Sb8200 only getting 100mbps on a 1gbps plan from xfinity

had a zfinity technician rule out the splitter, coax cable, and ethernet cable a possible cause, down to being the modem itself causing the problem. what could be the reason for this failure. also i am hard wired to it (no router in between). could it be a hardware failure on the inside of the pcb board? if so which component that i may de sauder and re sauder. 5 repliesOldest first plemans 24 days ago log into the computer you have connected and see if your actually connected at a gigabit rate. sb8200 modem keeps going down

Hey guys, I've been having issues with my internet and I'm not really sure where to begin, though I suspect that the issue is with my modem. I'm skeptical because even before I bought it I was having issues with my internet where it would randomly drop and I had to reset it a couple of times before it would come up. I bought the sb8200 3.1 and paired it with a netgear orbi sxk80. It works very well most of the times but there would be like an instance or 2 a day where the internet would drop for like 10 minutes or so and go back to normal. These past 2 months it's gotten progressively worse and the past 3 days have been pretty rough. My orbi tells me when it goes offline and it has notified me of 30+ times in the past 3 days. That is also not including the times where it drops for a couple seconds and comes back.The reason that I think it might be the modem is that when it happens I unplug/plug it and it comes back fine most of the times. SB8200 not showing DOCSIS. 3.1

My SB8200 is showing all green middle lights indicating its running in DOCSIS 3.0. I called Optimum and they said it should be running in DOCSIS 3.1 with my 1 gig plan. Please see the connection log to see if there are any issues. I was using Optimums modem, but it rebooted multiple several times per day. No Ranging Response received on SB8200

Hello everyone ,Today, I purchased a used (preowned) cable modem, specifically the SB8200 model. Upon exploring its Event Log, I noticed several recurring issues related to synchronization and ranging failures, such as:1-SYNC Timing Synchronization failure.2-No Ranging Response received.3-Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received.4-Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received.5-16 consecutive T3 timeouts while trying to range on upstream channel 8.6- Unicast Maintenance Ranging attempted - No response - Retries exhausted. Could someone please help me understand what these event logs mean? Do they indicate a problem with the device? Would it be advisable to return it, or are these issues not significant?Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Connecting SB8200 modem with Netgear and Vonage

I have an SB8200 modem. Currently, my modem is plugged into my Vonage phone modem, and my phone modem is connected into my Netgear Wifi router. I want to connect my SB8200 directly into my Netgear router and use one of the ports on the router to supply my Vonage modem. I tried this setup; however, I cannot get the Netgear router to recognize the SB8200 modem; i.e. I get no connection into the router.

Cox is telling me that my Arris SB8200 is bad, but I don't think the tech was competent.

I insisted the router is fine (it's a couple year-old Asus RT-AX86U).So then he did some actual testing on the outside line and said all is good. But he did change out an attenuator where the line comes into the basement, is barreled together, and runs directly to my modem. He said it was the wrong attenuator for the service.I have whatever the top package is... gigaspeed or something like that.When I first had an issue last night, I was getting 800 download speed, and only 1.5 upload. Although today when I checked, before he came, I was getting 800 and 40. After he left I am getting 670 and 11.His contention is that the modem is fluctuating and needs to be replaced.I feel like he was initially being lazy and didn't want to do any real testing.... so I am still not confident in his conclusion. I’m trying to get a SIP circuit to register, but the SB8200 (used with Xfinity) is blocking something. When I switch to my AT&T circuit, the SIP comes up just fine. Is there a manual for this device? I can’t seem to find one.

SB8200 Two Separate Subnets

I was hoping to setup 2 routers on a newly purchased SB8200 modem. I had one router configured as 192.168.1.0/24 and the other as 192.168.2.0/24I have been Googling but am stumped. I was hoping to have 2 isolated networks - if it’s possible.If there’s a KB floating around, or if anyone has some guidance, I would sure appreciate it any help.Thank you, and my apologies for a rookie question.

internet sb8200 - Unable to use both ethernet port at the same time.

My sb8200 has 2 internet ports. The #1 connects laptop to modem. It flashes orange. 2 connects my router to the modem. It flashes green. Shouldn’t both be flashing green?
