My new modem will.not connect  

I found steps to do thisbut when I connect my laptop directly to the modem and launch Firefox, my computer can’t find the internet. It is setup for a WiFi connection via the router. What do I do?

I can’t get my computer to connect to the modem. Our phones and iPad do. The computer logs in elsewhere.

how would I connect two sbg8300 with a wire, one upstairs and one downstairs, to extend my signal

So out of nowhere, the Arris SB8200 on my desk yesterday, goes from blue light on DOWNLOAD to green and my speeds plummet from 1,000 meg download to 5 meg.  I of course call my ISP - Breezeline. They say I need the firmware update, but since I own the modem, they can’t do it. Come to the Arris site and it says the firmware updates are with your ISP.  For 2 straight days, I am being told that Breezeline can’t do the firmware since I own the modem and to get Arris to do it only to be told by Arris on the phone - that wants to CHARGE ME for the help since I’ve owned the modem for 14 months, says that Breezeline can do the firmware for me. I tried to factor reset the modem, did the admin and last 8 digits of the serial number but it won’t log in.  Breezeline is charging me $75 for a technician to come out and advised me to BUY a new router, which the tech visit is more than half the cost of the modem.  I feel pretty s

I need not only help for that question, which I suspect the answer is no. Here’s what’s happening:I formerly lived alone and used my modem and Linksys router without issue. I am now living with family who was very powerful Wi-Fi all throughout their large home. For a month- I’ve been able to connect without issue until today. My smart TV, MacBook and iPhone will not connect. Cannot find network or internet, my initial thought was to hook up reputed next to TV so has to get signal, right? But it’s old and cannot get internet from Wi-Fi (to then route out..). It has to be hardwired to internet source- which is wayyyy on other end of house. Help!!

My SB8200 modem appears to be no longer allowing me to access my work VPN.  The internet works otherwise.  I originally thought this was an issue with my work computer; but, on troubleshooting with my work IT, we determined that wasn’t the issue (I was even given a new computer, which did not resolve the problem).  I then thought it might be an internet provider issue; but, on contacting my internet provider (RCN), they rebooted my connection among other potential correctives, and determined the issue wasn’t coming from their end.  Both my work IT and internet provider suggested this was likely a modem issue. Additional context:  I haven’t done anything to my modem (I have not touched it) before the issue arose.  I restarted my modem after the issue arose; that did not correct the issue.  This issue just started one morning and has been going on for two weeks now.  I am able to log into my VPN through other internet sources not linked to my modem (e.g., phone hotspot).

Set up the Arris8200 with Xfinity Internet coax, plugged network cable to a port on the Arris8200i am able to get an IP from arris, however, the IP is an external routable IP,  there does not seem to be configured a LAN, internal only IP which I would have expected  I cannot access 192.168.100.1, as the IP I have been allocated looks to be directly from Xfinity, and I am unable to add anything to the second network port on the back of the Arris8200 as the DHCP looks to be provided direct from Xfinity how can I get to configure the Arris8200 when it appears to be not doing its own DHCP for an internal network but rather passing DHCP from Comcast? I requested help from Comcast who said to contact Arris directly for help…  

Hi All, I bought a SB8200 a year ago but after 8 months of operation it stopped working and even through a reset and reboot it no longer would activate with xfinity’s network. I have an older sb6141 so I plugged that in and was able to activate back with xfinity no problem. I got an RMA for the sb8200 and recieved a new sb8200 and was able to activate the new rma sb8200. That replaced SB8200 lasted about 11 months this time but now same thing happened and it no longer recieves signal to activate on the xfinity network. I had a comcast tech come out and check the line everything is fine and I plugged back in my sb6141 I had laying around and it works. I went to rma the SB8200 again but am being informed that’s not possible by support because “this is the processes we need to follow there is no option to provide you another replacement”. Why can’t I get an RMA for this clearly defective unit? Very happy with my Arris SB6190 that I purchased from Amazon last week.  Called my ISP to add it to their system and speeds have been great.I logged into 192.168.100.1 and checked Configuration.  I enabled the “Energy Efficient Ethernet” option which seems to be working fine.  I was also looking around online and saw there may be a way to disable the LED lights on the SB6190, but I do not see that option when I login to the device and check “Configuration”.Is this a carrier or otherwise issue (if that’s fine it’s okay)?  Alternatively, is there a way for me to see this configuration option that seems hidden from me right now?Product information page shows the following -Standard Specification Compliant: ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem / RetailHardware Version: 3Software Version: 9.1.93VAgain, everything is working fine and I am a happy customer.  I was just curious if there was a way to disable some of the LEDs.T

Installed by Comporium over 1year ago in July’22.  I’m hoping Comporium is pushing updates but cannot figure out how to verify. Current software:    Software Image Name:AR01.04.070.09_021522_7246.NCS.10.X1    Firmware Version:01.04.070.09.NCS    RDK-B-LLC:rdkb-20200207    Wi-Fi Driver:4.7.23.62.0.0 Is there any way to independently verify it is being updated?thx

Mine is the SB8200 model. Yesterday I could access the “web manager” through my computer which has a router and a switch in between the modem. I called the support line and he tried to tell me I had to have a computer connected to the modem directly (I don’t think this is true as I did it yesterday, not directly connected). The line went, it might have been me, I get a lousy signal at my house (thanks tmble)  One problem, that seemed not to be an issue yesterday. Is that my home network is 10.0.0.0/24 not the 192.168. I’m not a networking expert, but if it worked yesterday… what changed. I’m not comfortable, that the providers only authorize certain equipment. The “manager” doesn’t let you do anything but view … which is something...but for a device that I own, is much less than I would expect. Especially in this newer model. I hope that my provider doesn’t have too much control over the modem. Because it’s only been “activated/provisioned” a short time,

So the network is showing up and it works fine on my phone but anytime I try to connect on my computer it says can't connect what should I do? 

I recently got a whole home generator, and have found that when the power goes out and the generator kicks on, my Arris Touchstone CM8200 internet modem goes into a weird non-functional state, and it doesn’t provide internet again until I unplug the modem and then plug it back in.When it is in the non-functioning state, the power light is on, and the second light from the top (the receive light) is blinking. But the bottom 2 lights (send and online) are off.And oddly, I have the modem’s power cord connected to a UPS, and when I unplug the UPS from the wall outlet, the UPS kicks on, and the modem continues to work ok. The non-functionality issue seems to only happen when the generator kicks on.

I have a sump pump alarm I am trying to connect but it will not work on 5G.  How do I configure my modem Sb6121 to accept my new device?  I tried going to the modem’s ip address but there was no way to change the settings.

I just got a gaming router and trying to put this one in bridge mode Never tried to change password or anything on it and can’t log into it I’ve tried the default admin and password as well as admin and last 8 of serial number any help.?

I am having trouble logging into the http://mysurfboard.local website in order to set up my Surfboard SBR-AC3200P wireless router. The website will not load. Have tried doing a factory reset and that doesn't help - any ideas? Sometimes the page doesn't load and sometimes I get this error message 

Is the model number still support by Arris? We are using it with COX and have had nothing, but lag and I read that Arris no longer supports this model. 

I just purchased the s33v2 modem. My old SB8200 worked just fine with both ports, but I wanted to upgrade because I wanted to get full use out of my internet speeds. I have xfinity gigabite internet. I do have a 2nd IP for my account, one hardwired to my tower, one hardwired to the wifi. The 1gb port isn’t sending signal to the wifi router. I called comcast thinking it might be something on their end, new modem and all, but they did everything on their end and believe its a hardware issue, not their end. Any advice would be appreciated. 

I just purchased the SB8200 modem for my work computer.   Installation & activation through Xfinity seemed to go well.  All lights on the modem are doing what they should, & my computer indicates that I’m connected to the internet, but I can’t access anything on the internet….  I called ARRIS tech support, but no help…Any ideas for a simple solution before I return this thing??Thanks!
