Only one of 20+ devices show online on the app

Does Arris offer a range extender compatible with the SBG 8300 or G54 modem-routers?

For the last couple months (roughly 6 or so) my (refurbished) SBG8300 has been randomly rebooting. Sometimes it’s 2pm, sometimes it’s 10pm, on any given day. It’ll  stay up for maybe 4-6 days and then all of the sudden reboot. I can confirm this is what’s happening because the uptime timer restarts. My internet will drop and then my router will have the solid blue light on the internet icon. The reboot takes 5-10 minutes to complete and then it’s back on like nothing ever happened. The device is already connected to a UPS and no other devices connected to it have ever had any power issues. My ISP is Xfinity (unfortunately no other options) and they’ve confirmed everything looks good on their end. We’ve done the whole song and dance of rebooting the signals and my router multiple times but it doesn’t change anything.I’ve been having this issue with this router for at least the last 6 months and have just been dealing with it since I’m no longer under warrant

I recently installed an SBG3800.  The Surfboard Web Manager only shows 9 connected devices; the Surfboard Central iOS app shows 0 connections.  I can see all 12 connections on the Fing app.  I have tried restarting the modem. Hardware Revision: 6Software Image Name:AR01.02.078.04_092820_711.NCS.10Firmware Version:01.02.078.04.NCSRDK-B-LLC:rdkb-20171127SDK:7.1Wi-Fi Driver:4.7.23.30.4.0

I was having connection issues on my Arris SBG8300 using 5G. I enabled band steering, and now the 5G channel doesn't even show up as an option. 

No Port Forwarding 

Xfinity just  sent me an email stating that my Arris SBG8300 modem will not deliver 1.2 Gbps which is the speed provided by their network. My speed check comes to 868.5 Mbps and I am CAt6 hard wired to the modem approximatly 20 feet away.Can anyone on  this form collaborate this info? And if so, does Arris have any suggestions to remedy this problem? Software upgrade?

i cant access the admin login. i used the default login after i reset the router and still cant get in. it does say im using an unsupported version of chrome but mine in is updated and because of that the browser is unsecure. I've tried adjusting every security setting and even downloading an older version of chrome but nothing has worked. i could use some help if anyone has any ideas

I bought an SBG8300 gateway a couple months ago, replacing an Xfinity rented gateway. Since then, I’ve had an issue where connecting my laptop to the wifi will cause the network to crash within about 30 seconds, sometimes faster. I have one desktop PC connected via ethernet, my phone is sometimes but not always connected and does not cause the crash, and there is a wifi printer which seems to have connection problems in general (I believe it may crash the network too, but it is hard to tell, since it disconnects at random - I believe this is an issue with the printer). My network is 400 mbps with Xfinity, and I had no issues while using their (rental) gateway. The laptop, a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge which came out very recently and is new, will cause this crash consistently. I have a 800 mbps service from xfinity. I get roughly 500 mbps wired and less that 100 mbps wireless.  I’m sitting 5 feet from the router unobstructed.  Doesn’t matter if it’s on the 2.4 or 5 channels. what are your thoughts? Thanks! 

I have an unknown device showing on my surfboard app.   I've been throughout my home and can't find any other devices I haven't named in my surfboard.  I want to remove or block access to this device but I don't know how to do either of those things on my android phone app.  Can you please tell me how I'd go about blocking or deleting this device from my system? I have my 2 printersMy NEST  ThermostatSon's Play StationFirestickVIZIO TV and all other things that were connected to network on itROKU TV3 EVO FORCE1 boxes for televisionsMy phoneSon's phoneSon's laptopMy laptop Been through the house, no idea what this last thing could be.   Unplugged Alexa,  but apparently that is Bluetooth.  

I own my sbg8300 modem-router and use Mediacom. Recently it stopped working and I couldn't connect to the admin page, so I hardcoded my computer IP settings, connected to the router, and found that the ipv4 settings were all wrong. I reset them and the router worked for two weeks. Today they are messed up again and it won't save my changes. Right now the gateway is set to 120.74.103.183 and the subnet is 0.208.94.67. These are wrong, right? Is my firmware corrupted? How do I fix it?

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG8300 where the password for the 2.4GHz network isn’t working with new devices. I can connect to the modem/router and the password for the 2.4GHz network is correct in the Admin portal. Devices that have been connected to this network are working fine, but when I try to connect a new device (Echo Dot) to the network, I get an invalid password error. I’ve verified the password in the admin panel is correct and I’ve entered the password several times into the Alexa app that connects the Echo Dot, but I still get the password error. I have many devices using the 2.4GHz network, and they are all working fine. The error only happens when I try connecting new devices.This doesn’t happen only on Amazon products. I only have this error on new devices that are limited to a 2.4GHz network. My only workaround is to use the 5GHz network. My sbg8300 shows only blue light and lights do not change. I cannot connect to modem using Ethernet. I tried resetting the router but nothing happens.

Just bought the modem and tried to set it up with Xfinity. The WiFi is connecting fine, but I can’t access the network. I think the password is incorrect. Please advise. 

I need some help troubleshooting the wireless my SBG8300. My wifi is dropping out daily and sometimes multiple times a day. For a connected device, the wifi will stop working. Sometimes the device will show connected with no internet and sometimes it will drop the connection. Sometimes the SSID is still visible but devices are unable to connect. Sometimes the SSID is not visible. Once I reboot the modem, all wifi radios are working again. This has been happening for months but more frequent recently.I have a 2.4gz radio set up, I have a 5ghz radio set up and I have a 2.4ghz isolated guest network set up. Sometimes the 5ghz radio will stop working and the others will continue to work. Sometimes the 2.4ghz radio will stop working and the other will work and sometimes all the radios stop working.I have tried all the steps located here: 

I bought the SBG8300 about a year ago and hooked it up to my existing Google Nest wifi bundle (which includes a router and two access points). The Google nest was hooked up to my previous Verizon router with no problems. A year ago we switched to XFinity and that is when the issues began, just not that often, until now. On occasion this past year, we have had wifi issues connecting to the Google nest. But over the past few weeks, it has been a non stop problem. One of the access points keeps going offline. I have tried cycle powering them down and then up and that works for a little while, before one of the points goes offline again. I am currently using 1G service from Xfinity but will be switching to Quantum fiber next week - that will entail using a mesh network they will install and my Arris wifi cable modem will no longer work with the fiber service.  I’ve been using a wired connection for my office computer and wanted to see what will change when it goes to a wireless (mesh) network after the fiber is installed.  So, I ran some tests comparing the wired and wireless speeds from my current SBG 8300 cable modem.What I see is that I get 924/42 speeds from the wired connection and 380/41 from the wireless connection.  The wireless test is using the 5G connection with my computer sitting 6 feet from the modem and no other devices currently being used.  I also tested my speed in my basement using the 5G network and it also shows around 400/40.  Presumably the 5G connection should be getting about double that - and I do get double with the wired connection.  So, my question is why the wireless connections

My slow speed internet lost wi if connection with devices in the house but high speed devices continued to remain connected after an internet and power outage. I tried reentering WiFi passwords on the slow devices no luck. I logged on to surfboard app and toggled bridge mode. Now all devices connect on to the WiFi signal in the house but are no longer connected to the internet. How do I reset modem/ router to factory settings without bridge mode. Surfboard internet location 192.168.0.1 no longer works. 

I got a SBG8300 and I reset it cause it was running slow and now it’s stuck on the blue light and it don’t even let me reset it again. I unplugged it overnight and still the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. 

Replacing an older modem/router that was continuously dropping the connection. I finally got the connection to work, but now I can not get access to the gateway to rename the hardware or to change passphrases. Does this require a factory reset?

I installed the SBG8300 modem/wifi router yesterday. Connected devices are working great. I logged in the GUI and can see the connected devices, nevertheless the iPhone app shows “00” devices. I have restarted the modem and it does not fix the issue. What is interesting is that the web GUI shows all the connected devices, but not the iPhone app

Why do my SBG8300 Cable Modem & Wi-Fi- Router keeps disconnecting from my internet???
