Need to reset password so I can get Internet

Surfboard central wont open 

New modem and router. Modem upstream is blue. Modem downstream not lit up. Internet is kind of slow, pixelated/buffering at times and will kick me off of some apps. What do I need to do?

My S33 modem is working fine but makes a lot of noise - a constant fluttering/chirping/skipping sound. I’ve had it for about a year but recently moved it close to my desk where it’s driving me crazy. Is this normal? Are there other routers on the market that are quiet? I use Xfinity. Thanks.

Do these cable modems require a phone line or cell line for installation?  We are in the mountains and the voice lines run on the internet, so when the internet is down so are our phones.Thank youChuck

I have an SB6190 Modem/Router and use Sparklight as my ISP.  I am trying to access the Arris Modem webpage which I have done numerous times before but now I receive a “403 Forbidden” message.  I have tried the following:Accessing on both my Macbook and iPhone Turned on and off my VPN Rebooted my Macbook and iPhone Rebooted the modem Factory reset the modem Disconnected and reconnected all cables from the modem Contacted Sparklight to determine if their were any issues on their end Scoured the internet for solutions and tried numerous recommendations Reviewed this Community Q&AI am at my wits end and hope someone can provide me with a solution?  Is it possible that this “403 Forbidden” message could be associated with the modem’s hardware? Thank you in advance for your support.Phil

Will no longer connect to internet after an Xfinity outage. Infinity can’t see it. 

How to access SB8200 Web portal? I have an ARRIS username and PW and it doesn’t work. I also get a warning that 192.168.100.1 is insecure.

Hey all,I am looking for some older CM820B Modems. As I know they are end of life, but does anybody knows which modem could be a good alternative for it? Or maybe anybody knows about some refurbished ones?

Hi I’m trying to connect to the wifi but it keeps telling me to make sure I’m on the home wifi network when my internet is plugged into the arris modem 

I just connected a brand new SB6183, and have activated it in Xfinity. When I power it on it cycles through green lights for power, down, up, and the online lights up green briefly.  Then lights go off and the up and down turn blue. Nothing is plugged into the LAN side.  I tried plugging in my gateway and it couldn't be reached from Unifi. I know it's not my connection because I just swapped out an Arris surfboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated 

had a zfinity technician rule out the splitter, coax cable, and ethernet cable a possible cause, down to being the modem itself causing the problem. what could be the reason for this failure. also i am hard wired to it (no router in between). could it be a hardware failure on the inside of the pcb board? if so which component that i may de sauder and re sauder. 5 repliesOldest first  plemans  24 days ago log into the computer you have connected and see if your actually connected at a gigabit rate. I’ve seen sketchy cables, ports, pc’s that only connect at 10/100mbps and limit speeds. Current setup: Arris G54-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 1.4gig/200mbps

My cable provider is claiming I have not returned this device. Can you provide the date of manufacture  as per the serial number? 

Purchased modem in July of 2023.Modem would stop working about once every other month, and i would unplug for a couple of minutes, plug back in and it would work fine. Did it again on Monday and now i only get solid white light. Will not reset. Please advise.

Hey guys, I've been having issues with my internet and I'm not really sure where to begin, though I suspect that the issue is with my modem. I'm skeptical because even before I bought it I was having issues with my internet where it would randomly drop and I had to reset it a couple of times before it would come up. I bought the sb8200 3.1 and paired it with a netgear orbi sxk80. It works very well most of the times but there would be like an instance or 2 a day where the internet would drop for like 10 minutes or so and go back to normal. These past 2 months it's gotten progressively worse and the past 3 days have been pretty rough. My orbi tells me when it goes offline and it has notified me of 30+ times in the past 3 days. That is also not including the times where it drops for a couple seconds and comes back.The reason that I think it might be the modem is that when it happens I unplug/plug it and it comes back fine most of the times. My S33 is still under warranty, and Arris has already provided me with a shipping label to replace the device due to an issue. However, I'm concerned about whether the replacement will be new or refurbished. I'm a bit wary of receiving a refurbished device because it could potentially have modified firmware or undisclosed issues that Arris hasn't detected. It would be frustrating to receive a replacement only for it to break down after a year or so.

Just purchased the SB8200 and spent over 2 hours on chat with xfinity. They say everything is perfect on their end. Yet my surfboard has 1 blue light on. Any help would be appreciated 

My SB8200 is showing all green middle lights indicating its running in DOCSIS 3.0. I called Optimum and they said it should be running in DOCSIS 3.1 with my 1 gig plan. Please see the connection log to see if there are any issues. I was using Optimums modem, but it rebooted multiple several times per day. I was considering the S33 for my GB Xfinity connection.While checking out the S33 on the Arris website I noticed the S34. It looks like it might be based on the S33 but firmware optimized for faster uploads. The description page states “ Next Generation Upload Speed Optimized” where the description page for the S33 does not.If I click “Buy Online Now” on the S34 page I get redirected to a page suggesting I add an S33 to my cart.Is the S34 an available product? My SURFboard SB6190 Died just after the warranty expired. I have never had a modem fail. They have always lasted a few years until I had to update because it was out of date. No lights, no nothing. Completely dead. This one only lasted a little over a year! I didn’t put it into service immediately after purchase. I wanted to see if you guys wanted to help me out somehow. Hello everyone ,Today, I purchased a used (preowned) cable modem, specifically the SB8200 model. Upon exploring its Event Log, I noticed several recurring issues related to synchronization and ranging failures, such as:1-SYNC Timing Synchronization failure.2-No Ranging Response received.3-Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received.4-Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received.5-16 consecutive T3 timeouts while trying to range on upstream channel 8.6- Unicast Maintenance Ranging attempted - No response - Retries exhausted. Could someone please help me understand what these event logs mean? Do they indicate a problem with the device? Would it be advisable to return it, or are these issues not significant?Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I just got an Arris modem router, trying to connect it with my netgear nighthawk extender is proving to be difficult. Any suggestions please.
