SBG8300

I currently run a SBG8300, and I wanted to add some more range to my network.  I purchased a combo that come with an A21 and W11.  I tried using the app, but when I go through all the screens to log in after saying I’m already activated, I get an error code of 0000-1612.  Any way I can get around this?I can connect to the modem with a desktop using the 192.168 etc, but I can’t find anywhere to add the A21.  

Yes i am having an issue accessing one certain website. I was able to access it last week no issues, and over the weekend something must have changed because it only gives a ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. I have tried multiple browsers/computers/Ethernet and wifi/flushed dns/releaseandrenew ip.The only time i can get access it from home is then i am on my phones 5g, as soon as i switch over to  my network i can no longer access it. I have called my ISP and they said they can not help because it is not there equipment, and this issue has to be with the Modem and company

is it possible to get a firmware update for this modem?

First of all I can not get the App to work what so ever so I was trying to log into the Web Manager to change network name and password. I am able to connect to the Wi-fi with the default network name and password but want to change it. When I try to log in Web Manager, I use the username: admin and the password that is the default password on the sticker. I also just tried the work password as my password since that is what it says in the little book that came with it. Every time I get invalid login credentials. What am I missing here? 

I installed my sbg8300, and called Mediacom (less than 1gig service). They state that they can see my modem, but I have no internet. All the settings look good on my sbg8300 interface, but I did a factory reset on the modem anyway. I've tried with two different computers connected via ethernet. I still have no internet.

Can I reboot my SBG 8300 modem router combo remotely?

I unplugged my modem and disconnected the coaxial cable and Ethernet cable from my modem.  I plugged my modem back in with the coaxial cable only.  It’s in the same location as before.  Now it keeps dropping the internet.  It’ll be on for 5 min, the no connection, then back on…..I did a reset by unplugging it as well as poking the little hole on the back.  Nothing fixes the problemSusan 

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG8300.  I’ve recently started having issues with it rebooting intermittently.  I was attempitng to gather logs.  I go under Troubleshooting and Logs, but when I query for System or Event logs, it states “There are no logs to display”.  I don’t see where I can check to see if logging is turned on or not.  How do I get logging on my device.  Seems like firewall logs are working just fine.

I have an ARRIS SBG8300. I have an issue where the Ethernet and WiFi both lose internet connection or is slows down to around 2 mbps download speed. The problem is intermittent and started a few months ago. I have had Spectrum out 3 times now and they claim nothing is wrong with my service. I tried swapping out modems and it didn't fix the issue. Today, my I ternet went out but none of my neighbors lost connection. I noticed that the Wifi light was completely out and the internet light was solid green. I had no internet on Ethernet or WiFi though. Does anyone know what the light combination means or have any ideas on how to fix my issue? 

The web admin panel warns “To keep your account password in sync, it is recommended to update it using the SURFboard App rather than changing it here.” How do i change the admin password from the app? I looked absolutely everywhere and the option is nowhere. I changed wifi names and passwords and settings from the web interface, nothing synced to the app, now i’m locked out at the app. The app doesnt let you change the admin password, and the web interface syncs nothing to the app, what do i do?

Good afternoon! I have been trying to get support to my SBG8300 and when I try to chat or call it wants to check warranty but it says the serial number doesn’t match the model. I do have the item on my hand and it does never work. Could somebody please help me getting this fixed?

My Internet connection stopped! Please connect my internet! Help

I recently had a power outage do to an animal getting on the power lines. While all my appliances got power, my modem only had the online light on blue solid and no wifi light. I called my ISP thinking it might need to be re provisioned and they couldn't detect the device. I tried resetting it, restarting it, connecting on different ports and nothing.I cant access the gateway via ethernet. I think it might be fried and need a new one if not please let me know what I can do

My wi-fi stopped working a few days ago and I now see that my Arris modem has been RESET to factory settings out of the blue and I do not have the original password in order to reconfigure it to my settings. 

ive tried too access my user interface but no luck. it says i have an unsupported browser so i downgraded to the minimum it asks for and still no luck. i know my credentials are correct when login but its not letting me login. i havent changed the password infact ive never been able to login at any point. 

SBG8300 been working okay… but noticed the 2.4Ghz SSID might appear, and might not appear.If I reboot the SBG8300 after a while it might appear for a few seconds on SSID list, then go away.If you connect a hardwire and login to admin page you can see that the Broadcast SSID is set to Broadcast. There are SO MANY posts on this exact topic hard to keep track, and the answers are all pretty poor. Answers like do a hard reset on the modem, which I would have to do and reconfigure monthly - not  a good answer. Or the answer to go in and set it to Broadcast. That one came from a NewBie just trying to rack up points. Why are SO MANY SBG8300 failing to broadcast the SSID for the 2Ghz band ? Sounds like a firmware problem to me. And I own this, so it is not monitored or updated by my ISP. Alike others here, my smart home Iot devices all stopped working when this problem started. 

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG8300 and the blue online button is blinking as well as the green WiFi button is also blinking. My WiFi is not working and I’ve unplugged it for 30s and did a factory reset and nothing is working. What should I do?

no internet connection 

I do not currently have my surfboard. Modem router combo connected because it was getting us very slow speeds, but when it was connected, it would show that it was connected from our device to the router modem, but there would be a big x going from the modem to the outside connection. We would still have internet, but it would always be slow.  How do I fix that problem? Thanks much.   Pat

I purchased my SBG8300 March 3, 2025, and it has stopped working. I know it is the modem because the issue I was having is gone now that I have borrowed a different modem. How do I input a warranty claim to get a refund for the modem?

How can I change my password for my log in information?  I can’t seem to remember my password to get into my Arris surfboard account to see my router settings. 

Modem admin still cannot be reached, even on Safari… and it’s now 2025. What is going on?

Is there a secret to clearing / releasing all clients previously connected to my SBG8300?I have performed a factory reset before, however everything previously connected reappears in the connected client list. I want to make sure that I have no Rogue clients connected without my knowledge.Thanks in Advance

Today I called Arris Surfboard Tech Support to inquire about updates for my SBG8300. The agent’s false and totally untrue answer:  “Your Internet Provider provides updates for your Surfboard modem”. Thus insinuating that I am an ignorant buffoon, which I plan to deal with later.Question: How do I receive software updates for my modem?
