I recently purchased a refurbished modem and it didn’t come with a WiFi username and password 

Hi All:  I recently set up an SB8200 to take advantage of faster speeds offered by WOW.  My previous modem SBG6580 was working fine.  A serious casualty to the upgrade was my pair of Apple Airport Extreme drives.  I use them for wireless service to my home and as a streaming drive for music to my iPad.  I could not get the drives to set up properly with the new SB8200 modem installed.  My situation was that I could have wired internet service to my Mac desktop.  OR I could have connectivity wired between the Apple drives and the mac with wireless functionality indicated on wireless devices - but NO INTERNET.  I couldn’t have it all.  It was all working together before the upgrade.  After hours of playing with settings on the Apple drives in the AirPort Utility, I reinstalled the old SBG6580 and had WOW turn it back on.  Everything effortlessly re-acquainted and it is all working fine again.  I really would like to get the SB8200 working correctly with the Apple drives but don

Bought the SB8200 about a month ago, it is V3. Direct connect the modem to desktop, got into a strange page per shown. ISP is Spectrum. Research online, I used the last 8 digits of S/N, and admin, get nothing to next page. My goal is modem password change. Thank you.  

I need the password for the SB8200 modem to get internet on my Apple I-Phone 13 PRO

There is no security code, I also need help setting this up. Any help?

Need to reset password so I can get Internet

New modem and router. Modem upstream is blue. Modem downstream not lit up. Internet is kind of slow, pixelated/buffering at times and will kick me off of some apps. What do I need to do?

How to access SB8200 Web portal? I have an ARRIS username and PW and it doesn’t work. I also get a warning that 192.168.100.1 is insecure.

had a zfinity technician rule out the splitter, coax cable, and ethernet cable a possible cause, down to being the modem itself causing the problem. what could be the reason for this failure. also i am hard wired to it (no router in between). could it be a hardware failure on the inside of the pcb board? if so which component that i may de sauder and re sauder. 5 repliesOldest first  plemans  24 days ago log into the computer you have connected and see if your actually connected at a gigabit rate. Hey guys, I've been having issues with my internet and I'm not really sure where to begin, though I suspect that the issue is with my modem. I'm skeptical because even before I bought it I was having issues with my internet where it would randomly drop and I had to reset it a couple of times before it would come up. I bought the sb8200 3.1 and paired it with a netgear orbi sxk80. It works very well most of the times but there would be like an instance or 2 a day where the internet would drop for like 10 minutes or so and go back to normal. These past 2 months it's gotten progressively worse and the past 3 days have been pretty rough. My orbi tells me when it goes offline and it has notified me of 30+ times in the past 3 days. That is also not including the times where it drops for a couple seconds and comes back.The reason that I think it might be the modem is that when it happens I unplug/plug it and it comes back fine most of the times. Just purchased the SB8200 and spent over 2 hours on chat with xfinity. They say everything is perfect on their end. Yet my surfboard has 1 blue light on. Any help would be appreciated 

My SB8200 is showing all green middle lights indicating its running in DOCSIS 3.0. I called Optimum and they said it should be running in DOCSIS 3.1 with my 1 gig plan. Please see the connection log to see if there are any issues. I was using Optimums modem, but it rebooted multiple several times per day. Hello everyone ,Today, I purchased a used (preowned) cable modem, specifically the SB8200 model. Upon exploring its Event Log, I noticed several recurring issues related to synchronization and ranging failures, such as:1-SYNC Timing Synchronization failure.2-No Ranging Response received.3-Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received.4-Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received.5-16 consecutive T3 timeouts while trying to range on upstream channel 8.6- Unicast Maintenance Ranging attempted - No response - Retries exhausted. Could someone please help me understand what these event logs mean? Do they indicate a problem with the device? Would it be advisable to return it, or are these issues not significant?Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I have an SB8200 modem. Currently, my modem is plugged into my Vonage phone modem, and my phone modem is connected into my Netgear Wifi router. I want to connect my SB8200 directly into my Netgear router and use one of the ports on the router to supply my Vonage modem. I tried this setup; however, I cannot get the Netgear router to recognize the SB8200 modem; i.e. I get no connection into the router.

Is it necessary to update any firmware on theSB8200 modem?

I insisted the router is fine (it's a couple year-old Asus RT-AX86U).So then he did some actual testing on the outside line and said all is good. But he did change out an attenuator where the line comes into the basement, is barreled together, and runs directly to my modem. He said it was the wrong attenuator for the service.I have whatever the top package is... gigaspeed or something like that.When I first had an issue last night, I was getting 800 download speed, and only 1.5 upload. I’m trying to get a SIP circuit to register, but the SB8200 (used with Xfinity) is blocking something. When I switch to my AT&T circuit, the SIP comes up just fine. Is there a manual for this device? I can’t seem to find one.

I bought a new unit and on first plug in I see the second blue light on, the other 3 are not lit. What does the 2nd blue light mean? 

Sb8200 been running nearly a year and it's decided to not connect to the internet, won't connect to the configuration page either via ethernet direct connection.  Is there an update out there or is this thing simply broken? Any help here appreciated

Hi Team,I am totally new to this and not a tech savy person.I was able to open the web page, 192.168.100.1, But i cannot login using the default password.Is there anyway to reset the admin password?Also once we login into the web page can we update the firmware?Can we get to know the connection statistics?

Whrn i open the app and click the “network” tab it just apins and never loads.   Should i delete app and reinstall?

My arris sb8200 stopped working this morning.  Any ideas? All the light cycle through and flash. 

I was hoping to setup 2 routers on a newly purchased SB8200 modem. I had one router configured as 192.168.1.0/24 and the other as 192.168.2.0/24I have been Googling but am stumped. I was hoping to have 2 isolated networks - if it’s possible.If there’s a KB floating around, or if anyone has some guidance, I would sure appreciate it any help.Thank you, and my apologies for a rookie question.
