Trying to login to my SBG8300 and get ALERT Operation Failed. Called Tech Support and they said my warranty has expired but if I wanted support I would have to get a warranty.

Not getting full download speed with xfinity with sbg8300

I just purchased a SBG8300 and I have xfinity 1GB plan. I previously was using an sbg6950ac2. We are direct connecting via ethernet.With the old modem, we were getting speeds of around 400 MBS using comcast speed test so we decided to upgrade. However, with the new modem we are only getting around 150MBS. We tried multiple devices and different cables. Interestingly I am getting around 350MBS using my galaxy phone using wifi…Comcast of course says they are not the problem and that I should contact the manufacturer of the modem. Any suggestions?

Bought SBG8300 for Comcast 1.2Gigabit Plan, Slower Speeds than before

Man,From everything Im reading on this forum and Xfinity forums, I really should have thought sixteen times over about getting this model.So:Looking for some suggestions here. I am a gamer, Xbox One Series X, PS5, Switch, you name it. I was not getting the speed I wanted to stream and game with friends, etc. I was paying Xfinity for one of their basic router modem combos and had the 800mbps plan. Surprisingly it was really decent speeds for that plan but my upload was capped and it was causing lag in certain situations. I bought the new router (SBG8300 which was listed as a compatible device) but Im not getting anywhere near the 1.2gbs and now Im hearing it doesn’t truly support the gigabit plans from individuals on here. Im thinking of returning this router tomorrow and getting a better model. Any suggestions on models? I am getting like 250-300mbps on direct ethernet (expensive double braided ethernet), and seems like better speeds over 5ghz wifi. But I was getting 750mbps on my old

8300 VPN not functional due to older firmware

Arris SBG8300 as provided does not allow VPN pass-thru. There is article (link below) that provides direction how to do so. But this requires newer firmware version 01.02.078.04.NCS or later to enable via ALG sub-menu. My box has earlier firmware 1.01.137.NCS which does not have the ALG menu. Thus I cannot enable VPN.Arrris support says contact my ISP (Spectrum) to push new firmware.BUT: Spectrum doesn’t have the new firmware; they say that Arris has not provided any updates since the 1.01 version.SO: caught in nowhere land, cannot use VPN. The link below is helpful ONLY if you have firmware 1.02.078 or later; if you do not, then apparently SOL??Anyone else having this issue? Any work-around?? SBG8300 Ethernet Port Speed

On my SBG8300l what would cause a single Ethernet port to deliver 10/100 while the other three deliver gigabit speeds? With Xfinity Speed Test, Ports 1, 3, and 4 deliver 250Mbps+ download, but Port 2 delivers a maximum of 92Mbps.

I bought SBG8300, internet is through Xfinity , however Samsung Smart is not able to connect the internet /WIFI. I am not sure what settings needs to do to connect TV to Wifi.

Internet dropping multiple times a day- SBG8300

Upgraded to the SBG8300 a few weeks ago. First couple of weeks went flawlessly then started having issue with internet dropping. Talked to Xfinity, no issues shown on their end. Did factory reset on the SBG8300, still having intermittent dropping issues. Power cycling the modem brings everything back online until the next instance (could be hours between occurrences). Pulled event logs from today’s drop at 9:21

How to enable parental control on SBG8300

I have the same problem with the 8300 model. I don’t have access to the devices I want to block so can’t adjust parental control settings or address settings and they seem to continue to connect even if I change the passwords and reboot. Also the surfboard app shows devices connected to a different channel than what they are logged in on.

Ethernet 570 MBps - Wifi 70 MBps - 5Gz - 500MBps Plan and Spectrum

Hello All,I just bought the SBG8300. I am getting 570 MBps on Ethernet direct to Modem, and 70 MBps to Wifi. Spectrum 500 Plan iMac 2022 - 10 feet from router Connected to 5 GHz No other devices connectredI see this complain in this community, but there is only a single reply and no conclusion. SBG8300 wifi password changed now wifi not working

I used the 192.168.0.1 to access my Arris SBG8300 Admin dashboard to change my wifi passwords. I wqs able to successfully change 1 PW for my 2.4G but as soon as it changed I lost wifi and access to the portal. I called xfinity to aak them to relink my modem using the new PW but they said “not my problem” basically and that bc I don't have an xfinity modem they don't have access to help. I need to get access back to my admin and reset my login PW too bc I realized I may have done all this wrong. So essentially I changed 1 wifi PW when I have several attached to my account ie: 5G, guest accts etc. So I’m at a loss on what to do bc none of my devices will now log back into admin. When I try I get the “ safari, couldn’t open the page because the server stopped responding” error every time. Help!!!!

SBG8300 parental control issue

I understand how to enter in websites and/or words to be blocked via the parental control using my Arris SBG8300. I understand making sure blocking is enabled and/or entering times for blocking. But I have a few issues I can't figure out how to solve. Issue #1 (and most important):Most websites I enter are blocked, but some I have entered are not blocked. For example, I need to block redgifs.com and youtube.com. These, along with a few more explicit sites, still are accessible on my kid’s school issued chromebooks. Issue #2I would like to delete or edit some of the websites I have previously entered to be blocked, but when I click on Edit or the trash can icon, I get an error message (500 - Internal Server Error). Issue #3Sometimes when I log into Parental Controls, the number of blocked websites is changed. Some are missing. Is there a limit I don’t know about? I have unplugged my SBG8300 for 5 minutes at a time, restarted everything (including computers) a number of times, b

Arris SBG8300 stopped broadcasting 2.4 GHz band

I have a Arris SBG8300 DOCSIS3.1 Modem Router. I had separate bands for WiFi, one 2.4 GHz and other 5 GHz. Both used to show up on wifi settings for connection. For the past two days I don’t see 2.4 GHz band anymore. I seldom see the 2.4 GHz band but when I try to join that network, I get the message “Couldn’t join network”. I have smart devices which use 2.4 GHz band and since 2.4 GHz is no more available, all the smart devices are useless. I have tried restarting the modem. I have also done a factory reset but 2.4 GHz band does not show.Any help is appreciated.

2.4 network not working on AC2350

The 2.4 network is not working on my new AC2350 wifi 5 router/modem.Network occasionally appears but can’t connect to it. Frustrating because some of my devices can only connect on 2.4 and there is no reliable connection. Need to return it?

Hi all,I have a SBG8300 for the past year now.lately my internet will drop or not work at all & comes I we time. I’ve had about 6 technicians at my residence come here for the last 5 weeks & they can’t seem to find the problem. I have optimum internet.has any one else had issues like me and/or have you had any experience with this modem & maybe suggest an alternative cable modem I only have the internet plan through optimum

Unable to connect new SBG8300 to surfboard app xfinity

Xfinity has activated my new SBG8300 modem and I have tried the two different surfboard apps to connect to but they are not connecting to my wifi. I need to change my wifi password.Thanks for your help.As a side note, I’m not noticing any improvement with my new modem. My video cameras are slower to load. Ugg.

Xfinity internet with SBS8300 - how to extend signal?

Hello - I have Xfinity internet and I’m using the SBS8300. In general, I have good signal and no troubles streaming or gaming, but the signal is poor in the back of the house - about 30 feet away. It’s not a big house, but there are a few walls in between. Which product can I add to improve the signal strength in that area? Thanks!
