Hi, I’ve had the sb6190 for a number of years without any problems, using it with a netgear nighthawk, until maybe a couple of months ago i noticed the connection was dropping off but not a nuisance. The last few weeks it’s become intolerable. I called spectrum and the first agent said they could see the modem no problem. They wanted to send a tech and of course charge if anything beyond checking their end. I hard rebooted everything but it didn’t last. I had replaced the cable on my end with rg 6 high speed a few years ago. I called again and this time got an agent who knew what she was doing. She saw from their log that the modem was disconnecting from them off and on over the past 24 hrs. She also saw that the modem was flashed with docsis 3.0, she reflashed it with a docsis 3.1 but said she didn’t know if this would be only a temp fix. It was. She recommended that i may need a new modem. I had also read that the fcc had gone after the sb6190 for problems. I looked at arris’s new sb

Cannot access surfboard central app with initial username and password

Arris SBG10 port 9010 not remaining unblocked. After 30-60 minutes, the port is blocked again but the port forwarding rule is still active in the router settings. The port is open for a security camera DVR. I open the port through Firewall - Virtual / Port Forwarding. I have the added the static IP address of security camera DVR in the port forwarding area. The port is re-opened when I click “Detect IP” in the security camera DVR settings. And then it stays open for 30-60 minutes before being blocked again. This is a new router and the old Arris router 6580 was working fine with this security camera DVR. I have tried changing ddns and the same issue still happens I have updated the firmware on the security camera dvr I have called Arris tech support and they said I’m doing everything correctly to unblock

can i use my phone hotspot for connecting my surfbord ? i cant seem to find the setting SBG700AC

I had to disconnect the connections to my modem for an hour. Before I did my lights were both blue. I did not notice the color of the Ethernet connector in the back. After reconnecting my modem my two lights are now green and the Ethernet connector is blinking amber all the time. Is there something wrong? We have internet and wireless connectivity but is it the best or strongest as it was before I disconnected the wires?

I normally work on-line beginning at 3:30 a.m. However, my Arris S33 modem goes through its automatic firmware update between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m., disrupting my Internet connection. Can I change the time of day that these updates occur?

I have contact my ISP as I am looking to port forward on my router, after a fair bit of research it turns out I have a private IP address and this needs to be changed to public. When I first contacted my ISP (Optimum) they said it would be no issue to do this, until they discovered I have my own modem and router. They then explained to me that in order to change my IP from private to public I had to contact my modem’s manufacture. I cannot see any way to make changes to my ISP, and if my suspicions are right, I am not able to through my modem and it has to be done through my ISP. Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated. Sevenups

My 5G connection is not working on my S33v2. I’ve tried rebooting the modem. I’ve tried using multiple routers. I’ve called xfinity and they say everything is normal on their end. I pay for 1G internet and currently am getting 10-15MB internet through the 2.4G channel.

Which is the best Arris modem?

First, yes, I did scan the questions and I did see a similar one answered, but I have questions from that. Previously I had the SB6190 and just upgraded to the SB8200 to get the DOCIS 3.1 plus the GB ethernet ports. Linksys Atlas Pro 6 Mesh Router worked fine with the SB6190 and I could easily access the modem page if needed without using a “direct” connection. In other words I could from my wired computer access the 192.168.100.1 page address in the browser on the computer. Now I can’t. Same router, same computer, same browser with new SB58200. Just won’t connect. I changed nothing on the router settings, so it really makes no sense the router is involved in blocking the access. Note well: I am not wanting to change anything. But occasionally I look at the logs just to see if there is anything “off”. I am NOT trying to access via WiFi, or wirelessly. Short of moving my computer to the proximity of the SB8200 how can I open the access via my Linksys router to access the modem’s web pag

How can I access the S33 modem configuration using WiFi? when I type the IP address 192.168.100.1 OR 10.0.0.1 , I get an error message stating error 404. My computer does not have an ethernet port. Please advise

On my SB8200 when I go to 192.168.100.1 and login, it pops up a window saying you need to login first. I click Close and it takes me back to login screen. I cant get in. I’m wanting to check the logs today see why my modem reboots constantly. I did a modem reset and still does the sane thing. I tried accessing modem from an iPhone, iPad and computer using safari and chrome with all the same issues.

Hey guys. I bought this modem in Nov2019 off Amazon. It’s been sitting in storage, new in the packaging ever since, while I went through the longest divorce in history. House is sold, new life beginning, and I ordered up new service with Comcast, at the new place. Tried to hook up my own modem with their support, and opened the Arris box, gave them my MAC ID and SN and they are telling me both of those are already in use. Tech said sometimes the manufacturer will rent inactive numbers out, and to ask for a release or replacement. I couldn’t find a call number to reach Arris. Where do I begin?

I recently got one of these modems through some Facebook group from someone that didn't need it anymore. I'm trying to set it up and do a factory reset in order to get it to work with my internet provider, but this is frustrating to say the least. If there is a number I can call for direct assistance, I'd prefer that. If not, my problem is I can't get to any of the online web addresses the ANA tells me to go to because my phone doesn't have older browsers. Seeing as that's step two in a factory reset, I'm really at a loss.

WHY CAN’T I REGISTER NEW MODEM?????????????????????????

The modem all of a sudden stopped working. Arris surfboard SB6190. It blinks the second light and power light nothing else. My ASUS router is telling me the modem is offline, I have power cycled it already

I have an Arris S33 modem which I activated on May 27, which replaced a Comcast Xfinity supplied gateway. Since activation, I’ve discovered my internet connection drops every day at around 1AM and connection returns within 5 minutes. Never longer than that. The schedule is the same every day and has not changed. It is not just Wi-Fi but also when connected via ethernet on my desktop computer. I have an Amplifi Alien mesh router which is up-to-date firmware wise but I've already ruled it out as the culprit. During my weeks of troubleshooting, I've been on my desktop computer directly connected to the modem as well. When I lose connection at 1:00 AM, my Xfinity app says it is "Offline". My Alien app shows device is not connected to the internet and "No Internet Connection" is displayed on it's screen. Looking for some help in further troubleshooting this issue. I setup the Arris Sb8200 model in my home.After install and registered somehow it shows I installed the Sb6141 model although the s/n is correct. Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling?

Howdy, just moved to a new location and we're trying to get things running. We purchased an s33 for use with xfinity and a friend gave us an aruba 315 for use instead of a router. This will eventually change to being modem > switch > cable run to 2 rooms > AP, but for now we're just trying to get wireless working. The modem is registered/activated and the blue light is constant. We've power cycled the modem and AP, swapped cables, etc but still no internet. Hardwiring from modem to a laptop doesn't give a connection either. What next steps should we be taking here? Comcast has already been out and checked the coax and it was "good to go" but I'm less inclined to take their word.

My ISP provides Arris TM3402A cable modems. Work great most of time, and get the 50M download speed I pay for. Recently though, have an issue were modem stops working with internet. The ping loss rate to the local name server is generally 0 with occasional 1-10 drops. Generally, those are fine, but then it will sometimes jump to 60% to 100% and internet becomes useless. Can still access the cable modem on 192.168.100.1. Have a script that sends 50 pings to the name server every 2 minutes. If loss is less than 10% ignore it, but if higher report it with a sound. Generally, if it goes higher than 50% the internet goes out, and next check goes higher, and eventually stays at 100%. Power cycling modem is only way to get it working again. The web page doesn’t have a reboot option? Does have an advanced tab, but that requires a daily password?? So only pulling power to reset. Then it is back to working? Had a surfboard modem, and recall it having a way to send a reboot command. But can find

Hi! I recently upgraded my ISP plan to go from 400mbps to 800mbps down. After trouble shooting directly with my ISP and my router, I still receive the same speeds (~400mbps down). I have tried testing my speeds on different devices and different locations. Is there anything I can do directly with my Surfboard Modem or settings I can configure? I don’t have a device right now that has an ethernet port that I can directly plugin to the modem to check speeds from there. Thank you!

I got a new SURFboard modem and connected everything but I can’t get online. I was told that the modem needs to be activated, can someone help with that?

I had to replace my old modem due to it being destroyed by a family member, but when I received a new modem, it did not come with a wifi security key unlike my previous modem. Am I just blind or dumb?

How do I log in to my modem to see how old it is?
