when setting up my network, there are instructions to allow the "SURFBoard-Onboarding' wifi network and then to add a second secured network. i would like to secure them both. how do i do this?/

I just bought the W21 Surfboard units and I’m attempting to set a wired backhaul. I adopted the Main W21 and got it fully up and operational without issues. Main W21:WAN: Xfinity Router I then did the adoption process for the Satellite unit and got it setup and connected. It established it’s WiFi link to the Main router and devices connected and worked. Speeds were low at about 0.5 GB but wasn’t planning on leaving it wireless anyway. Adopted to the following:Main W21: WAN: Xfinity RouterLAN: Adopted W21 Satellite Satellite W21:WAN: to the LAN of the Main W21. The app shows the Satellite W21 getting an IP from the Main W21 with a LAN IP address but it refuses to make the backhaul and keeps connecting wirelessly. I’ve factory reset everything and tried all over again to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi, I have followed all the steps given on various knowledge articles to see if the parent control works on this new routers we bought. But none have worked. I have reset router, reset the iOS app, deleted and redownloaded it but none works. Once I turn on the internet pause nothing happens and kids continue to stay on their PCs. What is the issue here?

What did I just buy? This router can’t be configured via LAN? I bought this router to be a dedicated offline local network to use Virtual Desktop with my VR headset. I can not believe that you can even create a device like this and force us into an app this way. It’s absolutely terrible. Why is this app asking for access to ALL MY PHOTOS AND VIDEOS? Why can it not get passed the code verification screen? Why can’t I use a default gateway to access the router? This is an absolute nightmare, and I will NEVER waste my time or money with this company again. I’m about to throw this thing at the wall. This is robbery, you want me to make an account, serve me ads and put me on your email lists, steal all the info from my cell phone, and it is the absolute WORST ethics I have EVER experienced with a networking device. Add Arris to the list of never buy again. Thanks for giving me a garbage product and a lucrative way for me to waste my money.

Hi, I just setup a 3 pack of the W21 mesh routers, and the horrible app aside, I’m having a couple of issues with guest network. It seems to be only on the 2.4GHz band and not 5GHz. This should at least be configurable. Putting this aside for now. The main issue is the guest network is only broadcast from the main router node, and not the satellite nodes. And if any of the nodes are swapped around, the same node that was the main node will keep broadcasting the guest network, but the new main node will not. This is very strange and frustrating as the whole point of a mesh is to spread the wifi throughout a wide area, there is no point to only broadcasting the network from one node. Plus the way that the guest network config seems to “stick” to the node that was set up with it suggests that it’s an issue of the guest network config not propagating to the satellites when it’s configured. Just installed W21 mAX AX6600 (1 router, 2 satellites). I have fiber modem providing internet to main router connected to the WAN port. Main router is connected to an unmanaged 1gb switch via LAN port that provides wired Ethernet to the two satellites. I have the Cat5e going into the Lan ports on the satellites. The app is telling me my data link to the satellites is slow (0.40gbps). Any idea what I need to do to fix this?

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but this app is a hot piece of garbage and I have no earthly idea how it ever got past QA. If I close the app then it forgets everything and acts like im setting up a new network. The ONLY way I am prompted to sign in with my email is during initial setup only after uninstalling the app. The only time the app shows any details about connected devices or anything is after initially setting up the first node IF I dont close out of the app for any reason. Regardless, Ive managed to get the first device setup but no matter what I do I cannot add another satellite. Clicking the option in the side menu just takes me to the My Network page which is perpetually “Loading...” If I close out of the app in order to relaunch then it forgets everything. If I redo setup then it fails when adding a satellite. Im seriously at a loss on what to do. I can honestly say I have never experienced a worse provisioning process… and I worked in IOT for 10 years… Does anyone have

I have the Arris Surfboard Max Ax6600 mesh system and I’m attempting to have them connected to my existing router to act as an extender. How do I connect it to my existing WiFi network and turn on bridge mode? It only gave me the option to create a new network.

I just got 3 W21 mesh wifi system. Downloaded the surfboard central app and went through the steps, once it's searching for updates it gives a error code 0000-1401. I've done resets on the modem and all the W21 devices and tried each on the app but having the same issue

I bought 3 w21 mesh routers. Im on the latest version of the surfboard central app. My issue is every time is go to connect, the w21 starts to update in the app and never gets past the update part. It always fails everytime. I'm doing pass through from the at&t bgw320-500 router. Even the support were no help. Is there away to just bypass the update part? Any info is welcome thanks

Just got the mesh system from woot and still trying to separate the bands with multiple ssids. Like to keep all my Alexa/Smart stuff on the 2.4 band. Right now, I do not have that option in the central app like what everyone posted. Did they remove that option?

Have a Arris T25 cable modem with Xfinity 600mbps Internet/Voice plan. I have a Netgear 6400v2 ac1750 router and everything runs great. I want to replace the Netgear router with a mesh W121 MAX ax6600 (P/N WR00ZAE21DB) which I have two units as one will be a satellite. I run the Surfboard Central App and follow directions (power down modem and router, modem cable to WAN of W21...) and go through the setup process fine until I get to end where it wants me to connect to newly created SSID which I called (Buddie’s) with my new password which I entered 100% correct. Can’t connect to the WIFI and am thrown to the Xfinity activation screen. W21 router blinks green and white at this time and when I checked Xfinity app to activate T25 modem it says I do not have an Internet plan when I do (Message from Xfinity app: (“You need xfinity internet to continue” exit activation). I did a chat with Xfinity and had them activate the modem but still couldn’t connect W21. I tried this with both w21 units

During the install process I am unable to connect to the SURFBOARD-Onboarding network. I can’t find it on my available network list on my iPhone. I’m right next to my W122 that I’m trying to install and it’s definitely within range of my network. Please help.

I seem to have set up my Arris surfboard max w121 ax6600 and satellite correctly (both are showing a blue ring and I have internet access). At one point I had access to the Arris surboard manager and could see my network and run speed tests) but for some reason I am now unable to. I re-installed the app (orange colored) and clicked setup my wireless gateway device - provided my wifi network name and password and got a success you have successfully connected. clicked continue and got an error cannot connect to your wireless gateway. Provided my credentials again and got the error network connectivity to wireless gateway has been lost. Please try again. Tried several times with no luck. Suggestions?

So many issues: I can setup the initial router. But it just hangs on “add a satellite” with “next” doing nothing. Cancel works just great. Assuming I give up on adding a satellite (which I am not) once the initial router is up and running (and working) if I exit the app on the phone and restart it, it wants to redo the entire setup of the initial router over again. Should I just return this ?

I have W121 MESH that I tried connecting. First W21 I tried connecting as main didn't connect for a while even after multiple resets. After 30mins the LED turned off completely and not sure if it is dead. Second one in the set I am able to connect as main and tried connecting the one with no led as a satellite but no luck. Is it dead? When I try to reset the LAN and WAN light glows and turns off. No issues with the power adapter. Please advise.

I have 2 w121 routers, i am able to setup the “main” router, when i go through the app (firmware: Edit : personal information). I proceed to install additional satellite, install now, select my w121, it goes to add satellite screen and does NOTHING after that. I have reinstalled the app, reset both routers, keep 2nd router off, tried with 2nd router on and also hardwired. It does not move forward from this point. I have reviewed there pdf, to ensure proper procedures are followed. This seems to be an issue with the app itself. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I enable only 2.4 GHz on my SURFboard W21 mesh router, I’m trying to install my Arlo doorbell chime. And it needs to install on 2.4 GHz. Thank you for your help!

Hello i have the W21 mesh router and i want to make my wifi speeds slower because im almost at my data limit for my ISP. If i use more than my threshold, they will charge me fees. How do i limit my wifi speeds? I have tried it on the surfboard central app and there are no such settings, and the surfboard max app doesnt work either. I assume the w21 isnt supported by that app. The surfboard central app has barely any functionality. I have had super cheap routers with much more capability in the settings.

In the Surfboard Central app, both my router and satellie are appearing offline. I still have an internet connection and both lights are blue. I have rebooted the router a couple of times but no luck

Can you tell me the latest firmware numbers for the W21 series? I was gifted 2 of these and I’m trying to update the firmware. Apparently that is usually automatic, but I want to be sure.

When I bring up the remove device page in the app, it only shows the satellite. I need to disconnect an individual device on the network not an entire W21.

When I try to access my ARRIS SURFboard mAX router, I get the following message: “The device or resource (the local IP-address for the router) is not set up to accept connections on port “HTTPS”. I have been using the IP-address or xxx.xxx.xxx.1 on my local network. Is that correct? If not, what address should I be using? If it is, how do I correct the issue?

Had one of my W21s go down after the software update bricked one of my routers. received my replacement, and have been trying to add the second replacement w21 router as satellite. unfortunately, the main router doesn't show in surfboard central. I only see the modem in the application, so it won’t let me add a satellite. the main w21 router is blue and connected to the internet; just doesn’t show up in the Surfboard Central Application; therefore can’t add the satellite. saw a similar post, but didn’t see the issue ever resolved.
