DOCSIS® 3.1 Cable Modem

I bought this modem yesterday and all lights were on. Today, I only have the 2nd blue light on (which tells me that I’m receiving ok) but NO other lights are on. I’ve rebooted, but it stays the same. I have a nest router attached that works fine. I also attach a switch from the nest, with a cable to my TV - which also works fine and has wired internet access. where did my lights go??? Thanks / Dan
I have RCN internet and a few times a day my internet is dropping out for about a minute or two. When it’s working everything is fine (no speed issues or anything). It’s the random drops that are the problem. At a glance it looks like my upstream power levels are low and I’m getting some errors in the system log that I don’t fully understand (Commanded Power in Excess of 6 dB Below….). RCN’s merlin page also shows micro reflections as red and yellow with values of -17.101 DB (red), -19.522 DB (yellow), -17.845 DB (red).
I need the input/output voltage, output current, polarity and plug size or a part number of anyone can assist me with finding an AC adapter for SB8200 Arris modem. I went to hook mine up a yr later and cannot find it.
I unplugged the modem & router & internet cable and moved it all to a different location in the house. But the internet plug in the wall must not be hooked up, so I moved it all back to where it all was before. Does the modem need to be reset ?
For seemingly no reason my SB8200’s DS light started flashing. There are no reported outages in my area, no cables have been moved, shifted or otherwise touched. I spoke with my ISP and they advised that my modem was not able to be detected. Any suggestions ?
The hard reset username and password - Admin and password - isn’t working. I’ve tried uppercase, lowercase, etc. I’ve also tried one and the other blank. How can I log in?
My laptop is directly connected to an SB8200 that is up and running on my ISP(Cox). I can access the modem via cell phone app, but I cannot access via PC. When I browse to 192.168.100.1, there is no response. I can browse the internet, so the modem is active and working. The phone app does not provide access to settings (bridge mode). The IPCONFIG (commandline) lists a gateway IP that does not respond. I’ve tried a lot of other typical modem IPs - nothing enables access to sign into the modem. We have tried numerous ways to sign in, so please do not suggest the methods described in the manual - BEEN THERE - DONE THAT - IT DOESN’T WORK.
I’ve been using very very slow internet for quite some time now , I use xfinity service but purchased your device . Look I know xfinity updates their modems automatically but I’ve never updated your device since purchase . Anyways, I’m suspecting that something is wrong a not only one . I noticed my router is open ? So it says on site . And upnp is the settings it’s currently on. Now I can’t connect at all and I’m gettin an error message saying he following : Internet Connection not available Internet connection is currently NOT available on your mobile device. ARRIS ERROR CODE: 0002-1002 TROUBLESHOOT before contacting support I’ve tried my best to find ways to figure things out in my own but I keep reaching a dead end and login in also fail cuz it says it locked due to fail attempt when I’ve barely have ever tried too do so i looked up the s/n [edit: removed personal information] and it points me to this device in fact being the sb8200 correct me if im wrong
I have contacted my Internet provider who directed me to you for help. They said I am having issues with the modem locking onto the router?
Can’t find the latest firmware version for my SurfBoard SB8200, which is in boot loop. Arris official support website for this product is empty, no links.
I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Astound (formerly RCN) and they could not get my SB8200 to provision. they would send signal, lights would blink, and then it would just turn off. If I reconnected the ISP supplied modem there was no connectivity issues.Tried to call Arris and even though they say they are open 7-Midnight central time the voicemail said they were closed at 10:25PM. I connected directly into the modem and couldn’t communicate with it either as the modem won’t stay on. Any ideas?
Hi, I purchased an arris modem: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M8BNVSD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 I would like to check if this router is compatible with it: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-AC750-Dual-Router-R6020-100NAS/dp/B01NBBA1HS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3VD3NFEUB8IC3&keywords=router%2Bwifi&qid=1699888830&sprefix=router%2Bwifi%2B%2Caps%2C78&sr=8-3&th=1 Thank you!
I have an Arris SB8200 Modem. Recently, it is resetting (i think) or turning off and turning on multiple times a day. It is extremely frustrating, as it used to never do this and now it is constantly doing this. The blue lights will go off, and then will turn yellow for about a minute and then go back to blue and the internet is back. Attached are the event logs and other info about the modem. What do I need to do in order to make this problem go away? Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help Downstream Upstream [EDIT: deleted image with personal information by moderator]
Hello, I don’t believe I was given a default username and password for my modem. What would they be by default? If needed, how would I hard reset?
Unable to connect to network. Password not accepted.
The modem is only a few months old and since a week I have an issue with it. I use comcast/xfinity and the downstream connectivity light has always been blue and the upstream has been green because of the slow speed of 40mbps. My download speed has always been about the same which is 900 mbps. Since the downstream connectivity light has turned green (last week) my download speed has not changed it’s still about 900 mbps and more. The only way I can have back the blue light to come back it’s by recycling the power or resetting the modem but the blue light will not last. During the day or next day it will turn green again even though the speed is still 900 mbps Anyone has any idea why this is happening? Thank you
If i connect my laptop straight to the modem most pages work, but when I plug my router it stops working
Dead SB8200. It's been barely 6 months since I purchased this modem and it's completely dead. I have a universal adaptor to make sure it wasn't the power cord. This thing is dead to the world. Nothing I can do to fix this. It's still under warranty, but I can't seem to get in touch with anyone to find out what I need to do with a piece of junk.
Hi, my SB8200 is about 3 years old. My ISP is supplying 500 mbps but I’m barely getting 200. Cox’s answer is that my modem is outdated and should be replaced. They will basically not do anything to help. I’m no expert and I realize things get outdated, but I don’t think that’s the case. Looking for opinions, some advice. Should I replace my modem?
is an Arris SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem , Approved for Comcast Xfinity, Cox, Charter Spectrum, & more , Two 1 Gbps Ports , 1 Gbps Max Internet Speeds , 4 OFDM Channels compatable with Optimum service in NJ
Short and to the point. I have a surfboard sb8200 and 2 mesh w21's. Only 3 days old from Amazon. I have 4 devices way passed the satellite and there all 2.4 only and their only on the main router. I have a camera off a ways also and it's the only one on the satellite. If I go outside with my Galaxy watch it goes on the satellite. The main says there are 4 devices with poor signals, but still work, and they won't go on the satellite. My main has 15 devices and my satellite has 1 and my watch sometimes. I've read lots of ideas from people that think their correct. It's crazy arris won't help anyone, they just have self help. I'm going to wait until 1 month when the warrenty is about to expire and return it and keep getting a new one until I get help. 👍
I installed a SB8200 with Xfinity couple of days back. All lights on the modem are green. But the event log has the following line under Downstream Bonded channels. I did reset as well as power cycle the modem. Channel ID Lock Status Modulation Frequency Power SNR/MER Corrected Uncorrectables 48 Locked OFDM PLC 688000000 Hz 7 dBmV 42 dB 422431900 0
Not connecting to WiFi
Previous to last night and now this morning; the WiFi was working perfectly but now instead of having the green and blue lights lit, it’s just all green with the last green light blinking.
I’m trying to set up an HP Deskjet 2600 to my Wi-Fi. I was online before, but I got a new internet and SB8200 modem
