Modems

I placed an order for an S33 two weeks ago and have not received it.  I have tried calling technical support several times, because there is no sales support line, but they have no clue how to help.  I just want to cancel the order at this point.  

how do i change the internet name on my S33

I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for an order for the Surfboard S33, but it looks like it’s still Awaiting Shipment. Since I don’t know when this will ship, I want to cancel my order and find a different vendor.Order #59549

May seem like an odd question.  The SB8200 lists a dl speed of 1gb. Mine is about 3 years old and I just updated my service from 500mb - 1gb, but I am not seeing any higher speed. The max I see is in the 500mb area and thats the speed test directly through my router. I have tried to plug my laptop directly to the modem but I never get an internet connection for some reason that way.Thanks

Turn ot off about every 10 days to reset. Won't accept new update so constantly knocks me off the internet. 

I have Xfinity.   Their channels work fine.  But streaming from other providers sometimes have problems.  I note that Hulu which I just got, would drop out 3 times in a half hour.  Video would just drop to whatever cable programming was on at the time.  Also happens, let frequently on Netflix.  Sometimes it just freezes (looks like it’s buffering) and sometimes it freezes before dropping out and sometimes it just drops out.  Called Xfinity and they said modems have end of life of 2-3 years.  Bought mine in 2021.  Suggested I buy a new one.  I’m guessing they just say that every time they don’t know.  I’ve changed their cable box and nothing changed.  I note that people send in logs and get advice.  Can someone tell me how to obtain the necessary logs to post online?  My mesh network is Eero.

I’m trying to add a new Arris Surfboard Cable Modem, but when I tap to add device on the app, it only gives me the options Surfboard Max or Gaming Bridge or Network upgrade kit. I need to add Surfboard Modem, but it doesn’t come up as one of the choices.    

I bought an Arris modem, model SB8200 on Sept 26, 2023 from Best Buy. The unit quit working last Friday. A tech with Cox comm came out and verified the modem is bad.  Best Buy advised me to contact you.

I understand that the SB6190 cannot have bridged mode enabled or disabled? Does this mean that the modem operates in bridge mode? That is, in essence, bridge mode always on?

Hi,I would like to pair again 2 VAP2404 devices independantly from my Internet Box. Is it possible ?Those 2 units were originally paired out of the factory.Suddenly, for an unknown reason, there were no Wifi signal coming out of the Access Point one.I decided to reset the 2 units to factory settings using the Reset button.Then I tried to pair them again using the WPS buttons.Is that right ?Apparently it does not work.What can I do ?Many thanks for some help  

   on my  ARRIS SB6183  cable modem    i have a internet conection but no power icon and no online icon don't light up the receive icon and the send icon are blue yes i can surf the internet

Have a wireless router (Eero) connected to port 1 on SB8200. Works fine. But when I try to connect my laptop (or an unmanaged switch) to port 2, it doesn’t work.I’ve read all of the stuff about how your “ISP only provides you with one IP, blah, blah”. But I called Xfinity and they said anytime you plug something into the modem it automatically assigns it an IP, and everything should be working. The Eero wireless router has a second port, and if I plug my switch into that, everything works fine (AppleTV, laptop, etc.) The obvious response is, “then why don’t you just do that?” and the answer is because I don’t want to use wifi when I don’t have to. I have that router on a timer set to shut off when I sleep, and I want to keep it that way.

Bought the SB8200 3 months ago, but didn’t actually provision it with Xfinity until 2 weeks ago.  I only have 13 devices needing Internet access through my router.  A few days ago, all my devices would drop their Internet connection for a min or two, then it would restore connectivity.  However, after this last instance of dropped connectivity, service never restored.  Xfinity can see the modem and can restart the modem remotely, but router never sees the connection to the modem.  After trying with a spare router and getting the same results, nothing left to conclude except the SB8200 is not passing the IP address from Xfinity to the router OR the WAN port on the SB8200 has completely failed.  I bought a new router (not a Arris modem!), provisioned the new modem with Xfinity, and voilà, the router is now working perfectly with my new modem and all my devices are reconnected to the Internet.  Looks like I wasted my $s in purchasing the SB8200.

So, I’m trying to connect my ARRIS surfboard SB6183 to my PlayStation and I plugged in the Ethernet and I tried to connect to the Wired LAN but it won’t work and I don’t know what to do.

So I have an Arris Surfboard modem and I've had it for about 3 years and have not had a single issue with it. Over the weekend my internet suddenly cut out and I couldn't figure out why. I had a strong connection and full signal strength on my wifi, however whenever I tried to open an app on my phone/tv/gaming device or browse the internet via my laptop it would say something along the lines that it wasn't connected to the internet or couldn't establish a connection. I assumed it was some kind of issue with my ISP so I was finally able to get a tech to come out and look at it. The only solution they could offer was to give me one of their rental router/modems, which I don't want to do because I have my own equipment. Once they set up the new router/modem my issues were resolved leaving me to suspect there is an issue with the modem? Is the modem the likely issue? Is that the expected lifespan of a modem 3 years? How can I troubleshoot this to find the exa

The public ip given to my Linksys mesh router drops and the modem won't give it another one until modem resets are done by me or by Xfinity. One time they needed to reprovision the modem to make it work. Equipment has been replaced but it's still happening.

I don’t see any place to set the time or the time zone for my S33.  Looking at the event log it would appear that the time or time zone is incorrect.

Is there a bridge mode that I can activate for the SB6190 cable modem? I’ve accessed some of the configuration ( modem GUI)  but can’t locate bridge settings. Thanks!

Since October of 2023 my download speed would drop to 30 Mbps like every week or month and stay there until I power cycle the modem. I am on a 250 down and 25 up plan with COX. This happens wireless, wired and pc connected directly modem. Service has been working fine since COX ran the line 6 years ago, line goes from outside directly into the modem, no splitters. COX came out looked at the line, did some cleanup at the box and said line is fine and it still happens. I read online that this is indication that modem is going into partial service mode because of bad levels. I have Modem status and logs before and after the power cycle saved in PDF and I can post them here. i just need to figure out if this is the modem or the line.

My S33 modem has a solid light green light, and the back LEDs show green and amber for the 1.0 GE port and nothing for the 2.5 GE port (which is the port I was using). I've tried to connect the ethernet cable and go to 192.168.100.1 but it won't load. Any advice? Still under warranty for another year.

Getting nothing but a solid white light. I've tried restarting, changing ports from 2.5 to 1.0, and Factory reset. Nothing works.Tried calling support to get a warranty replacement but the operator was not helpful. 

Just hooked up the S33 and cant access the web manager through 192.168.100.1If I set a static IP to: 192.168.100.10 and subnet: 255.255.255. 0I will lose internet connection and still cannot connect to the web manager. I have internet access if I let it assign the IP automatically.  Checking the network details it sets thedefault gateway to 75.70.120.1 and subnet to 255.255.252.0 Pressing the reset button on the bottom of the S33 didnt help. Any ideas?

Trying to activate my modem to work with Brightspeed internet. Need help.
