New SBG8300 wont progress past blinking green lights

I'm trying to setup this wifi cable modem.  Followed instructions 100% multiple times over many days. The modem WILL NOT progress past blinking green lights to SOLID GREEN lights where I can activate withy carrier.   Currently sitting on blinking green lights for 1 hour.  Please help. Xfinity says it is a device issue.

No internet on SBG8300 and unable to login web portal to change the password.

I just moved. All of my devices connect to my SBG8300. However SBG8300 isn't connecting to internet. Can't login to my ARRIS gateway. Forgot password. Internet service unchanged with spectrum.

Device not connecting on SBG8300

I have an SBG8300. The 2.4 and 5 G bands have been separated. I have 15 smart home devices connected to the 2.4, most of which work just fine (the ones that don’t are FEIT bulbs and outlets, which I have been told is a FEIT app problem. These problem devices randomly show offline). I recently bought a new device (a grill/smoker) but despite there being a full 5 signal bars, it won’t connect (it also requires the 2.4). The smoker will connect to my phone via hotspot, so the smoker manufacturer states it’s an issue with the router. But what that could be is anyone’s guess. So, anyone have a guess on what the problem could be? Thank you.

SBG8300 - No internet unable to activate by ISP

I just opened my new Surfboard SBG8300 and connected to same cable I used for old modem. I activated it thru Xfinity/Comcast but they cannot connect says appears offline. How do I resolve?

Modem not turning on ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300

ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300My modem is not powering on when plugged in. No lights come on. Other devices plugged into the same outlet are working properly. I tried removing and replacing the power supply several times. I have tried another outlet with no success.

Talktone Web Phone App is not working on SB8300

I have a web app Talktone to make phone calls using WIFI. It was working fine, but all of a sudden it states that it is being blocked by the firewall that I never did anything. I was using the SBG6900 DOCSIS 3.0    I ended up buying the SBG8300 DOCSIS 3.1 and the same issues. Spectrum told me that they changed to a new version because of speed. Can anyone explain/help.  Thank you!

Latency down on SBG8300

How can I get my Latency down? I’m on a Xbox One S. With an Acers monitor 240hz 0.5 ms 1440 HD. SBG8300 is my model. I have Xfinity there best package. Speeds are great. But that Latency?

I bought an ATM Machine unable to connect internet direct to modem. Error code TCP/IP Connection timeout. My 3 other devices work perfectly on the SBG8300. Please help.

increased data reported by ISP after new SBG8300 install

Is there something technically wrong with router? ISP said usage in last 14 days is 1.2TB+ . Prior to new SBG 8300 install, our monthly usage was <1.0TB. Nothing has changed except the install of new router

Led lights are blinking and no internet on sbg8300

I have an SBG8300 and it is constantly blinking. The online and wifi are both blinking. I have tried unplugging rhe coaxil and power multiple times but it just does the same thing every time. I have also tried the factory reset button and it still does nothing. I let it sit for hours expecting it to eventually settle but it continues and I dont know what to do.

SBG8300 indicators are solid green, but no Internet

My SBG8300 modem/router has worked fine with Xfinity for a month+, but now provides no Internet access even though both status lights are solid green and Xfinity shows no outage and good connection to the modem. I have tried disconnecting the cable from the wall and modem during several restart attempts, but the problem persists.

Surfboard SBG8300 and Xfinity connectivity issues

Hello.  I am using an SBG8300 to connect to Xfinity.  Most of the time it works just fine, but several times lately the download speed has dropped from 45-50 Mbps to under 5Mbps.  If I unplug the modem, wait a couple of minutes, and plug it back in, everything returns to normal.The Xfinity service doesn’t appear to be the issue.Any idea what this could be.  I purchased the modem less and a year ago, so it’s still under warranty.The last time I’m aware of it happening was last Wednesday and Thursday, but I was away over the weekend.  It hasn’t happened today, as far as I can tell.I’ve downloaded the logs from the model administrator panel.How do I proceed from here getting technical/warranty support?Thanks.

SB8300 Connection Drops Every Hour

As the title says, every hour at nearly the exact same time my connection drops for ~1-3 minutes. Has been happening for roughly a month. Drops both wifi and ethernet connections. Only device connected is the PC.I had a cox technician tell me to my face it was from ‘overheating’ on a router that had worked just fine in warmer conditions, nevertheless the signal drops like clockwork and not spontaneous heat problems.Have also set all ‘lease duration’ settings to forever.This set of logs is from today, where the two at 11:53 correspond to (I think) when my PC was first on (the only device connected) on, and today all disconnections have happened at xx:53.Any help is appreciated, but I’d like to make good on my active warranty as this device is <1 year old and getting a new device would silence at lot of likely bogus suggestions I’ve received so far.

Intermittent internet connection on SBG8300

Why do I have to reset my modem sometimes multiple times a day? Other times. Once a week. Sometimes every day. .y dad has the exact same modem and never has to reset. It's just the wifi. Both 5 and 2.4. Hardwire works no matter what.

How do I use an SBG8300 as a router only?

Hello. I have spectrum internet rated at 300 Mbps upload and download, “symmetrical speeds” as they would say. The SBG8300 is on their list of compatible consumer-owned equipment. My equipment includes a SBG8300 that I own, and a modem (not currently plugged in) supplied by Spectrum. When just using the Spectrum modem, hard-wired to a gaming PC, speed tests show the provisioned download and upload speeds of ~300 Mbps.1. I currently have the SBG8300 setup connected to the DF cable, and an Ethernet cord connected between the SBG8300 and a gaming PC. Speed test shows 362 Mbps download and 11.01 Mbps upload, and was done from the hard-wired PC. WiFi connections to cellphones, Xbox, are a bit spotty, and I’m sometimes having issues with connectivity in online games on the PC.Spectrum techs have told me that the SBG8300 is not rated for “symmetrical speeds.” Is that true? Hello,Im having a hard time figuring out how to get arlo security base station to work. Arlo is telling me I need to open ports 80 and 443. I have done this but still having issues. I figured I cant be the only one who has went thru this. Thanks for any help provided.

No WPS on SBG8300! trying to set up TP-LINK RE615X extender

We have a few dead spots so I bought the TP-Link RE615X- very popular on an online retailer. “works with any wi-fi router” “secure one touch connection (WPS)”  Well the surfboard doesn’t have a WPS button and the alternatives TP-Link gives aren’t working.Is there a way to access a WPS reset through the router software?Old geez, non-techie

surfboard SBG8300- unable to login the GUI web portal

I reset the router. I want to create a username and password and access it. I’m able to connect to it with my laptop and it goes directly to login screen asking for my email and password. I’m not able  to get past this screen. I appreciate any suggestions.  btw, I’m using two different Surfboard routers in two locations. Can I control them both from the app?

ARRIS Surfboard SBG8300-RB no internet access

No connectivity issues until a big storm rolled through. My Alexa alarm went off in the morning and I couldn’t turn it off by talking to it so I went over to unplug and noticed it had no internet connection. When I got home later that day still no internet. I unplugged it for 30 seconds, nothing. Then again for 2 minutes and nothing. I noticed the lights never blinked or changed colors. They both are solid blue when plugged in, off when unplugged then right back to solid blue as soon as I plug it back in. I tried doing a hard reset and it won’t even respond to me pushing the reset button for 10 seconds or 30 seconds. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!

Unable to Add Device from surfboard app in Parental Controls - SBG8300

I am trying to set up Parental Controls through the SURFBoard Central App on my SBG8300. In My Experiences tab I have created a User Profile under Parental Control and when I move to +Add Device I see a selection of devices I can select.  When I select a device and click ADD DEVICE at the bottom it spools for a while and then clears the page, not adding the device.  It does this with every device on the list.  I cannot add any devices as it spools and then clears ever time.  Why is it spooling and what can I do to get a device added to the User Profile?

SBG8300 won’t connect to online and led light is flashing

I’m having trouble getting my router restarted. It stopped working today (blue light was flashing) so I did a hard reset according to what I found from arris online. It now won’t stop blinking blue which I think means the IP isn’t connected? I’ve tried resetting again but that still isn’t helping. Do I just need a new router?

SBG8300 Not Broadcasting 2.4GHz band

I have a SBG8300 with a customized 5GHz and 2.4GHz band. My ISP is Sparklight and I am located in Arizona USA.The 5GHz band shows up on all my devices, but I can’t see the 2.4GHz band. I have tried multiple tablets, mobile phones, laptops, and my desktop computer. None of the devices can detect the 2.4GHz band.My internet speed is over 300mps upload and download (though I don’t think that would have any effect on the band broadcasting) and the 5GHz band connects perfectly to compatible devices. 2.4GHz is nowhere to be seen. I did use band steering previously, but we recently got a few devices that only use 2.4GHz. I turned off band steering and the 2.4GHz band isn’t detected by any device in any location inside or outside my house.I did everything I can think of to troubleshoot and nothing has worked.Two factory resets (each of these settings tried on each reset) Default 2.4GHz band and a custom 2.4GHz band with new SSID and password Guest 2.4 wifi also did not broadcast; default or cu
