SB8200

Hi,Purchased this device in March of 2023 and It recently failed.  We unplugged, tried different power strips and outlets, etc etc etc.  Finally our ISP Xfinity came to investigate and confirmed that the device was not functional.  We are looking for a replacement or refund.  Please Help!Thanks so muchHilary

I am using an external Linear power supply for my surfboard, 8200 modem. Is the diameter of the pin in the power inlet 2.1 or 2.5? Thank you

New sb8200  the lower blue light turned green after 3 weeks use.  Provider wifi has a good signal. I checked.   The eero extenders are on as a few devices have signal and are working!  I have unplugged the modem and pushed in the reset button several times to no avail.   Down stairs tv on signal, upstairs tv has signal. What gives? 

Trying to log into an active modem by using the browser.  Used the default password (last 8 s/n) and then it immediately prompts me to change the password; I’m good with that.  But when I enter the new password (example Abc#1234) is continues to prompt me to enter a valid password.  According to the displayed syntax it is correct.  I’ve tried multiple variations and when I leave something out the correct error message displays (such as numeric required, etc.).  I’m stuck in an infinite loop; every time I use a valid password I continue to get the popup “192.168.100.1 says Please enter a valid New Password.”  Modem is running fine so I don’t want to reset the modem.  Any suggestions for a solution?

Let me start by saying that I have purchased a new SB8200, had a tech replace the coax in the wall and he also provided me with a new cable. My modem signal levels, and I forget the exact values he specifically mentioned, are in the dead center of the allowed ranges. “Perfect” is how he described them (for what that's worth) because they could fluctuate and still be within the desired range.I did not have any issues with packet loss until I purchased 3.1 modems. I also own a g36 and experience the same phenomenon of 1-4% packet loss out at rather constant rate. I do not game with a router and I unplugged directly into the modem itself. I have tried different ethernet cords. I have also used the hidden troubleshoot menu on my series x and completely factory reset it… twice.I recently read a thread that someone else with a 3.1 modem was experiencing packet loss out as well. Only green power light. Factory reset does nothing. No flashing lights. No reboot. Nothing. Plugged in for several minutes. New modem. Lights were working. Did a factory reset. Now nothing but "I'm plugged in".

I have talked to Cox Tech support twice, they did everything on their end to setup the SB8200.They sent rests to the modem 5 separate times and I unplugged it everytime, the modem does not respond. All the lights go green and only one eventually turns solid blue….absolutley nothing else happens after at least 1.5 hourse on the phone with Cox Tech support.I need this unit replaced.

How to change the Management IP.  192.168.100.1 conflicts with the network subnet.

I’ve followed the instructions to factory reset the modem several times but the event log doesn’t clear. Is there anything I can do?

I cant find a clear answer on versions for SB8200.  Other questions have been asked but no clear answer.  Need v3 as preferred for Spectrum.  And am I correct that there is no way to contact Arris support unless you pay for the support tier?  Thanks !

I have Xfinity and my normal speeds are about 700mb.  However, every few days my speed slows down to 3mb and I have to boot the SB8200 to get the speeds back up.  All front lights always stay green even if there is a provider issue.???  Today no internet with all lights green, reboot the Aris and internet is back.???

I’m not able to connect my new SB8200 to my laptop to activate it. The top light is green, the 2nd one is blue and the other 2 stay green (it should be white - blue - blue -white). I’ve restarted it multiple times and also used the reset button but nothing changes. I can reconnect my old SB6190 using the exact same connections and it works fine. Any suggestions?

I just purchased the Arris Surfboard SB8200 modem.  Comcast has already registered and configured on their end.  I have two ports on the modem, I have one port direct connected to my wife’s work computer that has an IP address.  The other port is to my router for WiFi which is not getting an IP address for it.  I was informed to call ARRIS to configure the new modem. I’m waiting on hold for a support rep now.  Figure I can get some answers/help from the community.

My SB8200 does get Internet and is working but my Google nest router doesn't seem to get anything from it so I can't learn in my nest router 

If I install new sb8200 cable modem, who changes the login password to modem when done?does the cable company do that or do i changed it from default? 

I was trying to save $15 rental fee and was given used Arris SB8200 surfboard. VYVE activated it on their end but they said arris had to give me the information to get it working? There is no # to call. All I can do is write on this forum. Can someone help?

today ive noticed all my light on the modem were green. took me asking on facebook to find out that mean i am using docsis3.0 not 3.1. ive tried everything i could think of as a troubleshoot. finally i logged in to the interface and saw that there was a failed update in the logs. I think that might be causing the issue. i get it as a modem you cant manually update it as you could a router. is there anyway to fix it or do i really have to buy a new one?

Sb8200 incoming light weak and not Blue. Outgoing solid blue. Internet gets dropped for brief periods. Are these issues related? Does modem need to be replaced ?
