How to turn off the router portion on my Arros model number G 34

I recently bought the G36 and have been having issues with receiving my full plan speeds. I have 1gb speeds from xfinity. I would receive 1100+ mbps wired with their modem (xb7) but with the G36 if i get lucky it can pass 700.I contacted xfinity they said all is good on their end. Anyone have any tips to increase the speed if possible. Thanks 

I have a SBG8300 connected to a WC4S router, with (2) satellites on separate levels. The top floor satellite is connected via ethernet to the main WC4S router. Why are devices that are right next to the satellite on the top floor connecting to the main router which is a full two floors below. It is creating a lot of instability in the system and the devices drop connection constantly. Why aren’t the devices connecting to the second satellite normally?On the Surfboard Central app, I cant find out how to determine whether the wired backhaul is active or not. How can I find this information?

To be honest I’m very disappointed so far with my G54, but mainly for one reason, no VPN. (Nothing wrong with speeds/channels/etc.) I want to protect my entire network, but several reviews I have found online say the G54 will not support a VPN (Example, NordVPN, ExpressVPN, etc.), nor do I find an example in the user guide. (which also happens to look like a recycled S33 guide), on how I might set one up.I do see a mention of VPN under IPV4 Maximum Security (see attached image), but have found nothing on how to set one up, if it is even possible. I’m seriously contemplating returning this product if I’m unable to setup a VPN, but I might have missed my return window, and this wasn’t a cheap product. How in 2024 would this not be supported?Will there be a firmware update that enables this feature? I would even pay a onetime fee to have a special firmware. Otherwise I would only suggest others to buy this if they don’t care about establishing a VPN on your router/modem (Gateway) setup.

So I have an Arris Surfboard modem and I've had it for about 3 years and have not had a single issue with it. Over the weekend my internet suddenly cut out and I couldn't figure out why. I had a strong connection and full signal strength on my wifi, however whenever I tried to open an app on my phone/tv/gaming device or browse the internet via my laptop it would say something along the lines that it wasn't connected to the internet or couldn't establish a connection. I assumed it was some kind of issue with my ISP so I was finally able to get a tech to come out and look at it. The only solution they could offer was to give me one of their rental router/modems, which I don't want to do because I have my own equipment. Once they set up the new router/modem my issues were resolved leaving me to suspect there is an issue with the modem? Is the modem the likely issue? Is that the expected lifespan of a modem 3 years? How can I troubleshoot this to find the exact issue and generate a differe

The public ip given to my Linksys mesh router drops and the modem won't give it another one until modem resets are done by me or by Xfinity. One time they needed to reprovision the modem to make it work. Equipment has been replaced but it's still happening.

I have my router mAx W161 bricked. Where can I download firmware for the router?

I don’t see any place to set the time or the time zone for my S33.  Looking at the event log it would appear that the time or time zone is incorrect.

I changed the SSID and now I can’t find my internet😭 please help

Is there a bridge mode that I can activate for the SB6190 cable modem? I’ve accessed some of the configuration ( modem GUI)  but can’t locate bridge settings. Thanks!

Since October of 2023 my download speed would drop to 30 Mbps like every week or month and stay there until I power cycle the modem. I am on a 250 down and 25 up plan with COX. This happens wireless, wired and pc connected directly modem. Service has been working fine since COX ran the line 6 years ago, line goes from outside directly into the modem, no splitters. COX came out looked at the line, did some cleanup at the box and said line is fine and it still happens. I read online that this is indication that modem is going into partial service mode because of bad levels. I have Modem status and logs before and after the power cycle saved in PDF and I can post them here. i just need to figure out if this is the modem or the line.

I don’t for the life of me see this extremely useful button on the routerIs it hidden somewhere?Can someone suggest how to find and or enable or how else to setup a legacy wireless printer. pretty frustrated wtih this.Ray

My S33 modem has a solid light green light, and the back LEDs show green and amber for the 1.0 GE port and nothing for the 2.5 GE port (which is the port I was using). I've tried to connect the ethernet cable and go to 192.168.100.1 but it won't load. Any advice? Still under warranty for another year.

Recently upgraded to the G34(Cox ISP), ever since upgrading my internet speeds have drastically fluctuated. They will be around 500-600Mbps, and then drop and stay around 30Mbps.I experience the speed Issues on my Phone, Work PC and Personal PC.  I’ve speedtested both PCs and both experience the same speed fluctuations. I’ve done the standard troubleshooting of power cycling, and reconnecting all cables. I’ve tried both Wifi and Ethernet connections both experience same speed fluctuations.I’ve spoken with Cox and they don’t see any issues with the signal/service they are sending.Tried checking the Modem settings through the App which is not super useful. I haven’t changed any of the security settings or anything, so they are all stock at this point.Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated 

Hi, I have some issue. For about 15 min I hadn’t internet access from my laptop, I had connection with router via WiFi but no with internet (other devices had normal connection with internet). I checked router `Parental Control > Reports` and in report from today I can seeDevice MAC:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX 5640 attempts 17/05/2024 17:15:01 Device Blocked  Where `XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX` is MAC of my laptop.I have not configured blocking this device in `Parental Control > Managed Devices` settings. Where yet can be configured blocking some devices in router configuration? How to find why it was blocked?

So, in short, my desktop and laptop both think I’m located in Canada, but I’m actually in Pennsylvania. This has become a real pain when it comes to streaming and other websites requiring location info.I’ve tried to eliminate all other possible sources of the problem. I don’t have a VPN, and it doesn’t seem to be a software issue. I’ve spoken to support at Xfinity, Windows, and Google, and none of them can figure out the issue.I think it may be my SBG8300 modem, because I’ve taken my laptop to a relative’s house who has the exact same type of Xfinity internet, and lives only 15 minutes away, and when I connect to their wifi (without changing anything on my laptop), suddenly my location info is correct.I’ve also restored my modem to factory settings and still the issue persists. Any help in figuring this out will be very much appreciated! Thanks

Does the arris or Motorola SBG6580 modem have security issues with win10 & when was firmware last updated.?

Just hooked up the S33 and cant access the web manager through 192.168.100.1If I set a static IP to: 192.168.100.10 and subnet: 255.255.255. 0I will lose internet connection and still cannot connect to the web manager. I have internet access if I let it assign the IP automatically.  Checking the network details it sets thedefault gateway to 75.70.120.1 and subnet to 255.255.252.0 Pressing the reset button on the bottom of the S33 didnt help. Any ideas?
