I replaced my Motorola MB8600 with an Arris Surfboard SB8200 yesterday. I don’t see a way to clear the Event Log. How do I do that? Thanks!

I have a SB6183 and often have lower internet speeds than my current plan and high latency. When I contacted my provider, they had to reboot service on their side to correct the problem. However, I still have high latency. When I advised him that my ISP had to reboot before and my issue with high latency, he inquired about the age of my modem. I told him it at least 3 years old and he suggested upgrading to on with docsis 3.1. Is he correct? Current plan is 300Mbps. Speed was at 50Mbps before call. Thanks.

I’ve been experiencing a large increase in my internet connections going down for ~5 mins at a time over the last few months.  I have an SB6190 that is about 2.5y old and an Eero Pro router, and live in a house small enough that I have never had coverage problems with just the one router.  After an initial chat with Optimum’s tech support, they immediately pointed the blame at my modem and offered to hook me up with their rented one, because of course that is the first thing they’d want to try.  Can anyone take a look at the status and error log screenshots below and tell me if it really is time to upgrade modems, or if I need to push Optimum a little more?

Hi AllAs mentioned in the title, my signal has been dropping very frequently over the last several weeks. I’ve contacted my ISP (cox) and they gave me the run around (reboot your devices). I’ve also contacted Arris last night and the suggestion I received was to ask my ISP to increase the power on my upstream channels to which the cox tech had no idea what I was talking about so here I am… I’ve factory reset my router, I don’t believe that’s the issue. I’ve done a little research and it seems having high uncorrectables is an issue, this screenshot is from today after i reset my modem 12 hours ago. thanks. I purchased this modem and my asus router both a year ago and had no issues until recently.

HI, I have recently connected to Cox Communications and the Geek Squad was here from Best Buy to connect it to the modem and it’s currently running at 250, not 500.  Cox said that I need a software update and it can be done remotely?  Can you please advise? thank you,Julia 

Can't scan bar code during set up

My 6 year old Arris Docsis 3 died. I purchased a new SB3200. My Provider, Optimum (previously Suddenlink) got it working, but my 300 Mb connection is only running at 20 Mb. An Optimum technician came yesterday to check wiring in my apartment building and also hook up a new neighbor's account with a  rented Docsis 3 modem. We now share one cable back to the pole, and his new modem runs at 300, while mine is still running at 20. He said Optimum’s phone tech help my not have provisioned my modem correctly. I need the 300 for streaming and to support a stable VPN back to work if needed. What do I need to do?

I have a new sb8200 after replacing my SB6190 after hearing of a chipset problem. Just as my sb6190 did my sb8200 is rebooting randomly through out the day. Talk to ISP they said oh its cause you have 3 different mac ids on account so he cleared them thinking that would work, it didnt. I have a tech coming out to look at the connection speeds because they are low. I also get this message in the modem log “ Missing BP Configuration Setting TLV Type: 17.2;CM  “ with an date that is way off.    

The top port does not work according to a comcast tech. The bottom port does work. We used the top port for 6-7 months when internet quit. The comcast tech tested the modem and said the top port was not responding. I called Arris tech support to see about getting a replacement modem and was told that this model only one port works. Sounds dubious. Any responses?

Does the SB8200v2 still support Link Aggregation? Just replaced a VERY old SB8200 hardware v4 with a new SB8200 and its a SB8200v2 hardware version 1. The firmware that came with it is TB01.01.001.05_012122_212.0A Am I out of luck or just waiting for my ISP to upgrade it to the latest (2.X) firmware.

hi, I just recently purchased and installed this device. It works fine, I mean I can navigate through the internet flawlessly. But I’m having this behavior on my unit, the first light which I think is power is on and white same as the fourth light, the other 2 are blue. Based on the manual of my modem the lights should be either green or blue. Does that mean my modem is faulty?

Is there anyway I can change the brightness on the front panel LED’s? They light up my whole room at night.

Trying to link a cellspot to my Arris Surfboard and it will not link up through ethernet connection, says it has to have UDP ports 123, 500 and 4500 “opened” for them to communicate …. Logged into Surfboard , I cannot find anything referencing these ports …. Any help would be greatly appreciated … Thank you  

ref: Upstream Light Not Blue just whitish color or no colorHi,  Have searched the Internet high and low  looking for a solution to this problem only to find vagaries or possible blame on the user, or the cables.Just to mention, that 3 days ago all internet coaxial ethernet cables from the pedestal to the SB8200 as well as the full operating signals, have been checked one by one by an Xfinity technician and found them all in excellent working order.Also as suggested by some users, or instructions on faq performed a reset, to no avail.Have performed a number of restarts following Xfinity’s instructions as well as those found in the manual or this site to no avail.   Unless I am able to find a solution to the problem of Upstream light not blue after completing a restart, will have to return the modem to the place it was bought from since I am still within the limits of days to return an Item.Please help me find a working solution as

What are my upgrade options to my XB3 that’s compatible with my Comcast essentials program landline phone and internet services?

I am so perplexed!!! All of a sudden I am  unable to connect to all my devices at home. I contacted my Spectrum service provider and they advised that I needed to contact the modem company. I know that there’s no issue with my internet because many of my devices are still in use, but my macbook, xboxes and Roku TV which all worked prior to 2 days ago are no longer connecting to the internet. We’ve done factory resets and disconnections and restarts of these devices and nothing works. Can someone suggest what the problem may be.

Have my Arris Surfboard S33v2 (using the 2.5G port) hooked up to my Eero 6+ router via a 1.5ft Cat Ethernet cable with Spectrum as my ISP (only currently available in area but hopefully getting Fidium soon).  I use the other of 2 ports in the Eero for a wired connection to my Xbox.   My question is this: am I able to use the open 1G port in the MODEM to connect via internet to anything?  When I try with TV or Xbox, it says I need to enable DHCP for Xbox, or DNP for TV.  Some things have said call ISP to activate another modem port, called spectrum and they say they can’t do that, they can only activate the coax cable.  Any help or ideas?

I just bought the new modem about a month ago to replace another Arris modem. Several times a day, we lost internet for a couple minutes. Every time we lost internet, it is due to the modem randomly shutting down and rebooting. I am having Xfinity out tomorrow morning to take a look at things. Is there anything I should look out for? Is there anything I can fix? Thanks

My s33 modem lights cycle from white, green than solid amber for two minutes and the cycle repeats. I tried hard resetting the modem but the button seems broken and there is no give or tension. I’ve left the power unplugged for hours but it wouldn’t sync with Xfinity. I got a new modem from Xfinity and that works. I’d like to get a replacement as it’s only 6 months since I bought it

So I was wondering if in some way, without a plus hardver, is there an option to setup the Arris TG3442 to automatically restart periodically?
