8200
