Hello all! I am new here and am hoping someone might be able to give me some info / guidance / help or whatever to get me in the right direction. It has been many years since I have been on a coax ISP but my new place I just moved into doesn’t have a fiber option so I had to go with it. Like I typically do I picked up my own modem so that I wouldnt have to rent one from the provider. After “some” research I went with the Arris S33 because I already had a great wifi router mesh system and it was on the providers approved list for Docsis 3.1 (1.2 GB Service Connection). For the first month or so everything seemed to work great but lately over the last couple weeks I have been experiencing random device disconnects which sometimes would be full network disconnects. I have been going through the ISP and my router’s support I am starting to think it might be the modem. Since it was brand new and nothing you can confi9gure on it I didnt think it could be the issue but I have been pulling

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT TO MY HOME NETWORK AWAY FROM HOME?WHAT IS THE APPROXIMATE DISTANCE OF CONNECTIVITY OF NOT?

My problem is that I purchased a SB8200 by mistake on 5/8/24 couldn't stop the purchase in time so I purchased the right one the SVG2482AC on 5/10/24 I received the 8200 today 5/15/24 can I return the 8200 for a refund I haven't received the other one yet.

why is my arris s33 cable modem state my service provider is Xfinity instead of Astound?

Hello,I have just purchased a an Arris S33 to use with my ISP (Cox) and my Google Nest Wifi (router).If I power up the modem and the router at the same time (like after a power outage), the router will not get an IPv4 address, but only an IPv6 address.If I unplug and plug back in the router into the modem, then it will get an IPv4 address.If I disable IPv6 in the router, then the problem does not happen.If I use my older modem (Cisco DPC3010), then the problem does not happen.Cox support believes the problem is with the Arris router because it does not happen with the older modem (and everything else being the same).Thanks,Ludovico

I recently purchased a SB8200 modem. upgrading from a SB6183. I live in a very poor cell reception area. Without Wi-Fi calling I would be in trouble. Hence my problem trying to activate the new modem when I need to disconnect the old one, no service then. My original modem I think I had to activate from my previous address then bring here, can’t do that now. any suggestions?

Hello, My ARRIS S33 modem stopped working unexpectedly (solid amber light then light green light and high pitched noise). I purchased a similar modem and tested its power cord on my modem and it worked perfectly with the new cord, so the original power cord was faulty. Since my modem is still under warranty, I want to request a replacement power cord free of charge. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

I am trying to set up my Ring Doorbells and it needs to access the 2.4GHz. I can only access the 5G. 

How can i check which devices are using my modem and how much internet data each device is using?i used to work from home till Dec of 2023, and now that i don’t anymore, i figured my data usage will drop, but it’s doubled since Jan of 2024. My ISP (Comcast/Xfinity) are unable to give me the info because I’ don’t have one of their Modems, and Surfboard couldn’t help because my warranty expired a yr ago. Side note: I have a suspicion that it’s because my roommate has been on Discord ALOT lately, but I don't want to stir that pot till i know for sure.

Hello community members ,I recently purchased a refurbished Arris S33 v2 for my 1g connection from Optimum.And I am getting random internet cuts for like 1 minutes and comes online again on its own.I have a Mikrotik router behind S33 modem.when modem goes offline I can clearly see the public ip on wan interface gone and replaced with 192.168.100.10. I am having trouble activating my SB2800 modem. I downloaded the Surfboard app as suggested but once I opened the app, it said it only applied to certain products. The system seemed to allow you to search for another product but I never got the product list. So I am stuck.  Is it better to just go through my internet provider?

I purchased a new SB8200 (and TP-Link router) to replace a COX Panoramic combo modem/router that I was renting.  I have one problem:  the SB8200 will not reconnect when power cycled.   Specifically, unplugged, then plugged back in.  The send and receive lights will go solid green, but the online light just blinks.   Eventually (minutes), the modem appears to restart and the lights cycle through startup phases, resulting in the same status described above.   It seems like the modem will do this forever (I give up after 30 minutes).   Using the management webpage, it appears each reset cycle is using an different set of channels to attempt the connection.I only way I’ve discovered to get the SB8200 to connect is to leave it unpowered for several minutes (like 10), then plug it in.   Only then will it successfully establish a connection.I’ve validated that all signals levels are good (per the SB8200: CABLE SIGNAL LEVELS FAQ).   I’ve had COX at my house, and they’ve

I purchased an SB8200 to connect to Optimum after having them scan the MAC address at their local office the modem will not connect.  The power light is green downstream and upstream lights stay solid greed and internet light flashes green.    This stays this way for several minutes then the internet turns solid green for maybe 5 seconds then all lights except power go out and the process repeats.  I have had them reflash the service, confirmed the MAC address and even changed my service coax cable.    I had this issue about 1-2 years ago when I upgraded a modem at another location and after much ado it was resolved but I don’t remember how it was resolved.  I really feel this is an optimum side issue but any advice would be appreciated.  

I'm getting less than 100 mbps on my devices. I'm paying for 500 mbps. My cable company says it's my Arris that is slowing my speed. How can I fix this??

Trying to factory reset our SB6183. Connected it to my laptop with a ethernet cable using a docking station (laptop not connected to the internet). After agreeing to and clicking “Do you want to proceed?”, what is supposed to happen? It redirects me to a web page that just states there’s no connection.

When I used to do a Speedtest that used to record the speeds. It worked all of March all of a sudden it stopped working. What is the issue? What should I do?

How can I log into my SurfBoard modem

Hello,I have been having internet issues for a couple weeks, it will randomly drop for less than a couple minutes and come back, there is zero consistency on when it happens. Just enough time to get kicked from a game, for my phone to reject the wifi, etc. Cox is basically no help and just tells me to buy a new modem with zero reasoning as to why, they just want my to buy their hardware and I refuse. Internet says connected with no internet. Internet provider says its the modem. 

If DECO router is connected to Ethernet port 1, will port 2 be ok to connect to my WD external drive?

When signing into the web manager tool for my SB8200 cable modem, it responds to both 192.168.111.1 and 192.168.0.1. This causes a problem for me in that a router in my network can only be managed using 192.168.0.1 and when that is entered, it only goes to the Arris login screen. I cannot get to the router no matter how I’ve tried.Can I, as an end user, somehow delete the 192.168.0.1 IP address from my SB8200?

I have to remove four Systimax 2.0 jacks from a patch panel.  These jacks click in easilu, but I cannot remove them to save my life.  I’ve tried a small screwdriver on all sides of the jacks, but they will not come out.I’m on a time crunch with this project, and I need to remove the jacks by Thursday.  If there’s a tool I need to order, I’ll need to do it today.Thanks!
