is the 8200 compatible with router tp link tl-sg108e 

I've been trying to talk to someone on the phone or even live chat but neither one exists you keep sending me in circles this is no way to run a business but a good way to get a bad reputation all I want is to get my refund on a SB8200 that I purchased on 5/08/ 24 my order number is 59472 you tell me I can but just try getting it just give me the info I need to return it and I'll be happy, I already see a lot of unhappy people on your community site.

I just purchased the SB8200. I have activated it with my ISP (Spectrum).  Everything seems to be working on their end. I can’t get it to connect to my gateway eero 6. I have internet when connected directly to the computer from modem, but cannot get the eero to come online

I recently switched service providers but I am still showing my old one on the app. How do I change this and is it affecting my wifi?

I installed a new surfboard SB8200 modem with a EEros wifi mesh system to replace my rented modem from Spectrum.Everything installed smoothly and everything wifi works good except for my Honeywell wifi thermostat. I have a Honeywell T6 wifi pro thermostat. I used to be able to control it from my phone. But ever since I got the new modem it doesn’t seem to work.I called Honeywell support and we figured out the thermostat is not receiving an IP address. So they told me to call my cable (Spectrum) provider who told me everything is working fine. So I called Honeywell support again and someone new told me to contact the modem support. Is there a solution for this issue?Thank you

May seem like an odd question.  The SB8200 lists a dl speed of 1gb. Mine is about 3 years old and I just updated my service from 500mb - 1gb, but I am not seeing any higher speed. The max I see is in the 500mb area and thats the speed test directly through my router. I have tried to plug my laptop directly to the modem but I never get an internet connection for some reason that way.Thanks

Turn ot off about every 10 days to reset. Won't accept new update so constantly knocks me off the internet. 

I have Xfinity.   Their channels work fine.  But streaming from other providers sometimes have problems.  I note that Hulu which I just got, would drop out 3 times in a half hour.  Video would just drop to whatever cable programming was on at the time.  Also happens, let frequently on Netflix.  Sometimes it just freezes (looks like it’s buffering) and sometimes it freezes before dropping out and sometimes it just drops out.  Called Xfinity and they said modems have end of life of 2-3 years.  Bought mine in 2021.  Suggested I buy a new one.  I’m guessing they just say that every time they don’t know.  I’ve changed their cable box and nothing changed.  I note that people send in logs and get advice.  Can someone tell me how to obtain the necessary logs to post online?  My mesh network is Eero.

I’m trying to add a new Arris Surfboard Cable Modem, but when I tap to add device on the app, it only gives me the options Surfboard Max or Gaming Bridge or Network upgrade kit. I need to add Surfboard Modem, but it doesn’t come up as one of the choices.    

I bought an Arris modem, model SB8200 on Sept 26, 2023 from Best Buy. The unit quit working last Friday. A tech with Cox comm came out and verified the modem is bad.  Best Buy advised me to contact you.

Have a wireless router (Eero) connected to port 1 on SB8200. Works fine. But when I try to connect my laptop (or an unmanaged switch) to port 2, it doesn’t work.I’ve read all of the stuff about how your “ISP only provides you with one IP, blah, blah”. But I called Xfinity and they said anytime you plug something into the modem it automatically assigns it an IP, and everything should be working. The Eero wireless router has a second port, and if I plug my switch into that, everything works fine (AppleTV, laptop, etc.) The obvious response is, “then why don’t you just do that?” and the answer is because I don’t want to use wifi when I don’t have to. I have that router on a timer set to shut off when I sleep, and I want to keep it that way.

Bought the SB8200 3 months ago, but didn’t actually provision it with Xfinity until 2 weeks ago.  I only have 13 devices needing Internet access through my router.  A few days ago, all my devices would drop their Internet connection for a min or two, then it would restore connectivity.  However, after this last instance of dropped connectivity, service never restored.  Xfinity can see the modem and can restart the modem remotely, but router never sees the connection to the modem.  After trying with a spare router and getting the same results, nothing left to conclude except the SB8200 is not passing the IP address from Xfinity to the router OR the WAN port on the SB8200 has completely failed.  I bought a new router (not a Arris modem!), provisioned the new modem with Xfinity, and voilà, the router is now working perfectly with my new modem and all my devices are reconnected to the Internet.  Looks like I wasted my $s in purchasing the SB8200.

Since October of 2023 my download speed would drop to 30 Mbps like every week or month and stay there until I power cycle the modem. I am on a 250 down and 25 up plan with COX. This happens wireless, wired and pc connected directly modem. Service has been working fine since COX ran the line 6 years ago, line goes from outside directly into the modem, no splitters. COX came out looked at the line, did some cleanup at the box and said line is fine and it still happens. I read online that this is indication that modem is going into partial service mode because of bad levels. I have Modem status and logs before and after the power cycle saved in PDF and I can post them here. i just need to figure out if this is the modem or the line.

My problem is that I purchased a SB8200 by mistake on 5/8/24 couldn't stop the purchase in time so I purchased the right one the SVG2482AC on 5/10/24 I received the 8200 today 5/15/24 can I return the 8200 for a refund I haven't received the other one yet.

I recently purchased a SB8200 modem. upgrading from a SB6183. I live in a very poor cell reception area. Without Wi-Fi calling I would be in trouble. Hence my problem trying to activate the new modem when I need to disconnect the old one, no service then. My original modem I think I had to activate from my previous address then bring here, can’t do that now. any suggestions?

I am having trouble activating my SB2800 modem. I downloaded the Surfboard app as suggested but once I opened the app, it said it only applied to certain products. The system seemed to allow you to search for another product but I never got the product list. So I am stuck.  Is it better to just go through my internet provider?

I purchased a new SB8200 (and TP-Link router) to replace a COX Panoramic combo modem/router that I was renting.  I have one problem:  the SB8200 will not reconnect when power cycled.   Specifically, unplugged, then plugged back in.  The send and receive lights will go solid green, but the online light just blinks.   Eventually (minutes), the modem appears to restart and the lights cycle through startup phases, resulting in the same status described above.   It seems like the modem will do this forever (I give up after 30 minutes).   Using the management webpage, it appears each reset cycle is using an different set of channels to attempt the connection.I only way I’ve discovered to get the SB8200 to connect is to leave it unpowered for several minutes (like 10), then plug it in.   Only then will it successfully establish a connection.I’ve validated that all signals levels are good (per the SB8200: CABLE SIGNAL LEVELS FAQ).   I’ve had COX at my house, and they’ve

I purchased an SB8200 to connect to Optimum after having them scan the MAC address at their local office the modem will not connect.  The power light is green downstream and upstream lights stay solid greed and internet light flashes green.    This stays this way for several minutes then the internet turns solid green for maybe 5 seconds then all lights except power go out and the process repeats.  I have had them reflash the service, confirmed the MAC address and even changed my service coax cable.    I had this issue about 1-2 years ago when I upgraded a modem at another location and after much ado it was resolved but I don’t remember how it was resolved.  I really feel this is an optimum side issue but any advice would be appreciated.  

Hello,I have been having internet issues for a couple weeks, it will randomly drop for less than a couple minutes and come back, there is zero consistency on when it happens. Just enough time to get kicked from a game, for my phone to reject the wifi, etc. Cox is basically no help and just tells me to buy a new modem with zero reasoning as to why, they just want my to buy their hardware and I refuse. If DECO router is connected to Ethernet port 1, will port 2 be ok to connect to my WD external drive?

When signing into the web manager tool for my SB8200 cable modem, it responds to both 192.168.111.1 and 192.168.0.1. This causes a problem for me in that a router in my network can only be managed using 192.168.0.1 and when that is entered, it only goes to the Arris login screen. I cannot get to the router no matter how I’ve tried.Can I, as an end user, somehow delete the 192.168.0.1 IP address from my SB8200?

Hello, Yesterday afternoon my internet cut out and I have been unable to restore it. I checked with my ISP and they aren’t showing any outages in my area, and tried resetting my network on their end but are unable to communicate with my modem. The upstream light on my SB8200 consistently blinks despite resets and factory resets. Cannot get DOCSIS 3.1 running on my new sb8200. Lights on the front always are green. Checked the event log and there are critical error saying the config file will not load.Have xFinity coming out on Wed. but don’t think they’ll be able to fix it unless the tech is aware of this issue and there is a fix.From what I’ve read others had this same problem - wondering how it got fixed so they get full speed and take advantage of DOCSIS 3.1.

Bought my modem jan11 2023 and the auto check said the warranty expired oct23. The customer service office is closed for some reason.
