SB8200

I need to set my password/username for the sb8200 modem. I do not have original password/username, and also did a factory reset. But do not know how to change it. Please help. Thanks.

I do not understand this modem and am looking for the user manual. Where is it? 

I have everything set up and connected but I can’t find my wifi on the wifi part on my phone to connect 

  I just recently purchased the SB8200 because the modem that i was renting through the provider would never let me get more than 350mbps download and 55 upload and that's on a good day, when im paying for 1GB service.   I live in a town that is fairly small and almost an hour from any bigger cities. When I started my plan through them they put new cable all the way out to the power line. So I know there's no problems with the line at least that has been found.     I am also renting EERO devices for an additional 16$ a month just so i can manage who is on my network and set time limits for the kiddos otherwise I would not be able to receive/modify any of my network settings right?. Hello, my SB8200 is dropping intermittently for about a few minutes and then reconnects. I had this same issue last year where I had to get a replacement SB8200. Here is my event log and upstream/downstream. Any ideas about what could be causing the issue? My new SB8200, but its software/firmware says it is a SB6183 DOCSIS 3.0.  What is going on!  Would I replace it?

Some minimal background for context, I work 3rd shift weekend providing customer support for an operating system vendor.  This means that I get to (try to) live through any ISP changes that xFinity/Comcast throws on their victims.  About a month ago some change was made and my SB8200 that had been working fine (with a functioning DOCSIS 3.1 indication), so to speak.  Performance went to heck and none of the troubleshooting suggestions helped (rebooted several times, factory reset, etc).  At the time the modem log had an entry about a failed firmware download and most of the channels had logged both correctable and non-correctable errors.  It should have been a hint that the normal address for the SB8200 config pages didn’t respond but 192.168.0.1 connected.Enter Comcast…  After the usual foolishness the agent finally tried to ‘look at’ the modem using their tools and that was a total failure.  From my view the modem was working but, honestly, wasn’t pe

I am trying to set up the modem app for my new modem on my computer.  Have it on mobile, but as I am slowly loosing my vision and it’s hard to see most apps on those small screens.  Why can’t I find an install for the computer?  Am I just not seeing it (no pun intended).  Are you able to help with this request?

So I was using my internet as normal when I all of a sudden lose connection, look over at my modem and it is power cycling, first power lights comes on, all lights under light up and then they all turn off and it repeats. I don’t have any extra power cables for this so I tried the one from my Phillips hue bridge and same thing. I’ve tried to unplug the modem from the wall, tried a new outlet, kept it unplugged for some time and replugged back in, I’ve also tried the reset button on the back which is when the original power cable stopped working completely. Is this just an issue where I need a new power source or is this thing messed up? I work overnight and need to be on ASAP but can’t figure it out. 

I have Xfinity 1000 down/100 up plan for over 3 months. I am connecting PC direct to SB8200 for testing and I only get a max of 24mbps upload. Only 1 (new) splitter and no other breaks in the line to the outside box, which has a new cable to the pole. Download is to spec and fine with no errors.Online Xfinity has reprovisioned the SB8200 at least 20 times and rebooted it at least 30 times over the last 3 months and I’ve logged around 22 hours on the phone with them.An Xfinity tech came to my house and tested everything and said it was all 100% and the reason I wasn’t getting 100mbps upload was likely to be Xfinity not provisioning it right.He verified upload 4 bonded channels at 45 dBmV within spec.To rule out the SB8200 I bought an S33 and had exactly the same result so I returned it.When I call them Xfinity is now telling me that the problem is the manufacturer needs to update the modem and they can do no more troubleshooting until that is done.

Bought the SB8200 on Amazon in February and it said two year warranty. Arris website says it has to be from Arris.com or authorized seller to be valid. So, is Amazon authorized? It’s starting to lose connection after working fine for 7 months. I see others having the same issue, must be built it obsolescence or lack of quality.

Modem purchased May 17, 2022.  Worked until recently when internet connection would drop several times a day.  Resetting modem several times would restore connection.  ISP checked their equipment and replaced incoming cable because speed was a little slow.  This did not solve problem.  Due to visitors arriving in a few days I purchased a new SB8200 and this resolved problem.  Original modem was purchased at Walmart for $169.00 but they were out of stock when the unit began to fail and replacement was purchased at Best Buy for $138.99.  Both retailers told me to contact the manufacturer to recover the replacement purchase cost.  How do I proceed with this warranty claim?

I have been talking to my ISP trying to figure my upload speed issue.  I am on the 1000mbps down and 100mbps up plan. However my upload is stalling at 20 mbps.  I am trying to find out what the upload speed capacity of this modem is. My ISP is xfinity. The lights for down is blue (docsis 3.1) my up is green (docsis 3.0) all other lights are solid green and the modem works great other than my upload speed.  can you tell me if this modem is capable for the 100 mbps upload? Is it because they have not activated 3.1 on the upload channel?

When I typed in the web address for the web manager, it went straight to it.  It did not require a login and there is not a tab to change the password.  Is this typical?

I recently returned my xfinity modem/router and purchased a new one.  My IT Guy at work suggested the upgrade to speed up my service.I have the SB8200 modem and TP-Link - AX1800 WiFi 6 Router.I hooked everything up, but the wifi seems to be slower than before.  I don’t know if something isn’t configured correctly? I’m no expert at all so any help would be appreciated.  Here are the screenshots I thought might help.  [edit: removed image with personal information]

I just bought this refurbished modem and was not provided the password. There is no password information on the bottom, which is super annoying. I just tried to factory reset and it still didn’t work. I am beyond frustrated and angry that I cannot find a phone number to contact Arris for help after Xfinity couldn’t help anymore. How do I get this damn thing to work?! Please help!!!

Hi,  I just upgraded from an SB6120 to the SB8200. All seems well, except I cannot reach the configuration/status page at 192.168.100.1 (It returns “This site can’t be reached” after a timeout) . I can reach my router at 192.168.1.1 in the new configuration (modems swapped),  and access to 192.168.100.1 worked fine before to the older SB6120 when connecting through my router. But the SB8200 refuses to connect, even when I go the extra mile by directly connecting it to my computer and power-cycle the modem. (Which is obviously a terrible workaround, but I tried it)With direct connection from computer to modem, I can use the internet after I reboot the modem, so the computer and modem are talking. But still I cannot reach 192.168.100.1 to look at the Dashboard/etc in the modem :-( Is there anything that my internet provider might have done during setup to lock me out (I didn’t try it before swapping the modem with the IP). Is that possible?  And why did the old SB6120 co

Product description says you can use app. Will the SB8200 work on the arris surfboard manager app?

Where can you find the firmware ? I am at   AB01.01.009.51_080720_183.0A.NSH and I know there has been a newer firmware out there. Can my ISP update the firmware on my owned modem? Can you SSH into it to upload it?

Hello I've checked multiple times with my ISP, Optimum, who have confirmed they are providing between 900-1.3gb down on multiple occasions I connect to an Archer AX21 (DOCSIS 3.1) with a cat5e and it gets 300mb down.Ive tried connecting to the modem (SB8200) with a DIFFERENT cat5e and get 400mb down. I use the first cat5e and still get 400mb down. I'm getting 40-50% of my ISP provided speed through the modem when directly connected . I also ran through support with Archer and they don't have any obvious solutions from their end since all the speed drop occurs before their product

I’m trying to set up my surfboard Model: SB8200 and it’s asking for SSID and password provided on device label and I don’t see this info on the label. Please help. I’m getting very frustrated. There was no QR code either. 

Why isn’t my modem operating in docsis 3.1 mode when my ISP says it’s supposed to be?

I have purchased a brand new SURFBoard SB8200. But lately i have been having several interruptions on my connectivity, where it seems the modem reboots itself. This is causing me a lot of issues I am running my own business, and multiple occasions this reboot, interrupted my zoom session (this is not professionals), it does not reflect well on my Company. Please advise why this is becoming an issue.

My ISP sparklight is unable to push an update to my modem. I am only receiving docsis 3.0 and should be receiving 3.1. I am also unable to use the web interface by typing in 192.168.100.1
