SB 6190 intermittent internet connection while connecting with SONOS or viewing videos on youtube

I am currently using a 3 yr old SB6190 modem with AC1300 Linksys mesh routers(3). Over the last 8 months, I’ve been experiencing intermittent internet loss lasting from 15 sec to 5 minutes. These occurrences are most notable when streaming music through SONOS or viewing videos on YouTube, and also while on the internet using my iPhone. The modem is DOCSIS 3.0. I talked to xFinity and all is good on their end(according to them). After investigating, I understand that the problem MAY lie in the fact that xFinity has switched to DOCSIS 3.1. Would the switch cause constant internet interruptions? I’m trying to understand whether it’s the modem or the routers that are causing these issues.

SB6183 vs SB8200

I currently have WOW service and need a new modem. My current plan is 200 download and 10 upload. I can get an SB6183 sealed unit (black - maybe this is older?) for $20. I have a Black Friday deal on the SB8200 for $98. Is the SB8200 worth the difference since I’m limited by my plan speed anyway. I do tend to keep my modems for some time. I had my last modem for 9 years. I’d like to hear opinions. Thanks.

Trying to activate the modem SB6190

Switching internet account from previous owner of property to mine with the same modem but internet provider (comcast) cannot activate my new account remotely, although the internet data shows normal on from their end.

Modem Drops Internet Connection - SB6190

My SB6190 has intermittent drops throughout the day. I just bought/activated it 3-days ago. My service provider is Spectrum. I work from home and cannot have this happen so frequently. Please help.

Newer model of same exact modem in SB6190

I went to upgrade my modem and bought a brand new Arris Surfbord DOCSIS SB 6190 to replace my old modem only to discover when I got home that I had bought the exact one again-same exact product with same model number. I know this is a dumb question but am I to assume that because what I just bought at Walmart is new that it’s components inside WILL in fact be an upgrade since it’s a new one? I mean when you replace a modem you want the latest technology and components.

No internet in SB6183

Xfinity internet did some recent updates to the service and after that my internet is no longer working. My devices do connect to the Wi-Fi and xfinity says my modem is online however it keeps saying no intervener connection on all my devices.

Repair request info for extended warranty thru credit card SB6190

Need help getting a repair estimated for my out of warranty Surfboard SB6190 modem. According to the documents needed I need to submit an Itemized estimate of repair identifying the item, the issue, cost of repair (parts, labor, tax). The invoice must have company letterhead and contact information. Has anyone does this or know who I can call/contact? Thanks

Modem (SB6190) configuration

I have recently purchased a modem from Arris for my home WiFi. After activation of the modem, all my home WiFi’s networks aren’t showing up on all of our devices ( phones, iPads…) and my security cameras stopped working because of No WiFi. I called Xfinity (Comcast) to check on my home network’s’ disappearance. Xfinity said that the modem is ONLINE but there is something wrong inside the modem that needs to be configured out by the manufacturer (Arris). Xfinity asked me to call Arris directly for this configuration so Xfinity can get my home WiFi’s networks back. Any help or suggestions please?. Thanks!

can Surfboard SB6190 connect wirelessly to internet? acting almost as a router on its own?

I need not only help for that question, which I suspect the answer is no. Here’s what’s happening: I formerly lived alone and used my modem and Linksys router without issue. I am now living with family who was very powerful Wi-Fi all throughout their large home. For a month- I’ve been able to connect without issue until today. My smart TV, MacBook and iPhone will not connect. Cannot find network or internet, my initial thought was to hook up reputed next to TV so has to get signal, right? But it’s old and cannot get internet from Wi-Fi (to then route out..). It has to be hardwired to internet source- which is wayyyy on other end of house. Help!!

New Surfboard SB6190, is it possible to disable any of the LED indicators?

Very happy with my Arris SB6190 that I purchased from Amazon last week. Called my ISP to add it to their system and speeds have been great. I logged into 192.168.100.1 and checked Configuration. I enabled the “Energy Efficient Ethernet” option which seems to be working fine. I was also looking around online and saw there may be a way to disable the LED lights on the SB6190, but I do not see that option when I login to the device and check “Configuration”. Is this a carrier or otherwise issue (if that’s fine it’s okay)? Alternatively, is there a way for me to see this configuration option that seems hidden from me right now? Product information page shows the following - Standard Specification Compliant: ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem / RetailHardware Version: 3Software Version: 9.1.93V Again, everything is working fine and I am a happy customer. I was just curious if there was a way to disable some of the LEDs. Thank you in advance for any help, Seth
