SB8200

Hello all, I bought this modem to replace my ISP’s modem and thought this would be a great upgrade. From the beginning the Modem worked perfectly, it gave me no issues with the initial setup and It would function in the same exact state it had been setup with as. Unfortunately 5 days ago the modem would show all green lights lit up and stay lit but my Wi-Fi would show no internet. Knowing this I used an ethernet cable plugged straight to my pc in order to circumvent the possibility of my router being the problem. The problem still persisted.The past few days the only way I have been able to connect to the internet was by resetting my modem and router countless times until they would miraculously work. I have contacted my ISP about the issue and have went through two hard resets of the modem in order to try to fix the issue with the help of the ISP to set the correct signal strength. I just connected my modem, activated with spectrum and have full connection to internet on my desktop that is connected via Ethernet. My google WiFi is not getting internet connection and neither is my apple tv ( connected via ethernet). is there a setting for the modem to give internet connection to devices? 

I recently purchased a SB8200 from Target.  I’m unable to log into the web UI at 192.168.100.1.  I initially signed in and set a password, but then couldn’t sign in after setting the password.  I’ve tried resetting to factory defaults, but still can’t sign in. (It says incorrect password.)  I called support and they said the unit is out of warranty, that I’d have to pay $40 for support.  They advised that I email my receipt to support, which I did weeks ago with no response.  Any recommendations on how to resolve these two issues? I’m assuming I’ll be told to factory reset which I’ve tried multiple times, but still can’t sign in using the default: admin/password

Need to change it 3.0 to 3.1 

I have a version 1 sb8200 and I just bought a v3 to see if potentially my 4 to 5 year old modem was starting to fail. When hooking up the new modem it never got any downstream signal or showed more than 1 down or upstream channel at a time in the access page.The isp (optimum) had said they had everything provisioned on their end for the new modem, but it seemingly would never act like it was getting signal to pass internet through. I should mention, when plugging the v1 modem back in it instantly had internet again without it being re-provisioned. I’m wondering if there’s some way to tell that the modem is faulty before returning it if it so happens that my old modem isn’t failing.

I have a new Invizbox VPN router that I have connected to my Arris  SB8200 modem, and I cannot get an internet connection.  I have a Nest router also connected to the modem via the second port , and it has a strong internet connection.  Is the Arris SB8200 incompatible with the Invizbox vpn router? Or is it possible for the Nest router to block the vpn router in some way?  The two routers are not in line with each other, and I would eventually like to have the Nest router run through the Invizbox router, but for now all I am trying to do is get a simple internet connection on the Invizbox router straight from the modem. Any thoughts?

Why would a brand new modem that advertises DOCSIS 3.1 show DOSIS 3.0 on the status pages? 

I own the Arris Modem #SB8200 and I needed to register it with my internet provide when I installed it.  I controller this modem completely, is that correct?  I am wondering if I need to install firmware updates or this is done automatically when I own the modem.  I see that when the ISP owns this modem, they are in control of the updates.Thank you.

After a lightning storm, my SB8200 modem is showing flashing icon (scanning for downstream channel Internet connection). Does this indicate that the modem is damaged or that the Internet service is damaged or interrupted?  Mediacom says problem is with the modem?

My internet stopped working and when I went to reset my modem I noticed something odd, the lights aren’t going off.   Now of course when I unplug it they go off but when I plug it back in they immediately turn fully back on. i tried resetting it with what I think is the reset button on the back (there is a hole but it’s not labeled) and also tried the IP for internet reset but it’s not coming up. 

Hey there, Community, I own the ARRIS (SB8200) - Cable Modem - Fast DOCSIS 3.1 , Approved for Comcast Xfinity, Cox, Charter Spectrum, & more | 1 Gbps Max Internet Speed, 4 OFDM Channels I bought the ( 2x pack ) of  ARRIS SURFboard mAX W121 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System, AX6600 Speeds up to 6.6 Gbps, Coverage up to 5,500 sq ft  The speeds for wifi have been MUCH better than they were before. We have 3 gamers trying to vy for the wifi so I'd like to drop that to 2 by adding a Moc adapter to my room so I wouldn't need the wifi while gaming. I got a ( 2x ) starter kit of the ScreenBeam Bonded MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter for Highest Speed Internet, Ethernet Over Coax - Starter Kit (Model: ECB7250K02) hoping to be able to plug my PC in that way and take advantage of the ethernet speeds but on the other side of the house from where the router is. However when I connect everything as instructed I can't connect via etherne

New SB8200 is not receiving internet. Cable provider says they have done what is required on their end. I have restarted and hard booted. The internet light blinks for a bit then stops. What is my next option? 

Instructions say to locate the SSID and Password on the device label. There is no sub no label. How do I complete this step? 

SB8200 keeps dropping internet blue light goes out all lights are green no internet I have had isp provider out 3 time tech says it’s the modem

Hi,  i have a surfboard SB8200 modem. Just today, it started to behave funny, would drop internet connections frequently. I checked with Comcast, everything is fine in my area. Upon rebooting modem (unplug the power cord), I would get Internet for 10 mins before it goes out again.  logging into the arris status page, I see Upstream bonded channels sometimes doesn’t existing and there’s only one downstream bonded channel too, which doesn’t seem right at all considering I have 300mbps service with Comcast.  I already checked the warranty status and luckily I’m in warranty. The SN is 21T5J1699603171. Can you progress an RMA replacement for me asap as Internet is down for my whole house. 

I have had my internet and Arris installed for a grand total of 7 days and I am infuriated. The router reboots randomly. Had Xfinity out, they say Arris is not great and it's not their signals. When it comes back up, it is so slow. I ran a speed test, it didn't complete the test. I see a red error message from Ookla. "UPLOAD TEST ERROR" A socket error  occurred during the upload test. A firewall could be blocking the connection or the server might be having issues." I am not a network tech and have no idea where/how to start finding network logs, etc.  

Zito Media (my ISP) sent out a tech because how how frequently the internet has been dropping out. But even after running a new line into the house the problem prevails. They told me it’s a problem with the modem. I have only had this modem for 9 months but it was refurbished and now just barely out of warranty of course. Is there any fix or can I get any sort of credit/discount on a replacement modem?

I have an SB8200 and pay for 1 Gig download from Xfinity.. I get a lot less than that and when I speak with Xfinity they just say its a modem issue with the SB8200. Everything looks fine with the modem. Downstream Bonded Channels are all within range - the Upstream Bonded Channels are a little low but not huge. How do I run a diagnostic test on the SB8200. This is the second SB82000 in 4 years and I don’t want to buy a third if they don’t last much beyond the warranty. Having said that, I don’t trust Xfinity 

I have been trying to login to reset password.  Reset modem and tried the admin and password, still get error message that they are invalid.  What do I do now?

Can’t access web manager for SB2800 (bought 8-21-2024, setup & running), tried going straight from modem to laptop, tried resetting modem, tried turning off firewall, tried both Edge and Firefox, no go, gives me a timeout or can’t reach this page.

SB8200. Modem stopped working, wont connect. have tested all cables. They’re fine. have hard reset modem multiple times and have attempted to login to Arris using IP, but all default usernames / PW’s do not work. I’ve wiped history and cache and used multiple alternative browsers. I’ve tried admin & last 8 of S/N. admin & pw. cusadmin & pw. I’ve tried all variations with blank pw so just clicking enter etc. Nothing works! Unable to login to see modem and try to resolve issue. Also this “live chat” isn’t a LIVE CHAT at all. Terrible “customer service..”

So about once a day now out SB8200 modem loses all lights on the front, not even the power light is on.  We unplug and plug it back into the wall outlet and it refreshes, but sometimes only for a few hours, sometimes for a day.We did do a full reset 2 days ago to see if that would fix the issues, but it is still losing all 4 lights in the front. Though the network cable lights in the back are still on.Any thoughts on what is going on with this unit?
