Wi-Fi Modems

Hello, As many other users I ran into a problem with intermittent packet loss. Arris sent a replacement - both G36 units have loss. 2xXfinity modems + 1x CODA56 - no loss. The issue is clearly with G36. Arris support is trying to blame Xfinity for incorrect signal levels and Xfinity is reasonably responding that their signal levels are good for other modems so Arris needs to fix it - and it doesn’t. So what can be done?Can I return that G36? Or can Arris fix that problem from their side? Thanks!

WiFi says it is connected but it’s not working. Tried to connect the TV to the WiFi and says not able to connect to server. How do I fix this? 

Howdy everyone! Just replaced my providers Arris with this G34 (SBG00DAY34). I currently have Optimum service formally known as (suddenlink). I pay for the 500 Mbps Service, and with their modem everything was perfect! I always had at least no lower than a 450 Mbps download speed, I would even see 600 sometimes on wired connections. Now on this G34 all of my ethernet ports show a -200 dBm. I have three ethernet cords plugged in. They go to my TV, Xbox series X and desktop. The dBm levels on the WiFi are normal and the connection is perfect on both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. But again, the speeds are hardly acceptable. If I wasn’t paying for speeds I wasn't receiving I wouldn't mind. Everything seems to work okay which is strange to me, and the ping is low.  I can't figure out for the life of me what is causing the issue with the ethernet ports. I bought an SBG8300 gateway a couple months ago, replacing an Xfinity rented gateway. Since then, I’ve had an issue where connecting my laptop to the wifi will cause the network to crash within about 30 seconds, sometimes faster. I have one desktop PC connected via ethernet, my phone is sometimes but not always connected and does not cause the crash, and there is a wifi printer which seems to have connection problems in general (I believe it may crash the network too, but it is hard to tell, since it disconnects at random - I believe this is an issue with the printer). My network is 400 mbps with Xfinity, and I had no issues while using their (rental) gateway. The laptop, a Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge which came out very recently and is new, will cause this crash consistently. I have a 800 mbps service from xfinity. I get roughly 500 mbps wired and less that 100 mbps wireless.  I’m sitting 5 feet from the router unobstructed.  Doesn’t matter if it’s on the 2.4 or 5 channels. what are your thoughts? Thanks! 

WHY won’t my G34 connect to wifi

I have an unknown device showing on my surfboard app.   I've been throughout my home and can't find any other devices I haven't named in my surfboard.  I want to remove or block access to this device but I don't know how to do either of those things on my android phone app.  Can you please tell me how I'd go about blocking or deleting this device from my system? I have my 2 printersMy NEST  ThermostatSon's Play StationFirestickVIZIO TV and all other things that were connected to network on itROKU TV3 EVO FORCE1 boxes for televisionsMy phoneSon's phoneSon's laptopMy laptop Been through the house, no idea what this last thing could be.   Unplugged Alexa,  but apparently that is Bluetooth.  

I own my sbg8300 modem-router and use Mediacom. Recently it stopped working and I couldn't connect to the admin page, so I hardcoded my computer IP settings, connected to the router, and found that the ipv4 settings were all wrong. I reset them and the router worked for two weeks. Today they are messed up again and it won't save my changes. Right now the gateway is set to 120.74.103.183 and the subnet is 0.208.94.67. These are wrong, right? Is my firmware corrupted? How do I fix it?

Green globe is on, but no communication to modem. Even with wired connection. 

I’ve had an air surfboard mesh system for years.  I have 3 -W31 units. One is the router and the other 2 are satellites to extend signal. I have SB8200 modem. Looking to upgrade but curious if I can still use the W31s as satellites if I upgrade to G54. If so, is there a limit to the number of satellites I can connect? thx,cable

I have an Arris Surfboard SBG8300 where the password for the 2.4GHz network isn’t working with new devices. I can connect to the modem/router and the password for the 2.4GHz network is correct in the Admin portal. Devices that have been connected to this network are working fine, but when I try to connect a new device (Echo Dot) to the network, I get an invalid password error. I’ve verified the password in the admin panel is correct and I’ve entered the password several times into the Alexa app that connects the Echo Dot, but I still get the password error. I have many devices using the 2.4GHz network, and they are all working fine. The error only happens when I try connecting new devices.This doesn’t happen only on Amazon products. I only have this error on new devices that are limited to a 2.4GHz network. My only workaround is to use the 5GHz network. It’s using the same password as the 2.4GHz network, and I am 100% certain that I am

New g34 has WiFi but no internet i double checked with my isp and modem is connected to them i tried resetting multiple times light is steady blue

I have bought a new Arris modem - do I need to do anything to remove any personal information on file?

I have xfinity cable TV service and I can’t get the Cable boxes to work with the G34. I get the RDK-10000 error message. Do I need to change a setting?

Is it possible to completely disable the WiFi radios on the G54?I didn’t even think this was a question needing to be asked, until I got a competitor’s product today, and it’s impossible to turn off the radio. (Verified with tech support.) So that’s being returned.The G54 is my next choice, I’ve read the manual, and that doesn’t say that you can. That does say you can turn off the 2.4GHz radio in section 4 of configuring your WiFi. It even has a picture of the screen with a big button to turn the radio off. The sections on 5 and 6 GHz don’t have a picture, and say to repeat steps 5 on (so no step 4).There are several other threads here, which are unclear on this, and show various disable buttons on various screens. Or you have to go into bridge mode.So with the latest firmware, can you turn off all radios on the G54, which still being a router? 

I bought a new g34 and my isp says I need to contact the manufacturer to have my modem provisioned but I can’t find where to get ahold of the manufacturer 

Don’t know how to setup the router…

The 5g network for data switches to 4g once inside my house. 5g works outside and in other buildings. It stays 4g even with the wireless connection turned off.

I have an TP link Archer 5400 someone gave me would like to bridge it to the G54 using the G54 as main router is this possible? Or would I only be able to use G54  in Bridge mode? I’s really prefer to use the G54 as main router leaving the Wi-Fi on? I am able to put the Archer 5400 in Access mode and connect to the G54 but only with Ethernet cable can I do this wirelessly?

Not all four 1 gbps ports are putting out 1000 mbps. Getting the following connection strength.Port 2: 1000 mbps down and upPort 3: 1000 mbps down and upPort 4: 100 mbps down and upPort 5: 10 mbps down and up (Does not work properly)Is this normal?

I need to connect a ROUTER BOOSTER to my modem and it tells me just to press the WPS button to do so. Well I don't have a WPS button on my router so I'm wondering if anybody can tell me where it is please?  I need the booster because my security cameras outside aren't getting a good signal.

I am trying to connect Arris Surf board SBG10 and I got the error 0000-1634?? 

I connected my eufy doorbell camera with chime, everything works well except the liveview. I can view recorded videos but cannot do a liveview. I followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested by eufy tech support and followed the recommendation on here to change the security with no success. Any other ideas?

I bought a new G36.  My TV is connected to it using a CAT5 Ethernet cable.  I can not cast to the television from other devices on WiFi.  I can't cast from a device on WiFi to a device connected via ethernet.  Phone, tablet, desktop, none of them find my TV to cast to if it is connected using erhernet.  If I unplug the eithernet cable, connect my TV to WiFi, I can then find the TV and connect.  This wasn't an issue with my previous Arris surfboard.  I can not find a setting that helps.  UPnP is enabled.  I also tried changing the firewall setting from medium to low.  That did not work either. How can I fix this?   It's not just my TV either.  My cable/TiVo device also has Android TV, it is also connected via Ethernet, and it is not available to connect to either.
