Hi , I just returned my Xfinity Arris modem and got a SurfBoard S33. I have LinkSys mesh routers in both the cases that work OK I have noticed early morning the Wifi connection does not work and Internet starts to works about 5 mins after connecting. Can you pls suggest an fix for this ? Is there any upgrade that needs to be done as I bought this SurfBoard from Amazon ?? Thanks in advance

Not sure if this is an isp issue, a modem issue, or an issue w my signal levels. im sure my isp - optimum - will blame me for not using their equipment,it seems like its could be an issue w my cable modem? Ive seen about 4-6 posts with seemingly similar issues. I also have the issue where you can not access the modem gui management page. i’ve been at the same location for 7yrs, had optimum residential cable, business cable, and now switched back to residential service for better price and 1gig service. This issue is new since replacing my old docsis 3.0 sb cable modem + router to the sb8200 + 2 different routers that both have the same issue. equipment is this - sb8200 -> router/firewall → switch → ap/ethernet. at least once a day my router loses the internet connection for about 10m. all the lights on the modem indicate that it is connected as normal. I purchased the “Arris Surfboard S33” router today to replace my old Lynksys router. I have upgraded my internet speed to 1GB. I got the S33 activated by Xfinity and followed the procedure for registering the product as the instructions listed. After verifying that the modem was converting the cable signal to an internet signal, I attempted to connect my EA8500 router...1st on the 2.5G port then the 1G port. In either situation the light on the EA8500 continues to flash and no “new” network is seen. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated as to how to troubleshoot this problem. Thank you

I just updated from an old SB6121 to an SB8200. The internet is way slower from before. I checked the status page and it looks like all my power ratings are out of the norms. Any way I can correct this?

hi i have an arris modem and need to change password how is that done

I came home from being out for a couple of days and my Arris S33 modem appeared in an error state. No internet connection on any of my devices. The front LED turns a solid amber for 20 seconds, then flashes white, then turns off for 2 seconds before repeating that cycle. Tried hard resets and checking cables; also tried troubleshooting with Cox, but the modem just remains in whatever state it’s in. Modem is not responding to input from the reset button, either. I’m not sure what to do as I haven’t seen any posts with a similar issue to this. I received the modem as a hand-me-down and have only had it plugged in for less than a month (and it’s worked fine until now).

First Ethernet cable worked to hardwire a desktop- internet was fast and reliable. Then connected wireless router to second Ethernet port- Wi-Fi internet is now good, but the desktop that was hardwired does not have an internet connection.

This is the first time I’m using Arris products and I love them! is there anything more under the hood other than going through the app?

had a zfinity technician rule out the splitter, coax cable, and ethernet cable a possible cause, down to being the modem itself causing the problem. what could be the reason for this failure. also i am hard wired to it (no router in between). could it be a hardware failure on the inside of the pcb board? if so which component that i may de sauder and re sauder.

can I port forward with a sb8200 router? if so how?

Just bought a brand new sb8200. Came with 2 Ethernet ports but when I try to use both only 1 works??

I recently upgrade my xifnity plan to 2Gig with the Xfi router, it was 1900mbps for downloading and 45mbps for uploading. I replaced the Xfi Gateway with the newest S33V2 surfboard and the speed drops to only 700mbps with direct internet connection and 5mbps for uploading. I have a tech from xfinity do the test, the Xfi Gateway can run full of 2000mbps but the S33V2 cannot. The tech suggested me to contact the Arris customer suport for a solution. He thought there might be a issue with the Arris cable modem since the speed is only 700mbps. Best

My provider Mediacom has provisioned my new SB8200 but it has only the 1 blue download light lit, shouldnt all lights be on?? Also I can not connect to my netgear gigabit switch …..

I cannot log into my S33 for the first time. Using admin for the user name and password for the password. Even tried using the last eight digits of the serial number. Thanks in advance.

I just purchased this modem yesterday. What is the maximum number of characters when changing the default password for the Arris Web Manager website to something unique? I successfully changed this to a 16 character password (documented in Last Pass) and the website confirmed my new password as having been applied. When I now try to login with my new password, I can only enter the first 15 characters in the field and thus cannot login. What gives? If the 16th character was silently ignored during new password creation, then the first 15 characters should suffice but it’s a no go with just the first 15.

I am trying to connect my T-mobile cell spot and it says I need to open Ports 500, 123 & 4500. How do i do this? I have the Arris SB8200.

I have Xfinity Internet with mobile. S33 Modem with Asus ZenWiFi AX6600 mesh routers (3 ea). I think around the time I installed this setup from the Xfinity modem/router setup, I lost the ability to send and receive text messages with pictures via SMS. Don’t know how to find that ability to correct that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Our Internet speed of 200 Mbps has been dropping recently even after virtual resets by Internet provider and physical resetting modem and router by me. Internet is now routinely popping up and stating "Unstable Connection". Everything looks fine according to our internet provider, so not sure what is causing the drops in service. Could this be my modem? It's at least nine years old, but I'm not sure how to problem solve possible modem issues. My Netgear Nighthawk router is virtually new and similar ratings as the last one that died on me not long ago.

my printer cannot connect to the internet its configured to my pc properly but i just realized that my arris router has run out of warranty on dec.17,2024 could this be my problem

My SB6183 dropped offline in the middle of the workday today. Xfinity says my signal is strong but the modem is offline. I’ve rebooted it several times, and they tried to from their end. Anything I can do to get this back online? Thanks

My provider uses Xfinity and they say that the modem has issues on their end they say it is connecting and then drops it over and over...the modem is pretty much brand new...I refuse to believe it is unable to push the small town providers 1 gig speeds I know it's not the WiFi router cuz Ethernet from modem straight to my laptop is still not connecting...anyone know what my issue may be? And yes it's been provisioned to the provider this issue just started tonight

How can i enable Bridge Mode on my SB8200 on my PC and not my phone? I do not have access to wifi at the moment and the mobile app has no way to connect to the modem My issue is that my router is not getting internet from my modem - but ive confirmed that the modem is getting internet, as I am hardwired to it and connected to my ISP, Cox

I have sb8200 with COX in Phoenix, and I have exactly same thing happening, started about 2 month ago and it would drop to 30 mbps every week or so, cox came out checked the line and said it was good.

Was working for a few weeks, then started to have trouble connecting and makes a high pitch swuealing noise before connecting. Yesterday it took about 30 minutes to connect after power outage. Today we rearranged and unplugged it for a while. Now it wont connect at all. The light is solid amber except every 8 seconds it turns green for one second then back to amber. The whine is constant.

I’ve lost internet at my home and working with my cox provider we did a hard reset on our arris touchstone cm8200. They needed the network password and network id that should have been on the modem but it is not. How do i find that information?
