SB8200

Where is the advanced tab??? theres no way to turn on the link aggregation thats the whole point of buying this modem to get 2 Gbps speeds.

I just recently purchased an SB8200 and it will not connect to optimum, I’ve had a tech out and he was able to connect one of their modems to the network but couldn’t get my modem to connect. Phone call with support also was unhelpful as they said they don’t know why it won’t activate and they said to reach out to Arris. It just gets stuck on solid UP/DOWN lights and flashing connecting and than cycles that forever. Modem is lit solid green, but tv, phones, laptops not connecting wireless App is showing error message for registration, and also says connect to WiFi with Ethernet cable

Connected to internet but WiFi with Linksys router not working…no WiFi

I recently bought the SB8200 and every time i try to use the app is says troubke connecting to the backoffice service how long is the app going to be down for?

I reset my modem and now it is back to the factory name TP-link***** and says enter password. Did this come with modem originally. If I don’t have it do a need to buy a new modem?

I posted this about 2 months ago. I made the adjustments, but I’m still having issues. In fact, my “guest” network is actually much faster than my main network so I’m not sure what to do. I created a home network, guest network, and IOT network. Still it’s not improving. Does anyone have suggestions? I’m not sure if there are more specific ways to “modify” the modem or settings? I’m good with technology but no means a modem/network guy. Thanks for any help! I recently returned my xfinity modem/router and purchased a new one. My IT Guy at work suggested the upgrade to speed up my service. I have the SB8200 modem and TP-Link - AX1800 WiFi 6 Router. I hooked everything up, but the wifi seems to be slower than before. I don’t know if something isn’t configured correctly? I’m no expert at all so any help would be appreciated. Here are the screenshots I thought might help.

ImageImageImageI am trying to connect my modem to my network and facing issues I want you to help troubleshoot for me(it is a arris surfboard model sb2800 docsis 3.1 cable modem. I’ve been waiting thirty minutes and the light has only shown solid blue on the downstream. It needs to show either solid blue or solid green on the connection(very bottom one) to work. Look at the attached screenshots for reference.

I am buying a Used, returned, opened box arris SB8200. wondering if I should concern of possibility that someone might implant a malware in it? I don’t think I can update firmware myself and am not sure if service provider will update it as it is my own modem. thanks

I have two ports in back of my SB8200. One goes to the wifi router, working fine. Sometimes I want a “wired” connection. I tried plugging wire into the other port in the back of the cable modem, it lights green, but computer says “no internet”. I’d prefer to have the wire into the modem (more direct) than a wire into the router. How to have both ports working with one to a router and other direct to a computer? Thank you.

I have an SB8200 that will work when directly connected to a computer, but when I connect it to a Linksys wireless router, it won’t connect. I ended up buying a new one, but I would like to understand if anyone else has seen this.

Recently purchase SB8200 off of Amazon. Checking hardware version it list Version 1. Am I correct in assuming this has been sitting around for a long while? It appeared to be in original packaging. Should I send it back and reorder in hopes of getting version 7? Send it back and order from Arris with the assumption I’d get the latest version? Not worry about it?

I upgraded my Xfinity plan from 50 Mbps to 300Mbps after purchasing an SB8200 modem. When the modem is connected directly to my computer, I get 300Mbps.When the modem is connected to my router I get the speed of my old Xfinity plan: 50Mbps.I am using two CAT5e cables, each of which, when connected directly from modem to computer get 300 Mbps. I did a hardware reset of my router with no change.My router: TP-link AC2300 Any ideas what might be going on?

I was using a 6141 but T4 timeouts kept it rebooting. Went to the 8200 because I wasn’t getting any help with the T3/T4 problems. So, I think your just fine as long as your local Optimum network is good. I couldn’t live with the T4 timeouts and reboots. Oh … my provider is Optimum too. Not saying my 8200 is doing much better. No event log, it staggers at times, claims it is up when our connected devices say otherwise. But yeah, calling your provider for a list of supported modems is the answer.

My SB8200 reboots every day. History of T4 timeouts. However, my modem never resets the uptime to 0 days. Makes no sense. My older 6141 would reset this metric to 0 days after a reboot. Thanks in advance!

Lights on the back Ethernet ports are both flashing green. Is this ok?

I just bought a SB8200 to replace an older arris modem, and while my wifi is working, nothing on my hardwired network is connecting. I have the modem connected to an 8 port switch, and then router is connected through the switch, as well as my Apple TVs and Hue bridge. The router is getting signal and the wifi works fine but the other devices can’t connect.

The cox/modem connection does not seem to work. I can’t communicate to the WWW. The modem was purchased and delivered on 8 Mar. This is my first attempt to use it. Any idea what I need to look at or do to fix the issue? Another thing. I looked at the log file after I logged into the modem. The log file has about 74 entries, starting in 3/2023. Is this a new modem?

We installed Xfinity 1000/40 residential service in, I think, 2017, and installed the SB8200 as the modem. It’s been working. (BIG thumbs up! I cannot complain about several years of flawless service.) When Xfinity bumped service to 1200 a couple years after that, we saw no immediate reason to change modem hardware. Just last week, tho, I discovered that they didn’t just bump it to 1200 down, they also bumped it to 200 up. Nobody talks about the uplink rate. I’ve only been seeing 40 up the whole time since. Well then! I would really like to bump up that uplink rate! I called an Xfinity tech in, who tested the coax up to 2000/450, and what we’re paying for (1200/200), and then speed tested through the modem: the up link rate was 40 Mbps through the SB8200. Is there something I can do to the SB8200 that’ll get me to the promised land (200 Mbps up)? If not, is there another Arris modem that fully supports Xfinity Docsis 3.1 1200/200 coax service?
