Is there any way to send the Event Logs to a syslog server?Local carrier is having issues, but wants to see local modem logs before they’ll open a Support ticket.

Comcast said the first time our netgear modem may be too old, even though it was a docsis 3.1.  We got a motorola a few days later and had the same issues.They came back a few weeks later and replaced the old rg58 drop (they should have done that a long time ago)  and ran a new cable from the pole all the way to the modem outlet. Signal improved, dropouts slightly improved but still goes out for minutes to an hour. A week later they came back again, replaced a port on the pole and adjusted the DB down a little. But didn’t make any difference. On the comcast board someone said that motorola may have a firmware issue causing all the errors on the OFDM channel. So we got the SB8200 and this one too is having dropouts and the log is full of errors. Comcast says everything looks fine on their end.  It’s doubtful we had 3 bad modems in a row. All these errors are just from just 2 hours of uptime and we are loosing connection every 5 minutes now.

I have a SB8200 surfboard modem.  Trying to connect my LG tv to the wifi but do not know how to find the password.  I’ve looked on the bottom of the modem and tried everything there but nothing works.  The other thing that is strange is that the tv and my computer call the a MOTOF512...and not an Arris surfboard.  Maybe Motorola used to own Arris or something.  I don’t know.  Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!

My Kindle tells me my wifi password is I correct. Where can I find the password on y modem. I want to sure. The one I see kindle doesn't  like

greetings, I recently purchased an ARRIS surfboard SBG10 through Best Buy. When I was researching this item, the website indicated it was a modem and router combo, however, when I picked up the item, the description on the box only said ‘wifi cable modem’. When the technician came to install my service, he informed me that this was only a modem and didn’t have the router.I checked other images, including the ones on the ARRIS website, and the box description said ‘cable modem and wifi router’ clearly for product SBG10 while mine does not say this.My question is, how can I verify the device I purchased is a combo gateway instead of a just a modem as described on the box? Thanks

Can my Arris 6190 modem be upgraded to DOCSIS 3.1?

Have a SBG 8300 gateway and I am unable to connect to my work server. Internet connection is fine. I unfortunately have basically no understanding of how this works. My IT person says it’s a xfinity problem, xfinity says it’s a modem problem. Which I believe because I can log on everywhere but home.  

Ethernet works, but I don't see WIFI.  Friends see “my” WIFI on their computers/smart phones. (I don't have a smart phone) When I log in to Surfboard, it says unsupported Browser.

Installed new SVG2482AC modem the Power, US/DS, Online lights are solid steady white BUT 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz & Tel lights blink/flicker continuously.  Is it normal for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz & Tel to blink continuously?

I cant get past the terms and conditions on the app. Keeps saying error access not allowed. How do I solve this?

I use a SVG2482AC and wifi is slow even nearby.  I use TP-Link extenders to help areas of the house where I am most, but wifi speed is still slow.  Wired cable modem using Xfinity give me about 750mbs to my MacBook Pro, buy wifi around the house is weak. Will a new maxPRO W31 mesh wifi network work with a SVG2482AC cable modem?  Is this the fastest configuration? 

I am having an issue with something eating my allowed data for the month. Xfinity has been bugging me about my ancient modem so updated with Arris SBG10 modem/router, which I got from Ebay.  Overall setup was straightforward and it basically works, but DHCP service is weird.  I add entries to the list of reserved clients, following the “add”/”apply” protocol.  I get the refresh/log back in routine as described in the tutorial.  But the entries don’t stay on the list over refresh/reboot. I also tried changing a linux computer on my home LAN to Fixed IP, but the SBG10 doesn’t consistently accept that address. Sometimes it does, sometimes it assigns a new address.  My SBG10 also seems erratic just showing all attached clients.Is the SBG10 known to do this sort of thing? Perhaps I just got a bum example?

Working on my dad’s SurfBoard 6700. Using a mac via Safari. I can access the modem after bypassing the secure connection warnings, then entering the logon credentials. However, I get his page displayed  Sure can't do anything with THAT.Something is blocking the full page access.

I contacted Arris for support and pointed out an issue with the log file and they failed to acknowledge a problem.   They had me reset it.   The problem repeats.  The log can easily get overloaded and fail to allow you to log in and get the reports.      So I need the logs.   I  am having problems both with my internet provider at the same time.  I have been online and on the phone with them.  I have had the cable repairman out.  The cable repairman insists that the input power levels are sufficient and that if he increases them the reflections it will cause too much noise.  I used this forum as well.   I noticed the modem would report that it had issues with updating software when it was started up.   And what help did I get from this forum?   Now I get a message they have closed out my topic and lists it solved.   I have two big companies pointing their fingers at each other and I am stuck in the middle.  I have spent 40 hours of effort trying to solve this issue.  A bit frustrated. 

Hi! I’ll start with my first question. Does the CM8200 support LAG(LACP)? and also I can’t access my web interface on my SB8200 from a 192.168.0.0/24 network, is this a known bug? It’s not shutdown in the config file. What is the current version of firmware on DigialCM? My ISP (Midco) seems to think that two year old firmware is up to date.

When I try to connect to the admin page, I get this message: Secure Connection FailedAn error occurred during a connection to 192.168.0.1. Peer using unsupported version of security protocol.Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION    The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.    Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.This website might not support the TLS 1.2 protocol, which is the minimum version supported.  It happens on every browser I have. I saw a similar post and the person was told to disconnect the coax cable. Clearly this doesn’t work, because the problem is that the admin page has security issues. I don’t really feel like paying $40 for a live chat, and I can’t time travel back to Internet Explorer where I could override security flaws, so, what are the options?

Upgraded my modem/gateway/router from SBG6900 and G34 and immediately had problems with my TIVO mini’s being unable to connect to the Host DVR.  Problem lasted a couple of weeks with no help from ARRIS (assured me nothing internally was being blocked) or TIVO (couldn’t tell me what protocol they used for discovery).Problem was solved when I discovered the setting for “Zero Config” (Bonjour type discovery) under Advanced > Device Discovery > Zero Config was disabled.  Enabling it allowed my TIVO mini’s to immediately connect to the host DVR.  Note that this setting is on a page that is mainly about UPNP.This could affect anyone else who has printers or other devices that use the Bonjour Zero config capability to connect to one another.

Why does the Surfboard Central app keep saying no network available? But it show all Wi-Fi units online. And can't do a speed test .

Sbg8300 isn't recognizing the 2 play fi devices that worked fine with my previous router. I run the setup routine but they don't show up, have done factory resets on both devices.  Am thinking there may be something in the surfboard setting preventing the discovery of them.  Would appreciate any suggestions or insights. Thanks in advance.

Is there a setting that must be enabled to provide normal speeds through the 2.5g port? I’m unable to connect to the internet via the 2.5g port on the back of my G36 with more than minimal (under 1mbps) speeds.  I have Xfinity Gigabit (1.2Gbps) and with the 1g ports I can routinely get ~1Gbps with a wired connection. When I plug the same patch cable (both Cat5e and Cat6) into the 2.5g port, there is no signal to my office 4-port switch, and almost no connection speed to my laptop 4ft. away from the gateway.  Am I wrong in thinking that 2.5g port should operate the same, and better, than the other four ports? 

I would like to try ethernet wiring my AX600 satellite. What port do I use on the satellite device and do I need to set it up or will it realize that it is in ethernet?  If I need to set it up, how?  I tried plugging it in to an ethernet cable and it seems to stay on the wireless backhaul.  How do I check the backhaul connection?

Can removing the 2.4GHz link increase 5G speeds?

Hi all, So I have a SBG7400AC2, and have added a number of devices to the Reserve client list..So why is the Reserved IP Client List not updating on the new devices, even after days,yet if the device is turned on it does get the assigned IP. So it seems that both Attached Client List and the Reserved IP Client List are not showing correctlyas i have some 60+ devices and I see onlu 25 at best Any Ideas, seems the software is upto daye a do not se any updates for it Any help would be appreciated M
