S33 | S34

I bought an S34 but it doesn't have a port for my home phone service. What can I do?

I just today bought and then installed my new surfboard S33 cable modem. I used my ISPs activation site (breezeline) to try and activate. It mostly seems to be connected, I get a steady blue light on the modem itself, but I can only connect to my ISPs website. When I use my browser to connect to the modem via 192.168.100.1 it shows as connected and operational. However, whenever I try to access any other site, I'm met with a 'your connection is not private' (I'm on chrome). The specific error is 'net::err_cert_common_name_invalid'. If I try to download Firefox, I'm redirected to my ISPs website.  I have already talked with tech support from breezeline who said everything looks OK on their end and that it may take up to 24 hours for 'signals to synchronize', but it's been about 5 hours since I activated it and the idea of it taking 24 hours seems absurd.  One last thing, I had originally bought a hitron modem and tried to install yesterday an

Hello,      I am experiencing a few minutes of disconnection for at least once and up to 4 times per day now.  I suspect that it is due to my internet service provider is sending a bad configuration file to my modem which causes it to lose connection for a few minutes.  This is because the event log in the modem indicates that there was a bad TLV code in the configuration file.  I am unable to convince WOW to fix this since they are overly eager to replace the S33 with their own no name brand and charge me $10 a month for renting it.  Is there a way to see the configuration file that was sent so the team at ARRIS can suggest a fix?  I’m including the log errors that repeat 4 times a day generally at the same time of day.   Are there any ways to get the WOW technical support to even look at the log files (they have refused so far).  Anyway, any ideas would be appreciated…  By the way I work with RF equipment and the signals are good, low code error rates 40 dB SNR….  The last

We have Xfinity 500 mbps using an s34 and a netgear mr60 mesh system. Rarely get more than 250 mbps

I am pretty certain I know the answer but wanted additional validation. I purchased an Arris S34 because my old Motorola MB8600 was having some issues and figured I might as well go with the latest with improved uploads. Initially the Arris S34 worked great and I was getting upload speeds of 320mbps which was impressive but would then lose connection after 30 minutes and rarely reconnect on a power reset. After dealing with Xfinity offshore level 1 tech hell for several days I had another tech come out to my house who indicated the tap box needed to be replaced. I reconnected my MB8600 and ran the Spectrum Analyzer. It's noisy and uneven. Around 400 MHz and again near 950–1000 MHz. I places an order for a S34 Modem this past weekend, but have not yet received a confirmation email.  Checked spam folder and nothing.  I did receive a “Tell Us What You Think” Review email from Arris, but no order confirmation email Please advise,Thank you

my wireless printer will not connect 

I purchased a SURFboard S33v3 modem a few months ago, but recently it frequently drops connection. I have tried multiple resets without success. My ISP confirmed that the line is fine and the issue is with the modem. After swapping the modem, my internet has been stable, which further confirms the S33 is defective.I would like to request warranty support for the S33. However, when I try to submit the request on the warranty page, it keeps saying that the model does not match the serial number. Could you please assist me with this issue?

I suspect there is an issue with using the 2.5Gb Ethernet port on my Arris S34 modem at an actual 2.5Gb speed, I have repeated extensive testing which I'll summarize here, but I'm happy to go into more detail if needed. My ISP is Xfinity and I have been using the S34 modem without issue, getting around 940Mb downstream and 180Mb upstream via my 1Gb home LAN.  I wanted to upgrade my home network to 2.5Gb (some parts are already 10Gb) so I invested in some 2.5Gb hardware (NIC, switch, new CAT6 cabling, etc.) and while all devices are connected and working as expected at 2.5Gb (verified via iPerf3), I am not able to use the 2.5Gb port on the Arris S34 at the expected speeds. I have tried several different 2.5Gb NICs and they all exhibit the same behavior: S34 1Gb port connected to 1Gb NIC = no issues, 940Mb downstream.S34 2.5Gb port connected to 1Gb NIC = no issues, 940Mb downstream.S34 1Gb port connected to 2.5Gb NIC = no issues,

My S33 seems to have random brain fog.  Sometimes it’s slow to connect and sometimes seems to get hung up though the light stays blue.  I have near gigbit speed when tested..  

Hello,I have a S33v2 modem that’s not working anymore but still has warranty - I checked a few days ago. But now I try to contact customer service and I always get the message “We were unable to locate your serial number. Please check your model number and serial number and try again.” This is very aggravating and I don’t why this is called customer service when apparently several people have issues getting in contact and/or you’re forced to make an account here first to try to get in contact with someone who can help.

Have a S33 about a year old been with Xfintiy and recently switched to astound. Gave astound the MAC address and the modem won't connect. The S33 works with Astound as I have bought a new S33 and works fine but want to get my old S33 working so I'm not spending on a new modem Any idea what's holding the MAC address form connecting 

My modem is going slower than the speeds I paid for (90mbps down and 20 up instead of 1000 down and 40 up). From an AI search it probably needs a firmware update and is not being configured to make use of all the lanes available (my oversimplified version). Spectrum support seems to not know that they are responsible for updating the firmware. I’ve talked to 3-4 people via support and some said it’s not up to them and others said it would be done automatically. Is there anything else I can do on my end? I’m not a normal user and need the speeds for my small business.  

I have a brand new S34 modem and am using Xfinity 1.2 gig service. I have never seen download speeds over ~450 - 500mbps and have asked Xfinity support for help. They tried a few things, but the speeds still remain the same.Of course they said to bypass the router (Asus RT-AX88U) and plug directly into the modem which I did, but then the speeds drop down to ~90mbps both up and down! Going back to the router, they jump back up to ~500mbps. I would expect the exact opposite to happen. I am using Ookla speed test site both times. Can anyone offer some advice?  Thanks! 

I bought SURFboard s33v3 cable modem in June this year (2025). Initially was able to use port 2.5 GE connecting to Google mesh WIFI router and then from the ethernet port on the Google mesh to the 24-ports switch. All my computers and a few devices access internet with ethernet cables. Everything was working as expected for 2 months. One day suddenly internet dropped, I had to power off and power on the cable modem because port 2.5 GE was constantly flashing in yellow color. I have to switch to port 1 GE, it stays with solid green light. BUT everything slowing down now. The internet connecting through ethernet is very slow, 100MBS and takes long time to switch to a new web page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The model I am using is the Arris Surfboard S34. I have both a desktop computer and a WiFi router. I want to connect the router into the 2.5 Gig port and the computer into the 1 Gig port. However, it appears that only one or the other works. If I have the computer plugged into the 1 Gig port, the router does not connect to the internet. If I have the router connected to the 2.5 Gig port, then the computer does not connect. How can I solve the issue so that both can connect? 

I'm replacing my Xfinity modem with an S33. I can get my Deco Tp link wifi to work but ethernet ports from my devices do not see the internet. When I get the ethernet ports to work the deco tp link will not work? Im running my house throught a 24 port patch panel into a 24 port unmanaged netgear switch. However when I go back to the modem from xfinity I can get both to work with no issue.  Any help would be appreciated.  

A few months ago I upgraded my cable modem from a SB6183 to an S34, and soon after I started noticing intermittent dropouts, 3-4 times per day, such as during Google Meet video chats and in my SSH connections to hosts outside my network. I switched back to the SB6183 for a few months to avoid thinking about the problem, and during that time we did not notice the intermittent dropouts. But, the S34 is supposed to be a more fully-featured modem and capable of higher speeds so I switched back trying to make it work, and I’ve resolved to collect data from the modem after such an event happens.Within the last year, I called out a Spectrum tech and got a new drop from the pole outside my house. The drop routes through a single splitter to reduce the power levels slightly and then into the cable modem.The daily intermittent dropouts continue.When these intermittent drops occur, I notice that I’m still able to connect to the web portal on the modem on my network, i.e. 1

My Arris 33 is disconnected a few days ago. I’ve tried a hard reboot. It won’t come back on. There’s nothing wrong with our service provider. We’ve already checked there help 

Try to reset the admin password on this device. I have tried every suggestion there is and nothing works in this company because they have no customer service on the weekends. I’ve had nothing. It’s a piece of shit. 

Today I replaced my Spectrum Modem with a new S34. and had Spectrum activate it. Hooked to my laptop I get an IP and all works well, but hooked to the new Asus ZenWiFi BE5000 I get no IP. Hooked to an old Ubiquity UDM it works perfect so for the moment my client lives with the UDM. Took the ZenWiFi home and plug it in my network and it comes up and works perfectly so I know the router can accept an IP and the Modem can supply an IP, but why can’t the two new boxes work together.  The Spectrum Tech claimed that the modem was not showing that the ZenWiFi was showing as plugged in when I plugged it in. Background, the Spectrum modem had been with fine with a TPLink WIFI 5 modem for a couple of years but apparently also stopped getting IPs yesterday, Which is why we started replacing stuff.
