SB8200v3 S/N: {Edit:personal information} Loses connectivity daily. Have a bad modem. Need a replacement.

I seem to be finding mixed answers to this question. So i am wondering what is the official upload speed of the Arris SB8200?

My SB8200 is running hot. It is not too hot to touch, but pretty hot. I tried going to Arris.com/consumersupport but it leads back to here!

How do I hook up my range extender ?

My SB8200 will not work immediately after a power cycle. It must be left unplugged for 15-20 minutes before attempting to reconnect. The modem is noticeably warm when unplugged, and cold (cool) 15 minutes later. This problem is very repeatable. I’ve never had it connect immediately after power-down or reset in over 20 attempts over the last 3 months. Other than this one issue, the modem works fine. What circumstances would create this behavior? I need someone to explain to me why this problem is not a hardware issue… When plugged back in immediately, the modem will get to the point where the top three lights are solid green but the bottom one is blinking green. It will stay like this for 2 or 3 minutes (I’ve not timed it) before resetting. The start-up sequence repeats, ending with the same condition (top 3 solid green, bottom one blinking green). I have owned this Ariss SB8200 for several years. No problems. SP is Optonline. No problems. A few months ago, I received an upgrade from my basic service speed of 100mbps to 500mbps. No extra charge. Long story not worth going into. I am just starting to concentrate on solving this problem as I haven’t needed the speed. My problem is that I keep reverting to my 100mbps speed. I have done all the regular checks and tried different cables and connected directly to the modem. The issue always comes back to the fact that after several hours or days I suddenly find my speed back to the old 100mbps. Rebooting both modem and router in the proper sequence always gives me the full 500mbps for a finite time, then it reverts to 100mbps. The same when connected directly to the modem with the computer. The time it takes to revert is never the same. Is there something I should do to the modem to solve this? Thanks for any help. Regards, Dmin11

My old modem and router were both functional (slow and outdated) before purchasing and installing the new Sb8200. Now I spent a few hours online with my internet provider and still have no internet with the sb8200. My internet provider tried everything they could to get it to function, now they tell me I’ll have to have a tech look at it and if the problem is on my end there will be charges. It’s obviously on my end, everything was fine (slow but functional) before I installed the sb8200. What else can I try to make it work?

My SB8200 and SB6183 only get one upstream locked channel at 35.6Mhz. I see many posters have 4 locked upstream channels. How have other folks resolved this issue? Channel ID Lock Status US Channel Type Frequency Width Power 4 Locked SC-QAM 35600000 Hz 6400000 38.3 dBmV Also the SB8200 on power-cycle takes 18 minutes to lock the upstream channel. The upstream channel tests 16.4, 22.8, 29.2 at different send power levels, till it reaches 35.6 and acquires lock. Has anybody else faced this problem. Having issues with timeout for Unicast Maintenace. The modem timing out with error codes 16 and 24. Have confirmed all connections. Direct connect to modem (no splitters), eero 6 mesh network without issue.

You know that little world globe that's normally position down in the right-hand corner of your screen. Right now it's not a globe but an icon of a computer screen instead. When I hover over that icon, I get that the 5Ghz Linksys routed is connected. But when I open up that icon, where you would normally hit "connect" it say no internet connection. Thats my problem. I just changed out an SB6141 and all connections worked. I added this new SB8200, and I’ve now got no internet to connect to my Linksys WBT3200ACM router. But my cell phone, tablet, and laptop all connect to the router with a strong signal. Its just this desktop HP that no longer works right. Destops 2years old. I did get the correct connection momentarily when unplugging the router and resetting but that lasted but a few minutes

Modem is activated but won’t provide internet to router or PC.

I bought a new SB8200 upgrading from an SB6183. When I connect to the same location with the same coax cable as the old modem, the receive.led is green steady, but the send led is green flashing. Per the manual, it means the modem is scanning for an upstream (send) channel connection. I have talked to Xfinity and they cannot remote troubleshoot because the modem appears offline. When I put back the SB6183 I get steady green receive and send leds that then turn up Internet in 5-15 seconds. So my problem is the flashing send led for 5-10 minutes without syncing. Has anybody else faced this problem with SB8200. Thanks.

After recycling powered to my SB8200, the blue receive light is always on. Thankfully my internet works fine and signal is getting from the modem to the router and the speed checks are normal. Xfinity is my service provider with the 900mbps plan and there are not outages updates or issues for me or my area. I have tried recycling power and have also done a factory reset. Still no change.

Last September my old modem stopped working so I purchased a Arris SB8200. For the last few months we have experienced numerous dropped connections. It is now being dropped even a few times a day. At first the lower earth symbol would start blinking. Now it stays on like it should but is getting almost to hot to touch. I did a search for cause and this model was the first thing to pop up. Overheating was a large issue. We purchased the modem from Best Buy on 09-22-23. According to this web site there is a two year limited warranty. What can be done to get this modem replaced or fixed? Recently found out that Arris S34 is getting released and it will be supported for the Next Gen Upload Speeds (100 MBps/ 200 MBps). Source. Arris S34 is now listed on Amazon for pre-order. But, both Arris S34 and Arris SB8200 use the same chipset BCM3390 (source: the listing page on Amazon for each modem). Can anyone explain why one is supported and the other isn't? Technically, the firmware shouldn't be an issue at this pt. I am genuinely curious.

Hello, I recently got an SB8200 and a Flint 2 router to replace my Xfi gateway. The setup went well and I followed the manual and activated the modem with Xfinity. I went to go run a speed test and the download was 700 mbps, but upload was only 5.9 mbps at most (I have a 500/100 plan). It would never exceed 5.9 mbps, besides when I first run the test, it goes to around 7 but then rapidly drops back to 5.9 mbps. I’ve spent the entire day trying to fix this and I’m completely out of ideas. I tried contacting Xfinity support to see if they are limiting it somehow but their support was just trying to sell me their products for 40 minutes straight. I contacted Arris support and they told me to try to reprovision my modem, which I did, but it didn’t make a difference in my upload speeds. I’m completely out of ideas and I would really appreciate any help or any ideas, thanks in advance.

I'm following the instructions to setup an SB8200 modem, but can't connect to the Internet. The Xfinity app has successfully connected to the modem and says it's providing Internet, but when the Internet light on the modem isn't on. When resetting, the lights turn green as they cycle through, but as soon as it finishes the Internet stage, they turn off and only the Receiving light stays on (but turns blue). Why isn't the modem connecting to the Internet?

SB8200 with Xfinity not connecting. Says no IP address

I have errors in my event log on my SB8200 after enabling LAG. I am on firmware AB01.01.009.36.02_022720_183.0A.NSH , I have read that Arris has fixed LAG issues via firmware updates. Spectrum tells me they are not responsible for firmware of non-leased devices, and that I need to update the firmware myself. What can I do? Update: Spectrum says “only firmware I am seeing for that model device is for the Version 6 Docsis 3.0”

I have same thing happening with SB8200, like every week or month it would drop down to 30mbps and power cycling the modem is the only way to fix it, I am in Phoenix.

I've been trying to talk to someone on the phone or even live chat but neither one exists you keep sending me in circles this is no way to run a business but a good way to get a bad reputation all I want is to get my refund on a SB8200 that I purchased on 5/08/ 24 my order number is 59472 you tell me I can but just try getting it just give me the info I need to return it and I'll be happy, I already see a lot of unhappy people on your community site.
