S33 | S34

I cannot see the new modem on spectrum website. Is an activation from spectrum required?

What can I do to stop my modem from overheating? There’s no dust in it and it’s in an open area. I’ve never had this happen to me before.

I just want to say I have an ARRIS (S33) that I purchased in June 2023. It broke in April 2025, still under warrantyBut I couldn’t find any way to contact you people at Arris  and life moved on and now that Cox has jacked my bill sky high for modem rental I remember that I hadn’t figured out how to contact youo (BECAUSE YOU MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT) and the warranty has expiredThis is not good customer service.

My arris s34 keeps restarting every few minutes I only got it 3 weeks ago please help.

S33 modem 3 months old. I am experienceing packet loss and lag that Xfinity cannot seem to figure out. I’m including a link to pingplotter data that appears to be showing the packet loss to be coming from hop 2. Is this my modem or is it Xfinity equipment? Ping plotter data What started all of this is that I’m getting packet loss and lag errors while inside the iRacing sim. I believe it is on the upload side as I’m not having any issues with seeing the other cars on track however other users are reporting that they are seiing my car blinking or disappearing at times. Also in the modem has the following 2 errors in the event log that I’m not sure what they mean or if they even apply to the packet loss. RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power in Excess of 6 dB Below the Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW;CM-MAC=10:e1:77:95:3

Why does it say my network is not connected to the internet? 

I had an xfinity tech out today to confirm my modem died. It simply doesn't work, although it showcases it’s fine via the light on front. How does one go about getting it repaired?Thanks in advance. Lance

What is the phone number to Arris? The number on their website and will not connect….

My Arris Surfboard S33v3 cable modem started flashing the green light and I am unable to get the WiFi connection now. Checked the IPv4 Address and it starts with 192 … as expected. Checked connections and they appear OK. Installed 3/7/25. Suggestions?

I have an S33 that started failing and is barely a year old. It’s ridiculously hot, especially the coaxial and eventually shuts down. Right before it started turning off it would just cut the internet in and out. I have tried contact support multiple times and the one time I was able to get someone in the chat they told me I would be contacted via email or call. Never got the call. Never got the email. And since it is now the weekend they have no support. I want a refund for this modem. Can any moderators help me get into touch with someone to further this process? I’m really disappointed with this seeing as I used to really like the Arris products. 

Got a brand new S34 from Amazon (sold by Amazon, not some third-party seller), which has now died just over a month after plugging it in, but the website shows “We were unable to locate your serial number. Please check your model number and serial number and try again. This information can be found on the label in back or on the bottom of your device.”, despite copy+pasting the serial from Cox.com/the modem’s admin page.

My S33 modem has a solid light green light, and the back LEDs show green and amber for the 1.0 GE port and nothing for the 2.5 GE port (which is the port I was using). I've tried to connect the ethernet cable and go to 192.168.100.1 but it won't load. Yes, I have unplugged and plugged it back in. Any advice? Still under warranty for another year. Also, makes a high pitch noise.

The title says it all, after a week of back and forth, high-level Optimum tech support is telling me their system cannot activate my brand new Arris S33v3 cable modem. No explanation, no assurances of they’re working on it, just simply I can’t use it to connect to my internet service with them. So sorry, goodbye.   

Hello! My S33 modem just up and quit after about a year. When I rebooted it, solid Amber then blinking green for several times then no light. I’ve tried many times but it’s always the same. No xfinity outages in the area. Any ideas?  

Why is my S34 on Astound (Wave Broadband) displaying as Advanced Stream ISP in the Surfboard app?Also, download speeds are well below my plan speeds and much slower than my old Surfboard SB6190 that I just replaced. 

So I just got a new s33 and I successfully registered it with my ISP provider. Now I am attempting to the device by changing the login from the default settings to personal settings.  When I attempt to enter the default settings as they are in the manual i get an error message saying they are incorrect.  Do I contact the ISP provider first or do I contact Arris for technical support? 

This is the same issue I get trying to register/validate warranty. The cardboard product box shows “S33” while the HTML access into the modem shows “S33v3.” Regardless, the “check your warranty” page does nothing, that is, doesn’t display an error message. The “register your product” page doesn’t have a “S33v3” product but does have “S33.” That combination gives me “The Serial Number and Model Number that you entered do not match.”  The product runs flaming hot (for electronics), connects for a while, then drops the connection. Another “community” post has information about signal levels; perhaps that will make this … product work better. I am glad I spent nearly $200 for this modem!

I tried to self-activate the modem with my ISP. It failed multiple times. I tried to activate the modem with their tech support as failed as well. The modem is on their approved list. Their support looked up the MAC address and no record associated with that MAC address. I also was able to confirm that the MAC address has no record and it is NOT associated with any known manufacturer.I bought the modem from Amazon and it was sold directly by Amazon. 

Trying to activate it online because customer service is closed. But when I put the serial number says, it doesn’t match 

What’s the status on my order?

Yesterday, during a pretty heavy thunderstorm my trust TP-link Archer AX55 suddenly stopped working-it had the one green powerlight, but no other lights after several reboots and hard resets. So I fire up amazon and order a BE3600, figuring I’d get to use the 2.5 gig ports on both the S34 and the BE3600.Strangely, when I connect the cable from the 2.5 port, there is nothing, no lights no connection.  When I connect via the 1 gig port, everything comes to life. Now I had been using the 2.5 port with my old, 1 gig port modem and it seemed to be ok with working with a slower port.  Now, with the 2.5 capable router, , the port just goes dead.  I have done a ton of power cycles-no difference...Now, i’m not at a crazy high tier with Xfinity, so I likely wouldn’t see much of a difference, if any. but I’m curious- is there a setting I’m missing 

I’m trying to register my modem (S34) and my serial number is not recognized, seems like a common occurrence.  When I try and access the link  www.arris.com/consumersupport it redirects to “CommScope”.  Is this normal?  I don’t see any Arris product page there. Whats up with that?

Just activated a new Surfboard S33.  Got the notice to do a one-time network scan using Fing.  Now I’m stuck in the spinning little circles of death as it is supposedly scanning.  How do I stop this?  Nothing else works on the app.  And it was the only option on the app...kind of a dollop to use Bing...whatever that is?
