SBG8300

ive tried too access my user interface but no luck. it says i have an unsupported browser so i downgraded to the minimum it asks for and still no luck. i know my credentials are correct when login but its not letting me login. i havent changed the password infact ive never been able to login at any point.

SBG8300 been working okay… but noticed the 2.4Ghz SSID might appear, and might not appear. If I reboot the SBG8300 after a while it might appear for a few seconds on SSID list, then go away. If you connect a hardwire and login to admin page you can see that the Broadcast SSID is set to Broadcast. There are SO MANY posts on this exact topic hard to keep track, and the answers are all pretty poor. Answers like do a hard reset on the modem, which I would have to do and reconfigure monthly - not a good answer. Or the answer to go in and set it to Broadcast. That one came from a NewBie just trying to rack up points. Why are SO MANY SBG8300 failing to broadcast the SSID for the 2Ghz band ? Sounds like a firmware problem to me. And I own this, so it is not monitored or updated by my ISP. Alike others here, my smart home Iot devices all stopped working when this problem started.

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG8300 and the blue online button is blinking as well as the green WiFi button is also blinking. My WiFi is not working and I’ve unplugged it for 30s and did a factory reset and nothing is working. What should I do?

I do not currently have my surfboard. Modem router combo connected because it was getting us very slow speeds, but when it was connected, it would show that it was connected from our device to the router modem, but there would be a big x going from the modem to the outside connection. We would still have internet, but it would always be slow. How do I fix that problem? Thanks much. Pat

I purchased my SBG8300 March 3, 2025, and it has stopped working. I know it is the modem because the issue I was having is gone now that I have borrowed a different modem. How do I input a warranty claim to get a refund for the modem?

Is there a secret to clearing / releasing all clients previously connected to my SBG8300? I have performed a factory reset before, however everything previously connected reappears in the connected client list. Today I called Arris Surfboard Tech Support to inquire about updates for my SBG8300. The agent’s false and totally untrue answer: “Your Internet Provider provides updates for your Surfboard modem”. Thus insinuating that I am an ignorant buffoon, which I plan to deal with later. Question: How do I receive software updates for my modem?

I downloaded the Surboard app and try to register but I was never given the chance to create a password. When I try to access the 192.168.0.1 it asks for an email and password. How do I create a password so I can access the settings in my modem/router? Thanks.

I have a wifi system based on an Arris SBG8300. My Open Sprinkler (running a Raspberry Pi, I think) has a controller that connects to the routher encode to use a url of 192.168.4.1 It fails to connect. (times out). I presume this is a setting on the rother that rejects addresses like this. Suggestins?

Can you please tell me how to log in to the Arris SBG 8300. I got it about a year ago and never set up an account and want to locate the devices that are connected to it and change the password.

I have owned a T25 router in Texas for about 4 years now and it has worked flawlessly for the entire time I’ve owned it. However, a new problem has popped up. I purchased a wifi enabled pellet smoker made by Recteq. The smoker will not connect to my router. I have reached out to Recteq’s technical support half a dozen times and they cannot resolve it. What they are telling me is that something with the router is preventing the smoker from connecting (they confirmed this when the smoker will attach to my secondary cell phone’s hotspot). They informed me that there is something with the router blocking the smoker from connecting. I have gone into my router dashboard via the IP address and have confirmed that the “blocked list” button is turned off (and even if it was on, there are no devices or addresses in the list). I have also lowered my firewall protection to the lowest setting allowed. The smoker simply won’t connect. Does anyone have an idea why this might be and how might I remedy

I have a SBG8300 on my first floor; the home is 3 floors/2700 sqft - the coverage inside the home is solid but if I step out to the deck the signal is very weak. Want to add a Wi-Fi extender on the 3rd floor to improve connection/coverage but not sure what model/brand is compatible with my SBG8300. Note: don’t think adding a mesh is possible, don’t have cable/Cat5 on third floor.

Needed to upgrade router bought the model listed above. It is a Modem & Wi-fi Router. I believe it can broadcast 2.4 or 5. Since installing my generator and house cameras will not work because it is saying I need to use a 2.4 connection. I have downloaded surfboard and thought I changed it but I can’t get them to connect. Please help a completely in-tech savvy person get my stuff to work. Layman’s terms are appreciated. lol

How to do a factory reset on a SBG8300

SBG8300 attempting to connect to Xfinity WiFi. The last step indicates that the modem is restarting before you can use your WiFi , but the modem WiFi lights continue to blink and it does not connect. this has happened repeatedly, any advice on how to finish the setup would be greatly appreciated.

I have dual band. 5G often needs to be reset. Today I believe I accidentally tried to enter bridge mode. Now both bands are down. Can’t get on to internet to repair. Can’t connect. normally I go to 192.168.0.1. But I can’t even access that now. help?
