Recently found out that Arris S34 is getting released and it will be supported for the Next Gen Upload Speeds (100 MBps/ 200 MBps). Source.Arris S34 is now listed on Amazon for pre-order.But, both Arris S34 and Arris SB8200 use the same chipset BCM3390 (source: the listing page on Amazon for each modem). Can anyone explain why one is supported and the other isn't? Technically, the firmware shouldn't be an issue at this pt. I am genuinely curious.

I bouight my S33v2 11/1/2024 on Amazon. In my previous house my xfinity connection seemed to be getting worse over time, and after moving into my new house (6/17/2024) I can barely hold a connection. My modem is connected to an OpnSense router, so I have graphs of packet loss on WAN and they are up to 100% loss on a daily basis.Xfinity techs have been out twice, first to lay a new cable to house, then to replace all internal house wiring to the modem. The signal is great, I thought it would be fixed when they were here yesterday, but packet loss is worse than ever. I even replaced the cat6 cable between modem and router.How do we get an S33v2 replaced under warranty?

Hi,I’ve read the thread with similar title and tried password as well as last 8 digits of S/N, “password” and last 8 digits, caps on Admin and Password and nothing allows me to login.  Just picked up the unit today.  It’s a v2 version if that helps. Thanks!

Hello, I recently got an SB8200 and a Flint 2 router to replace my Xfi gateway. The setup went well and I followed the manual and activated the modem with Xfinity. I went to go run a speed test and the download was 700 mbps, but upload was only 5.9 mbps at most (I have a 500/100 plan). It would never exceed 5.9 mbps, besides when I first run the test, it goes to around 7 but then rapidly drops back to 5.9 mbps. I’ve spent the entire day trying to fix this and I’m completely out of ideas. I tried contacting Xfinity support to see if they are limiting it somehow but their support was just trying to sell me their products for 40 minutes straight. I contacted Arris support and they told me to try to reprovision my modem, which I did, but it didn’t make a difference in my upload speeds. I’m completely out of ideas and I would really appreciate any help or any ideas, thanks in advance.

I'm following the instructions to setup an SB8200 modem, but can't connect to the Internet. The Xfinity app has successfully connected to the modem and says it's providing Internet, but when the Internet light on the modem isn't on. When resetting, the lights turn green as they cycle through, but as soon as it finishes the Internet stage, they turn off and only the Receiving light stays on (but turns blue). Why isn't the modem connecting to the Internet?

Hey all, my ISP had a several day outage after Hurricane Beryl impacted Texas. My ISP swears there is not an outage in my area anymore but my modem, despite several reboots/power cycles etc will not move past the blinking download light stage of initialization. As far as I can tell there is no issue with the coax connection into the house (but may be?) or with the coax connection to the little ground node thing.  I have a service appointment set up for the end of the week (I won’t be home so the internet being out for a few days while annoying isn’t the end of the world) but my urge to fix things has me trying to figure this out.  could my modem be shot?

My router/modem is not powering on. I'm not getting any lights at all.

I have just installed the S33 Modem with Xfinity.  I can directly connect to the internet via a wired connection to the modem.The modem, however is not providing a connection to the router.  I have tried several cables.  The router status is telling me that the ISP’s DHCP is not functioning properly.  Xfinity is telling me there is nothing they need to do, but the issue is between the modem and the router.Are there specific DHCP settings that need to be set up either on the modem or the router?  The Asus Router I am using is the GT-AX110000.

occasionally, my cable modem drops me from the ISP.  It generally occurs when I am watching TV.  I reset the modem and fifteen minutes later I get dropped again.  I can continue by again resetting the cable modem.  I am usually watching a movie on a streaming channel or You Tube

After just over a year without issue, I noticed my S33 has started making some high pitch noise after a reboot for the past few weeks.  I checked that it wasn't overheating, and I was still getting nominal performance, and the noise would go away shortly after it connected.However, after noticing much slower data rates today than normal (less than 1/10 my typical rate), I did a reboot of the modem tonight.Now, it won't connect at all to xfinity.  It will flash a single green led then go solid amber for about 10 seconds and repeat with a lot of high pitch noise.  Verified coax and ethernet cables are good.Prior to reboot checked through xfinity that it was connected and no outages.  Verified after attempted reboot via removing power for 30 seconds to the modem that xfinity isn't seeing the modem and no outages in my area.  Have now re-attempted to reboot multiple times with the same result.I finally decided to pull out my old SB6190, figuring I would have

My S33v2 Modem is dead, I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps and the cable company came out and confirmed that it was not work.Please send me a new one.

SB8200 with Xfinity not connecting. Says no IP address

I replaced a Netgear cable modem, I have a S33v2 and using the 2.5 GE eathernet port it is connected to an Azus GT-AX11000.  However the ethernet port is blinking yellow, my connected devices via the Asus can get 700+ Mbps, so it seems like it working fine.  But per the manual I would have expect the ethernet port to blink green indicating a 1 GE connection.   A bit confused. thanks in advnace David

I have a separate property with multiple devices (security cameras, irrigation, thermostat) hooked up to my home network via wifi, and my current router just died. I am looking at purchasing a new Arris router and having a neighbor plug it in. However, for my devices to automatically reconnect to my wifi signal, I will need to change the Arris factory SSID name and password to match my current network credentials. I know how to do this when I am connected via the same network using the generic IP address for all routers, but I clearly am not going to be onsite to access my new router that way. I read that the Arris Surfboard app will allow a device to be linked to the app by manually entering its SSID and wifi passcode. So will my Surfboard router come with a UNIQUE SSID (not generic 192.168.0.1 or similar) and passcode that I can manually enter into the app accessed via a DIFFERENT wifi network to enable me to access my router to them change its network credentials REMOTELY? I know it's an old modem, but it's been working flawlessly for years… until a couple of weeks ago where, sometimes, it keeps dropping connection. Trying to restart it doesn't fix anything.Anything I should look at? When talking to my cable company is there any question I should ask?

I'm not sure how to ask this question - hopefully someone will understand. One time I was speaking to tech support and I think they had me type my IP address into my web browser search bar and it took me to an Arris page where I could make changes for my modem/router. Now I can't do that or I can't remember how they had me do it. How do I access that page (account page?) again?
